changes direction and over-floods twice yearly.

-Began 802 AD
-Founded by King Jayavarnum II, who declared himself
a god
-Built hundreds of temples from 9th to 14th century

4. Temple Mountain
-Primary form of temple architecture
-Modelling temples off of Indian home of
the gods: Mount Meru

5. Bakong
-881 AD
-First Temple Mountain
-Made of sandstone
-Built in capital city, Angkor

6. Angkor Wat

7. The Moat
-190 meters wide
-Required thousands of laborers

8. Exterior Walls
-Covered with bas relief sculptures

9. Battle of Kurukshetra
-Mythological battle between Pandava and Paurava
families

Wat was built
