Definition of ICT AND NEW ICT
Definition of ICT
ICT (Information and Communications Technology).
ICT are those technologies that allow you to transmit, process and
disseminate information in an instant.

Definition of New ICT

information media and communication channels related to storage,
processing and transmission digitized of information like
computers,moviles phones…

Advantages and disadvantagesthe ICT and New ICT
Advantages:
we have more capacity to store data, send all kinds of documents, faster,
easier to find information, we can make any purchases online without
having to leave home,we can ask medical appointment through internet
etc..
Disvantages:
• It should be updated frequently and purchase equipment and learn new
software
• The cost of technology is very high so you should have a high budget.

Evolution of ICT and New ICT
The electronic evolution began in the 70s is the starting point for the
development of the Digital Age. Scientific advances in the field of
electronics had two immediate consequences : the dramatic fall in prices
of raw materials and the improvement of Information Technology (IT )
that combine electronics and software. But the research developed in the
early 80s have allowed improved electronics, computer and
telecommunications network interconnection enabling .

Consequences of the New ICT and
communication in society
The New ICT has many ways to communicate with anyone from any
place. This has influenced the whole world and now almost everyone is
"connected'' (we can call , share things with the world, send documents,
send message , videos, images, search information on the internet ...).
The New ICTs have brought many benefits to society but also some
disadvantages because you can become addicted to new technologies.

The New ICT in the professional

The new technologies we can use fore more utilities than a chat, we able
to make deposits in the bank ,we can buy on internet without leaving
home, to learn, we can make formal documents and send it... The New
ICT have brought great advances in the professional sphere.

Shopping on-line:
Electronic commerce consists of the buying and selling of products or
services over electronic means such as the Internet and other computer
networks. Originally the term was applied to the execution of
transactions through electronic means such as Electronic Data
Interchange, however , with the advent of Internet and the World Wide
Web in the mid-90s began referring mainly to the sale of goods and
services trought the Internet, as payment using electronic means such as
credit cards.

In this picture we see how we can buy online

E-banking:
Electronic banking is banking which can be accessed via Internet. They
can be physical branches or entities that operate only online or by phone.

In this picture we see how we can do banking, watch
our bank accounts...Trought internet with the simple
use of a credit card .

Ángela Aparicio Garcia 4ºA

E-learning:
Electronic learning is a form of learning through internet, e-learning
systems have a pedagogical and technological utility. Pedagogical in that
these systems should not be exclusively digital information containers,
but the information should be transmitted according to a defined
pedagogical models and patterns to meet the challenges of these new
contexts. Technology as the whole teaching-learning process is based on
software applications, principally developed in Web environment, which
these systems worth the nickname of training plataforms.

Communication tools offered by New ICT
The Information Technology and Communication (ICT) are allied of
efficiency. ICT users to provide specific tools for many uses.
Examples of these tools (websites, emails, electronic
applications,electronic search engines...)

Communication as a form of knowledge:
Through communication offered by New ICT we can find information (eleraning) learn from experiences of others who have shared online. The
New ICT can serve as a means of knowledge.

Ángela Aparicio Garcia 4ºA

4
Responsible use of the New ICT tools
example: Internet is presented today as a tool, present in many homes,
which allows us, among other things, a new way to use some of our
leisure, communicate almost unlimited, share information, etc.. their
advantages are numerous, but in the same way, their use is not without
risk than we should know. Even more if they are children, we are the ones
spend much of their free time "surfing the net". the risks are that most
data are not as "private" as we think and also there is also the risk of
viruses and more risks.

Private Intellectual Property (Copyright) and data
protection law:
When a person creates an original work on a physical medium , this
person automatically become the owner of the copyright of this work .
This property gives the owner the exclusive right to use the work of
specific forms . Here are some types of works that may be subject to
copyright :
-Audiovisual works (example: TV programs , movies and online videos )
-Musical compositions and sound recordings
-Written works (example: conferences , articles, books and musical
compositions )
-Visual works (example: pictures , posters and ads )
-Video games and computer software
-Dramatic works (example: plays and musicals) ,
The ideas , facts and processes are not subject to copyrights. To be
subject to copyright, a work must be created and be recorded in a
tangible medium . The names and titles are not themselves subject to
copyright .
