This paper focuses on the analysis of cocurrent imbibition phenomenon which occurs during secondary oil recovery process. In cocurrent imbibition, a strongly wetting phase(water) displaces a non-wetting phase(oil) spontaneously under the influence of capillary forces such that the oil moves in the same direction to the water. We use an optimal homotopy analysis method to derive an approximate analytical expression for saturation of water when the viscosity of the non-wetting phase is non-negligible.
B spline collocation solution for an equation arising in instability phenomenoneSAT Journals
Abstract
In the present paper numerical discusses a theoretical model for instability phenomenon in double phase flow through
homogeneous porous medium. Relation between relative permeability and saturation has been considered based on earlier
experiment. A governing nonlinear partial differential equation is solved by collocation method with cubic B-splines. To obtain
the scheme of the equation the nonlinear term is approximated by Taylor series which leads to tridiagonal system and has been
solved by well-known Thomas Algorithm. The Numerical solution is obtained by using MATLAB coding.

Numerical simulation of marangoni driven boundary layer flow over a flat plat...eSAT Journals
Abstract
A numerical algorithm is presented for studying Marangoni convection flow over a flat plate with an imposed temperature
distribution. Plate temperature varies with x in the following prescribed manner: where A and k are constants.
By means of similarity transformation, the original nonlinear partial differential equations of flow are transformed to a pair of
nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Subsequently they are reduced to a first order system and integrated using Newton
Raphson and adaptive Runge-Kutta methods. The computer codes are developed for this numerical analysis in Matlab
environment. Velocity profiles for various values of k, and temperature profiles for various Prandtl number and k are illustrated
graphically. The results of the present simulation are then compared with the previous works available in literature with good
agreement.

Prediction of Compressive Strength and Water Absorption of Sand-Quarry dust B...IJERD Editor
Block manufacturers in Nigeria are faced with the problem of mix proportioning to meet the compressive strength and water absorption requirements. This paper developed new models for predicting the 28th day compressive strength and water absorption of sand-quarry dust blocks using Osadebe’s regression model which expresses the response as a function of the proportions of the mixture components. The models were formulated using existing data and were validated using the F statistic and probability plots. A comparison of the models and the existing ones based on Scheffe’s simplex lattice models showed that there is no statistical difference between them. The new models however have wider range of application and are more user friendly.

Fixity depth of offshore piles in elastoplastic soft clay under dynamic loadeSAT Journals
Abstract
This work represents study of dynamic behavior of offshore piles embedded in elastoplastic soft clay, and estimating the fixity depth of pile. ABAQUS finite element program which used to simulate the problem. The soil was modeled in two case elastic state model and elastoplastic state model represented by cam-clay model, three dimension element used to represent the interaction between pile and soil, and laboratory tests used to getting the real properties of clayey soil and to descried interface. The results obtained developed two empirical equations used to calculate depth of pile fixity for pile embedded in elastic and elastoplastic soil respectively. Also, show the depth of pile fixity is increase about (40 %) due to change soil model from elastic to plastic, when pile embedded in elastoplastic soil its dependent on soil strength, interface properties and pile rigidity. The pile head displacement is increase about 90 % while the bending moment is decease 10 % at pile head.

Abstract
Liquid distributors which on the top the wet curtain are widely used in industry field especially in the packed tower and solution dehumidifier. Consequently, liquid distributors play a major role. Many scholars devote to design and analyze the performance of liquid distributor in order to improve distribute liquid capacity of the liquid distributor. The velocity or the flow of the outlet is very important for the performance of the liquid distributor which directly affects the performance of the solution dehumidifier, however, the velocity is difficult to quantify unless the flow field is known. Therefore outflow through the outlet of liquid distributors has been simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. As first part of the project a new kind of liquid distributor which is used mine solution dehumidifier is proposed based on the related theory.
In a second part of the project, through the Fluid-solid coupled simulation method, the velocity of the liquid distributor outlet and the stress of the orifice plate were analyzed based on the Fluid-solid coupled theory. The velocity and the stress were obtained which indicated that orifice plate liquid distributor had the well distribute liquid capacity. These results were validated by experimental results.
In a third part of the project, the experiment was carried out to analyze the capacity of the orifice plate liquid distributor. In this paper, the performance of the liquid distributor of the mine solution dehumidifier was analyzed by the simulation and experimental methods, which provide a new idea and method for the design and analysis of distributor. Regional gradient optimal control problem governed by a distributed bilinear ...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
This paper gives an extension of previous work on gradient optimal control of distributed parabolic systems to the case of distributed bilinear systems which are a type of nonlinear systems. We introduce the notion of flux optimal control of distributed bilinear systems. The idea is trying to achieve a neighborhood of the gradient state of the considered system by minimizing a nonlinear quadratic cost. Using optimization techniques, a method showing how to reach a desired flux at a final time, only on internal subregion of the system domain will be proposed. The proposed simulation illustrates the theoretical approach by commanding the heat bilinear equation flux to a desired profile.

Time Series Least Square Forecasting Analysis and Evaluation for Natural Gas ...rahulmonikasharma
Power and mechanical energies are now a down main stream of energy to produce any other type of product in any nation in the world. Currently natural resources are the main stream of resources to produce the power energy or mechanical energy. We aware that the natural resource energy is limited. It’s the prime focus now a day to optimize the natural resource consumption. Natural Gas is an integral part of the natural resource and hence needs a planning and forecasting to optimize the natural gas usage and wastage. Without the proper planning and forecasting, the natural gas consumption will be highly usage and wasted and hence the limited resource will be drained off. In this paper, we analyze the time series least square method and compare its results with the actual data with absolute error percentage. This paper provides a clear analytic results and comparisons which serves as a base forecasting model for natural gas consumption.

Reconstruction of Time Series using Optimal Ordering of ICA Componentsrahulmonikasharma
We investigate the application of Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and the process of optimal ordering of independent components in reconstructing time series generated by mixed independent sources. We use a modified fast neural learning ICA algorithm with a non-linearity dependent on the statistical properties of the observed time series to obtain independent components (IC’s). Experimental results are presented on the reconstruction of both artificial time series and actual time series of currency exchange rates using different error measures. The area of the error profile is introduced as a minimizing parameter to obtain optimal ordered lists of IC’s for the different series. We compare different error measures and different algorithms for determining optimal ordering lists. Our results support the use of an Euclidean error measure for evaluating reconstruction errors and are in favor of a method for obtaining optimal ordering lists based on minimizing the error profile between contributions of independent components in the lists and the observed time series. For the majority of the series considered, we find that quite acceptable reconstructions can be obtained with only the first few dominant IC’s in the lists.

In this paper, the variational iteration method (VIM) is used to get an approximate solution for a
system of two coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations which represent the concentrations of carbon
dioxide 퐶푂2 and phenyl glycidyl ether. In this system there are boundary conditions of Dirichlet type and the
other is a mixed set of Neumann and Dirichlet type. Our calculations evidenced by tables and figures for the

with fast convergence. Comparison with the results obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM)
reveals that the numerical solutions obtained by the VIM converge faster than those of Adomian's method. The

H-infinity controller with graphical LMI region profile for liquid slosh supp...TELKOMNIKA JOURNAL
This paper presents a H-infinity synthesis with pole clustering based on LMI region schemes for
liquid slosh control. Using LMI approach, the regional pole placement known as LMI region combined with
design objective in H-infinity controller guarantee a fast input tracking capability and very minimal liquid
slosh. A graphical profile of the transient response of liquid slosh suppression system with respect to pole
placement is very useful in giving more flexibility to the researcher in choosing a specific LMI region. With
the purpose to confirm the design of control scheme, a liquid slosh model is considered to represent
the lateral slosh movement. Supremacy of the proposed approach is shown by comparing the results with
hybrid model-free fuzzy-PID controller with derivative filter. The performance of the control schemes is
examined in terms of time response specifications of lateral tank tracking capability and level of liquid
slosh reduction.

Considering Two Sides of One Review Using Stanford NLP Frameworkrahulmonikasharma
Sentiment analysis is a type of natural language processing for tracking the mood of the public about a particular product or a topic and is useful in several ways. Polarity shift is the most classical task which aims at classifying the reviews either positive or negative. But in many cases, in addition to the positive and negative reviews, there still many neutral reviews exist. However, the performance sometimes limited due to the fundamental deficiencies in handling the polarity shift problem. We propose an Improvised Dual Sentiment Analysis (IDSA) model to address this problem for sentiment classification. We first propose a novel data expansion technique by creating sentiment-reversed review for each training and test review. We develop a corpus based method to construct a pseudo-antonym dictionary. It removes DSA’s dependency on an external antonym dictionary for review reversion. We conduct a range of experiments and the results demonstrates the effectiveness of DSA in addressing the polarity shift in sentiment classification. .
A New Detection and Decoding Technique for (2×N_r ) MIMO Communication Systemsrahulmonikasharma
The requirements of fifth generation new radio (5G- NR) access networks are very high capacity and ultra-reliability. In this paper, we proposed a V-BLAST2 × N_r MIMO system that is analyzed, improved, and expected to achieve both very high throughput and ultra- reliability simultaneously.A new detection technique called parallel detection algorithm is proposed. The performance of the proposed algorithm compared with existing linear detection algorithms. It was seen that the proposed technique increases the speed of signal transmission and prevents error propagation which may be present in serial decoding techniques. The new algorithm reduces the bit error probability and increases the capacity simultaneouslywithout using a standard STC technique. However, it was seen that the BER of systems using the proposed algorithm is slightly higher than a similar system using only STC technique. Simulation results show the advantages of using the proposed technique.

A wireless network enables people to communicate and access applications and information without wires. This provides freedom of movement and the ability to extend applications to different parts of a building, city, or nearly anywhere in the world. Wireless networks allow people to interact with e-mail or browse the Internet from a location that they prefer. Adhoc Networks are self-organizing wireless networks, absent any fixed infrastructure. broadcasting of data through proper channel is essential. Various protocols are designed to avoid the loss of data. In this paper an overview of different broadcast protocols are discussed.

It doesn’t depend on fixed architecture, the nodes are continuously moving in a random fashion. In this article we will focus on identifying the Sybil attack in MANET. It uses air medium for communication so it is more prone to the attack. Sybil attack is one in which single node present multiple fake identities to other nodes, which cause destruction.

Network management and Routing is supportively done by performing with the nodes, due to infrastructure-less nature of the network in Ad hoc networks or MANET. The nodes are maintained itself from the functioning of the network, for that reason the MANET security challenges several defects. Routing process and Scheduling is a significant idea to enhance the security in MANET. Other than, scheduling has been recognized to be a key issue for implementing throughput/capacity optimization in Ad hoc networks. Designed underneath conventional (LT) light tailed assumptions, traffic fundamentally faces Heavy-tailed (HT) assumption of the validity of scheduling algorithms. Scheduling policies are utilized for communication networks such as Max-Weight, backpressure and ACO, which are provably throughput optimality and the Pareto frontier of the feasible throughput region under maximal throughput vector. In wireless ad-hoc network, the issue of routing and optimal scheduling performs with time varying channel reliability and multiple traffic streams. Design Evaluation and Temperature Rise Test of Flameproof Induction Motorrahulmonikasharma
The ignition of flammable gases, vapours or dust in presence of oxygen contained in the surrounding atmosphere may lead to explosion. Flameproof three phase induction motors are the most common and frequently used in the process industries such as oil refineries, oil rigs, petrochemicals, fertilizers, etc. The design of flameproof motor is such that it allows and sustain explosion within the enclosure caused by ignition of hazardous gases without transmitting it to the external flammable atmosphere. The enclosure is mechanically strong enough to withstand the explosion pressure developed inside it. To prevent an explosion due to hot spot on the surface of the motor, flameproof induction motors are subjected to heat run test to determine the maximum surface temperature and temperature class with respect to the ignition temperature of the surrounding flammable gas atmosphere. This paper highlights the design features of flameproof motors and their surface temperature classification for different sizes.

The main objective of on-line aptitude test system is to efficiently evaluate the candidate thoroughly through a fully automated system that not only saves lot of time but also gives fast results. For students they give papers according to their convenience and time and there is no need of using extra thing like paper, pen etc. This can be used in educational institutions as well as in corporate world. Can be used anywhere any time as it is a web based application (user Location doesn’t matter). No restriction that examiner has to be present when the candidate takes the test.
Every time when lecturers/professors need to conduct examinations they have to sit down think about the questions and then create a whole new set of questions for each and every exam. In some cases the professor may want to give an open book online exam that is the student can take the exam any time anywhere, but the student might have to answer the questions in a limited time period. The professor may want to change the sequence of questions for every student. The problem that a student has is whenever a date for the exam is declared the student has to take it and there is no way he can take it at some other time. This project will create an interface for the examiner to create and store questions in a repository. It will also create an interface for the student to take examinations at his convenience and the questions and/or exams may be timed. Thereby creating an application which can be used by examiners and examinee’s simultaneously.
Examination System is very useful for Teachers/Professors. As in the teaching profession, you are responsible for writing question papers. In the conventional method, you write the question paper on paper, keep question papers separate from answers and all this information you have to keep in a locker to avoid unauthorized access. Using the Examination System you can create a question paper and everything will be written to a single exam file in encrypted format. You can set the General and Administrator password to avoid unauthorized access to your question paper. Every time you start the examination, the program shuffles all the questions and selects them randomly from the database, which reduces the chances of memorizing the questions.

NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS OF HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN CONDENSING HEAT EXCHANGERS...ssuser7dcef0
Power plants release a large amount of water vapor into the
atmosphere through the stack. The flue gas can be a potential
source for obtaining much needed cooling water for a power
plant. If a power plant could recover and reuse a portion of this
moisture, it could reduce its total cooling water intake
requirement. One of the most practical way to recover water
from flue gas is to use a condensing heat exchanger. The power
plant could also recover latent heat due to condensation as well
as sensible heat due to lowering the flue gas exit temperature.
Additionally, harmful acids released from the stack can be
reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation. reduced in a condensing heat exchanger by acid condensation.
Condensation of vapors in flue gas is a complicated
phenomenon since heat and mass transfer of water vapor and
various acids simultaneously occur in the presence of noncondensable
gases such as nitrogen and oxygen. Design of a
condenser depends on the knowledge and understanding of the
heat and mass transfer processes. A computer program for
numerical simulations of water (H2O) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4)
condensation in a flue gas condensing heat exchanger was
developed using MATLAB. Governing equations based on
mass and energy balances for the system were derived to
predict variables such as flue gas exit temperature, cooling
water outlet temperature, mole fraction and condensation rates
of water and sulfuric acid vapors. The equations were solved
using an iterative solution technique with calculations of heat
and mass transfer coefficients and physical properties.

Abstract—This paper focuses on the analysis of cocurrent imbibition phenomenon which occurs during secondary oil recovery process. In
cocurrent imbibition, a strongly wetting phase(water) displaces a non-wetting phase(oil) spontaneously under the influence of capillary forces
such that the oil moves in the same direction to the water. We use an optimal homotopy analysis method to derive an approximate analytical
expression for saturation of water when the viscosity of the non-wetting phase is non-negligible.
Keywords-Cocurrent imbibition; Darcy law; Mass balance equation; Optimal Homotopy analysis method.

I. INTRODUCTION
When a porous medium is partially covered by water, oil
recovery is dominated by cocurrent imbibition i.e. the
production of non-wetting phase has the same direction of
flow as the wetting phase. This phenomenon has been studied
by many researchers and solved by different methods [1-5]. To
find the distribution of water saturation in porous medium,
pertaining nonlinear partial differential equation(PDE) should
be solved with appropriate conditions. The purpose of this
work is to solve nonlinear PDE describing cocurrent
imbibition in inclined homogeneous porous medium by
Optimal Homotopy analysis method(OHAM).This method has
been applied recently to a number of problems for solving
nonlinear ordinary and partial differential equations[15-26].
During secondary oil recovery process, it is assumed that
the water is injected into fractured oil saturated
inclinedhomogeneous porous medium and cocurrent imbibition
occurs. It is also assumed that the macroscopic behavior of
fingers is governed by statistical treatment. Thus, only average
cross- sectional area occupied by fingers is taken into account,
the size and shape of individual fingers are ignored. The
velocities of both the phases are considered under gravitational
and inclination effect. We assume that the porosity and the
permeability of the porous medium are constant for the
investigated flow system. The saturation of injected water
S𝑖 𝑥, 𝑡 is then defined as the average cross-sectional area
occupied by injected water at distance 𝑥 and time 𝑡.

The expression of the total velocity 𝑉𝑡 of two phases in
cocurrent imbibition phenomenon can be written as [11]

The relation between the capillary pressure 𝑝𝑐 generated
by an interface and the difference in pressure across the
interface between the non-wetting and wetting phases is [9]:
𝑝𝑐 = 𝑝 𝑛 − 𝑝𝑖 (5)
We assume the linear relationship between capillary
pressure and phase saturation as [12]

where𝛽 is a constant.
According to Scheidegger and Johnson [13], we consider
the analytical relationship between relative permeability and
phase saturation as
𝑘𝑖 = 𝑆𝑖 (7)
The pressure of injected water can be expressed in the form

and 𝑆𝑖 𝑥, 𝑡 = 𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 .
Eq. (10) is the nonlinear partial differential equation
governing cocurrent imbibition phenomenon in inclined
homogeneous porous medium. The solution of this equation
represents the water saturation.
We assume following boundary conditions for the
saturation of injected phase:
𝑆𝑖 0, 𝑇 = 𝑎𝑇 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑇 > 0 (11)
and
𝑆𝑖 1, 𝑇 = 𝑏𝑇 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑇 > 0 (12)
where𝑎and 𝑏 are constants.
We solve (10) together with boundary conditions (11) and
(12) using optimal homotopy analysis method to obtain
saturation distribution of water.
III. OPTIMAL HOMOTOPY ANALYSIS SOLUTION
To solve(10) by optimal homotopy-analysis method, we
choose the initial approximation
𝑆𝑖0
𝑋, 𝑇 = 𝑎𝑇 +
𝑏 − 𝑎 1 − 𝑒−𝑋
1 − 𝑒−1
𝑇 (13)
of 𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 which satisfies boundary conditions and the
auxiliary linear operator as
ℒ 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 =
𝜕2
𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕𝑋2
+
𝜕𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕𝑋
(14)
with the property ℒ 𝐶 = 0 , where 𝐶 is integral constant
and 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 is an unknown function.Furthermore, in the
view of (10), we have defined the nonlinear operator as
𝒩 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 = 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕2
𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕𝑋2
+
𝜕𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕𝑋
2
+ 𝐴
𝜕𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕𝑋
−
𝜕𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞
𝜕𝑇
(15)
By means of the optimal homotopy analysis-method, Liao
[20] constructs the so-called zeroth-order deformation
equation
1 − 𝑞 ℒ 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 − 𝑆𝑖0
𝑋, 𝑇
= 𝑐0 𝑞𝐻 𝑋, 𝑇 𝒩 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 (16)
where 𝑞 ∈ 0,1 is the embedding parameter, 𝑐0 ≠ 0 is
convergence control parameter and𝐻 𝑋, 𝑇 is nonzero auxiliary
function.
It is obvious that for the embedding parameter 𝑞 = 0and
𝑞 = 1, (16) becomes
𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 0 = 𝑆𝑖0
𝑋, 𝑇 (17)
and
𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 1 = 𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 (18)
respectively. Thus, as 𝑞 increases from 0 to 1, the solution
𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 varies from the initial guess 𝑆𝑖0
𝑋, 𝑇 to the solution
𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 of (10).
Obviously, 𝜑 𝑋, 𝑇; 𝑞 is determined by the auxiliary linear
operator ℒ , the initial guess 𝑆𝑖0
𝑋, 𝑇 and the auxiliary
parameter 𝑐0. We have great freedom to select all of them.
Assuming that all of them are so properly chosen that the
Taylor series

exists and converges at 𝑞 = 1, we have the homotopy-series
solution
𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 = 𝑆𝑖0

Differentiating the zeroth order deformation equation (16)

For simplicity, assume𝐻 𝑋, 𝑇 = 1.Theeqs. (22) are second
order ordinary linear differential equations for all 𝑚 ≥ 1and
can be solved by symbolic computation software such as
Mathematica. Thus we convert the original nonlinear problem
(10)-(11)-(12) into an infinite sequence of linear sub-problems
governed by (22)-(23).
Hence the approximate analytical solution to the given
nonlinear problem takes the following form:
𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 = 𝑎𝑇 + 𝛼 1 − 𝑒−𝑋

where𝛼 =

The solution represents the saturation distribution of water
𝑆𝑖 𝑋, 𝑇 at distance 𝑋 and time 𝑇 . The convergence of the
solution depends on the convergence control parameter 𝑐0. As
shown in [14, 17, 20], we can determine the possible optimal
value of convergence-control parameter𝑐0 by minimizing the
averaged squared residual
𝐸 𝑚 =

(27)
where we have chosen 𝑀 = 𝑁 = 50in this paper.
At the given order of approximation, the minimum of the
averaged squared residual corresponds to the optimal
approximation.
The value of 𝑐0 can be optimally identified from the
condition
𝑑𝐸 𝑚 𝑐0
𝑑𝑐0
= 0 (28)
In this paper, the command NMinimize of the computer
algebra system Mathematica is used to find out the minimum of
averaged squared residual and the corresponding optimal
convergence-control parameter.
IV. NUMERICAL RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
To obtain the numerical values of the solution, we assume
the value of constants as 𝐿 = 1; 𝜌𝑖 = 0.1; 𝑔 = 9.8; 𝛽 =

V. CONCLUSIONS
The approximate analytical solution is obtained for the
concurrent imbibition phenomenon in inclined homogeneous
porous medium by optimal homotopy analysis method. The
convergence of solution is guaranteed by using optimal value
of convergence control parameter. The saturation of injected
water increases when angle of inclination with porous matrix
increases. The water saturation increases when the distance
increases for fixed time.
