1) The US redcedar market generates nearly $60 million annually and includes primary manufacturers, secondary processors, wholesalers and retailers. Redcedar is used for lumber, furniture, mulch and other products.
2) Barriers to entry in the market include capital needs, lack of experience, access to inputs and markets, and economies of scale. Suppliers and buyers have minimal bargaining power along the value chain.
3) While substitutes exist for some redcedar products, its distinct properties provide a niche market. Competition is currently
