This document analyzes data from an experiment comparing the toxicity of regular and green detergents. Two graphs are presented: 1) The first graph shows the average number of worms alive for each detergent at different concentrations, but does not reveal clear correlations. Regular Detergent 2 had the lowest minimum and maximum average, while Green Detergent 1 and 2 both had averages of 4 worms alive at some concentrations. 2) The second graph compares the average number of worms alive when combining data for regular versus green detergents. The minimum for regular detergents was 1.66667, and maximum was 5.66667. For green detergents, the minimum was 5 and maximum was 8. Both

This graph was created to demonstrate the correlation- or in this case the lack of correlation-
between the collective averages of all three trials of each percent concentrations of each
individual detergent. There does not appear to be any direct correlations that can be made from
this graph. Therefore, the general location of the minimums and maximums of each detergent’s
averages will be analyzed. The minimum value for the Regular Detergent 1 is 1 while the
maximum value of worms alive is 3.666666667. Then the minimum value for the Regular
Detergent 2 is 0.333333333 while the maximum value for worms alive is 2.666666667. The
maximum value for worms alive for the Green Detergent 1 is 4, while the minimum value for
worms alive is 2.333333333. Finally the minimum value for worms alive for Green Detergent 2
is 2 while the maximum value for worms alive is 4.
Green Detergent 2 and Green Detergent 1 are the only detergents to demonstrate a maximum
average of 4 worms of alive. However, Green Detergent 1 only shows this average of once
while the average of 4 worms alive appears three times for Green Detergent 2. Regular
Detergent 2 has the lowest minimum and maximum values for average number of worms of
alive. Then both Green Detergent 2 and Green Detergent 1 demonstrate 3.666666667 average

2. numbers of worms alive for 25% dilution. They also both display 3.333333333 for the average
number of worms alive for the dilution of 6% and the average number of 4 worms alive for 0%.

This graph was created to demonstrate the correlation between average number of worms
alive and the category -rather than specific type- of the detergents. As such the average number
of worms for each % of dilution for Regular Detergents was found by combining the number of
worms alive (there should be a total of six numbers for the worms found alive) for each % of
dilution then divided by 3 (the 3 came from the three number of trials because they needed to be
viewed as a group rather than individual. This same idea was then applied to Green Detergent 1
and Green Detergent 2 to find similar- in the sense of the method that was used- and the data was
inputted in the graph.
The minimum value for the number of worms alive for the Regular Detergents was
1.666666667. Then the maximum value found for the number of worms alive for the Regular
Detergents was 5.666666667. Then the maximum value for the number of worms alive for the
Green Detergents was 8, while the minimum value for the average number of worms alive was 5.
The values for the average number of worms alive for the Regular Detergents for 0% and 25%
dilutions were 5.666666667. Finally, the values for the average number of worms alive for the
Green Detergents for 25% and 3% dilutions were 7.333333333.
