• View Trends available by Echo and by Week
• A view is counted any time a user streams a video file, regardless of proportion viewed.

Usage Heat Map
Heat map categories are not currently documented by Echo360. They may be used heuristically as a way of evaluating general
interaction patterns, but are not meant to provide granular intelligence about viewing activity.

Reports
Student Aggregate (By Student)
Unique Views - the number of different Echoes the student has viewed
Cumulative Views - the total number of Echoes the student has viewed
Completion - average completion rate for all Echoes viewed (a proxy for engagement)
Bookmarks - number of bookmarks posted for all Echoes
Discussions - number of discussion topics posted for all Echoes
Downloads - shows if student downloads an Echo rather than streaming it (interactions are not collected for downloaded
Echo content)
Live Views - number of times a student attended a live webcast rather than attend in class
Last Viewed - most recent Echo viewed by the student
Date Viewed - date a student last viewed any Echo
CAUTION
Student Aggregate report
displays user activity for all
possible echoes, and not just
echoes related to a specific
class, which makes it difficult to
compare users (i.e. these are
poor proxies for engagement)

Student Specific (By Echo)
Echo Date (Title) - title of Echo and date it was recorded
Completion (%) - amount of the specific echo that was viewed
Total Minutes - total minutes viewed
Discussions - total number of discussion topics posted for the echo
Bookmarks - number of bookmarks posted for each Echo
Last Opened - date the Echo was last viewed
Participated Live - indicates whether a student participated live
Downloads - indicator whether student downloaded Echo rather than stream it. No interaction data on downloaded
content.

  • 4. Updated 2014-07-29 I. Course-Level Analytics: Echo Center a. Course Statistics • View Trends available by Echo and by Week • A view is counted any time a user streams a video file, regardless of proportion viewed.

Course-Level Analytics: Echo Center Echo Statistics Viewing Unique Viewers is the number of users who have streamed a particular echo Cumulative Views is the number of times an echo has been streamed Engagement • Discussion topics and replies are not used or supported within the Emory University Echo360 Environment Usage Heat Map Heat map categories are not currently documented by Echo360. They may be used heuristically as a way of evaluating general interaction patterns, but are not meant to provide granular intelligence about viewing activity.

Course-Level Analytics: Echo Center Reports Student Aggregate (By Student) Unique Views - the number of different Echoes the student has viewed Cumulative Views - the total number of Echoes the student has viewed Completion - average completion rate for all Echoes viewed (a proxy for engagement) Bookmarks - number of bookmarks posted for all Echoes Discussions - number of discussion topics posted for all Echoes Downloads - shows if student downloads an Echo rather than streaming it (interactions are not collected for downloaded Echo content) Live Views - number of times a student attended a live webcast rather than attend in class Last Viewed - most recent Echo viewed by the student Date Viewed - date a student last viewed any Echo CAUTION Student Aggregate report displays user activity for all possible echoes, and not just echoes related to a specific class, which makes it difficult to compare users (i.e. these are poor proxies for engagement)

Course-Level Analytics: Echo Center Reports Student Specific (By Echo) Echo Date (Title) - title of Echo and date it was recorded Completion (%) - amount of the specific echo that was viewed Total Minutes - total minutes viewed Discussions - total number of discussion topics posted for the echo Bookmarks - number of bookmarks posted for each Echo Last Opened - date the Echo was last viewed Participated Live - indicates whether a student participated live Downloads - indicator whether student downloaded Echo rather than stream it. No interaction data on downloaded content.
