- 3. Continued… One of her more popular novels is “Falling in Place.” Her second collection of stories is “Secrets and Surprises”. (1978) The story “Weekend” is part of this collection. She received the Guggenheim fellowship (1977), American Academy Award (1980), and The American Distinguished Alumnae Award (1980)
- 4. Stories Her stories are centered more around the states of feeling and unsatisfactory relationships between married and single people. The characters are also unhappy with the jobs they do. They feel as though it is “just a job” or a ritual that is repeated.
