The Role Of Women And Their Influence On The War
Nevertheless, another vital component in The Iliad is the role of women and their influence on the
war and their association with different characters. Scholar Mary R. Lefkowitz, disputes that ladies
had some freedom and were under the supervisions of man. The scholar inscribes:
In the Homeric epics, women seem to have little independence; they were always under the
guardianship of a man, whether a husband, father, or even a son. Wives must live in their husband
s cities; women like Chryseis or Briseis, who have been captured in raids, become slaves and are
completely subject to their masters. (Lefkowitz 503).
I concur with the writer that women do not have any force and are constrained by man. As the
author noted about Chryseis been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(The Iliad I.13 14, 22 23,25 30 32).
After the confrontation between Agamemnon and Chyrses, Agamemnon requests for another war
prize as Lefkowitz says, The priest prays to Apollo, reminds the god of his services to him, and the
gods the plague on the Greeks, so that Agamemnon is forced to return Chryseis, and as a result
demands that the Greek give him another prize. (Lefkowitz 504). This causes Agamemnon to
demand Achilles prize Briseis although she did not want to leave Achilles. At last a quarrel over a
woman grounds Achilles to not battle for the Achaeans bringing deaths and setbacks in the war.
This demonstrates women assumed a critical part in the poem.
In comparison to Lefkowitz, Homer mentions in Book one of The Iliad that women are seen as
property and objects for pleasure. Women are identified and used as items such as sex slaves. King
Agamemnon stresses the soldiers to proceed apprehending Briseis by exclaiming;
Go to Achilles lodge. Take Brises at once, his beauty Brises by the hand and bring her here. But if
he will not surrender her, I ll go myself. I ll seize her myself, with an army at my back and all the
worse for him! Patroclus obeyed his great friend s command. He led Briseis in all her beauty
from the lodge and handed her over to the men to take away. And the two walked back along the

Causes Of Death For Men And Women During The United States
One of the leading causes of death for men and women in the United States can be attributed to
Coronary Artery Disease. In the medical world, treatments are ever changing and improving the
chance of survival from this disease. One such treatment, Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
with stent placement, is now used in more than 80% of CAD cases with an exceedingly high
success rate (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/161446 overview). With any procedure, there
is a number of tools at the doctor s fingertips, and a new experimental technology in the stent world
has risen with temporary bio absorbable stents. The following document will briefly explain the
procedure and their use in percutaneous coronary intervention.

Such contraindications could be an intolerance to long term antiplatelet therapy or significant
conditions leading to a reduced lifespan in the patient. If there is a lack of cardiac surgical support
or the artery has suffered less than 50% or complete occlusion, the procedure may be voided. The
patient also must not have received a bypass graft to the left anterior descending artery. (http:/
/www.merckmanuals.com/professional/cardiovascular disorders/cardiovascular tests and
procedures/percutaneous coronary interventions). Careful approach should be used in cases where
patients suffer from diabetes and coronary artery disease or have left main disease without collateral
flow and a high Syntax score. (http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/ 161446 overview).
As with any medical procedure, risks are taken into precaution when preforming a Percutaneous
Coronary Intervention. Complications generally arise from three types: contrast administration,
catheter/tool related issues, and access site situations (bleeding, hematoma, limb ischemia, etc.) A
patient may have an allergic reaction to the contrast media administered of which there is a course
of action to counteract the reaction with diphenhydramine, albuterol, or epinephrine. Contrast
nephropathy, one of the highest risks of PCI, is presented as an insufficiency of the renal system
clearing the blood. This risk can be reduced by using

Currency Devaluation And Fuel Subsidy Removal
Currency devaluation and fuel subsidy removal are policies that are phenomena to the Nigerian
economic environment. This research study identifies that the implementation of the policies has
further caused more challenges in the pursuit for economic development than remedy to alleviate
the crisis.
From the research questions of this research study, was the questionnaire developed aimed at prying
into currency devaluation and fuel subsidy removal for Nigeria s economic development. The use of
questionnaires were employed, which was distributed to 387 respondents who were selected as a
sample of the population. In organizing and presenting data collected, frequency tables, bar charts

In an understanding of the various challenges, Nigeria s economy had encountered in its existence
as a sovereign independent African state, these two macro economic fiscal policies have being
observed to be most often Nigeria s resort each time she s faced with financial issues. The
principle of this research study was to seek understanding and analysis of the cause effects of
Currency Devaluation and Fuel Subsidy Removal for Nigeria s economic growth and
development. The increasing arguments amongst economists and policy makers that while
stability in exchange rate promotes growth and improves standard of living, misaligned exchange
rate hinders export growth causing macroeconomic instability (Adigwe, 2013). The optimal goal
amongst others for devaluing naira and removal of fuel subsidy is to strike a competitive stance in
the international economic system and ensure that it lingers on for period of time to be able to see
the economy transitioning from a developing economy to a developed country, as it is the burning
desires of most African countries for which Nigeria is a major.
Positions and opinions taken by scholars especially within Africa brings to limelight the fact that
currency devaluation and fuel subsidy removal may serve as instrument being implemented by the
International Monetary Fund and World Bank to attain fiscal equalization and stability for
developed countries,

The Violence of Care: Rape Victims, Forensic Nurses, and Sexual Assault Intervention. NYU Press,
2014.
As an anthropology professor at Marquette University, Semeena Mulla has the qualifications to
discuss forensics, but she connects her background to the cases of sexual assault victims. Mulla
investigates the methods nurses use to collect and preserve evidence while simultaneously
discussing the role of assault victims as patients; she argues that incorporating care and forensic
investigation with one another allows victims to understand their own situations. Another point the
author makes is the importance of caring for the victim during a collection of evidence rather than
committing a secondary rape. Mulla explains the importance of care in terms of medicine and
forensics, a different approach than my other sources. Still, her explanation of the victim s role as
an active member of the medical, investigative, and forensic processes provides refreshing insight
on making the victim feel represented. The author has the credentials for discussing forensics, so
her connection of this science to the psychology of the patient may extend beyond her area of
expertise, but she effectively delivers her

Bessie Delany Case Study
The life of Annie Elizabeth Bessie Delany encompasses decades of trials and tribulations. Bessie
lived to be over a hundred years old, which is a centenarian is a term used for this particular age
group which is a feat by itself, by any standards. How did Bessie Delany achieve this remarkable
milestone? Did the biopsychosocial aspects of her life play a role in her longevity? These are
some of the questions raised when delving into the life of Miss Bessie Delany. First, let us look
at the biological aspects of Miss Delany. Later on, we will look more closely at the psychological
aspects and the sociological aspects of her enthralling century old life. The Issues Facing Later
Adulthood According to (Zastrow Kirst Ashman, 2016) there is a myriad of challenges facing
older adults throughout their later years of life. The issues range from failing eyesight to aching
joints, but the good news is that the aging process is an individual process. The bad news is that it
is a process no human being can escape this process in the genetic makeup of every human on

The Ethics Of The Human Body
As the home to many deadly creatures, Australia could be considered the most venomous place
on the planet. As a result it is also one of the world leaders in research into venom and anti
venom, leading the way towards a future in which venoms may be just as much of a friend to
humans as they are foe. This gives rise to the statement venoms can be both friend and foe for
humans, which is presently supported by a vast wealth of scientific research and anecdotal
evidence. This essay will investigate whether venoms truly can be regarded as both friend and foe,
through the examination of venom, its effects on homeostasisin the human body and the possible
consequences and benefits that could arise from these effects.

The stimulus response model shown in Figure 1 gives a general sense of the interplay between
these components, demonstrating the feedback loop employed in a standard homeostatic response.
Figure 1
Homeostasis is typically achieved through the process of negative feedback, in which any deviation
from the steady state is detected by the receptor, activating mechanisms that counteract the change.
Positive feedback is another type of feedback, however it enhances the original stimulus rather than
reducing it and can cause potentially damaging effects for the organism (Saladin, n.d.). Negative
feedback is therefore the more common mechanism of feedback regulation. The endocrine system,
for example, is particularly vital in homeostasis as it releases hormones that control the activity of
the body s cells, and, through feedback regulation, is able to initiate a response that regulates the
development and metabolism of most body systems and cells. Homeostasis can be altered by
external influences such as nutrition, psychological health, physical health and toxins. Venoms
contain toxins that affect homeostasis by targeting vital body systems, necessitating effective
homeostatic regulation in order to stabilise the body s internal environment so as to avert the
potential destruction of an entire system, which would shortly lead to death (Biozine, 2012).

Analysis Of The Articles Of Confederation
The Articles of Confederation were exactly what was asked for by the colonists they sought after
a weak government with little to no control (Schultz, 2014). It established the division of powers
that required there be a Committee of States where a representative from each state occupied a
seat. The Articles of the Confederation left the power to the states to levy taxes, and regulate
commerce. It did accomplish what it was intended to do as far as placing limits on government
authority, giving citizenship to the people, and give members the ability to expand into the western
part of America to settle the land. The underlying issues with the Articles of the Confederation are
some of the things that made it great for example not allowing the

Tim Berners Lee s The World Wide Web
Introduction
In 1990, Tim Berners Lee who invented the World Wide Web and gave theoretical and
technological background for a new hypertext based linked information system, pointed out the
problem of keywords. Searching for a particular information, document or webpage is a far more
complex and longer process then it should be, mainly because two people never seem to choose
the same keyword for the same concept. (Berners Lee, 1990) This problem becomes more and
more acute as we enter the age of the Social Web characterized by collaborative and continuous
creation, adaptation and alteration of content. The first generation of web tools, between 1990 and
2003, allowed users to publish information on a static page which could be read using ... Show more

However, the problem with keyword selection has remained largely unsolved, although social
tagging was a big step forward.
When users are searching for information on the web, they evaluate results tertieved before
planning the next search procedure. When evaluating, users are able to make connections between
information pieces from text, image or video based content and make associations between words.
The goal of the third generation of the web is to make more data available online readable and
analyzable for machines as well. The Semantic Webwill bring structure to the meaningful content
of Web pages by using metadata and ontology, creating an environment where software agents can
rapidly answer complex queries of users. (Berners Lee et al. 2001) The source of this environment
is already there: we have huge amount of data available online. Three components help to transform
existing data and store them as semantic data (Herman, 2006, 2008):
Universal Resource Identifier (URI) which is a subject or an object;
Resource Description Framework (RDF) triples (s,p,o) which means a labeled connection between
two resources, where s , p and o stand for subject, property/predicate and object;
Ontology, a common metadata vocabulary that defines the concepts and relationships used to
describe and represent an area of knowledge. It is used for property characterization, term
equivalence analysis and reasoning

Patricia Lengermann s Feminist Theory
5. The feminist theory is a wide range of ideas centered from a woman perspective. Within this
theory, there are many different spin offs. To begin the liberal feminist, focuses on gender
differences and gender inequality. Specifically, how men benefit more in society than women. This
theory keys in o the differences that are so evident in society. Gaining a lot of momentum in the
1960 s, this theory sees the inequality as a result from patriarchal and sexists patterns within
institutions. Specifically, In Patricia Lengermann s chapter she claims a lot of this inequality
established from injustice in labor, but it is also seen in other institutions of society like marriage,
households, and government. Therefore, this theory called for change in law and custom to allow
women to have their deserving equality in society. They see change for equality by the use of the
state. Specifically, according to Lengermann, they fight change for equal educational and economic
opportunities, and eliminate the sexist message in many public and private institutions. Another big
element is liberal feminist believe inequalities between men and women are socially constructed.
Although liberal feminist seek change through policy, they are often criticized of being overly
optimistic. It also misses the fact that there deep structural causes to women oppression, and laws
can t always just fix these problems. Some will also argue the theory benefits white women more
than any other racial group.

Globalization is a process that encompasses the causes, course, and consequences of transnational

Examination Of Paul s Thesis
In Romans, the Apostle Paul creates a powerful proclamation that salvation and forgiveness of sin
is through faith in Jesus Christ. In a series of questions and historical facts, he builds a case for his
declaration. Examination of Paul s statements provides substantiation of justification by faith
supported by the apostle James teaching.
Paul exposes his thesis by declaring a righteousness from God separate from the law (Rom. 3:21
[NIV]). God s acceptance is available apart from the old legal obedience, foretold by the Law and
Prophets, to all people, through faith and belief in Jesus Christ. From this proposal, he would argue
that history and logic prove Christ as the savior of mankind.
Beginning the argument, Paul establishes his basic

1. Describe person centred approaches.
Person centred is about providing care and support that is centred or focused on the individual and
their needs. We are all individuals and just because two people might have the same medical
condition, for example, dementia, it doesn t mean that they require the same care or support
because they are two different people which means their needs will be different. You needto

Social support or to maintain contact with family and friends. In general people are sociable, we
will attempt to relate to other people and develop a relationship with them. Sometimes people will
need support in relating to others this can be for a range of reasons such as, illness if social
circumstances may of meant that someone has lost contact with other people such as their family
and friends, other may have issues in making relationship and some may have had difficult or
painful experiences which have made them wary of becoming involved with others.
Outcome 2
Understand how to implement a person centred approach in an adult social care setting.
1. Explain how finding out the history, preferences, wishes, and needs of an individual contributes
to their care plan.
Finding out the history, preferences, wishes and needs of an individual will contribute to their
care plan, you would do this by asking and talking to the person concerned, or if they were
unable to tell you this information, you could speak with their family. Ask the individual about
their life, and what they used to work as etc, if they are able to tell you all of this, then you will
learn a great deal about them and this will help you to offer support to them in the most appropriate
ways. Residents can often find it hard to

For this assignment I ve decided to do a research on my MacBook Pro. There are two parties to
the warranty. One party is the consumer and the other party is Apple themselves. Whenever the
consumer buys the product, that s when the warranty activates. From that day on, the consumer
has one year to make claims that the warranty covers. After doing research online, I couldn t
really find anywhere where as it would claim that the apple (MacBook) is covered by the UCC.
UCC is not a federal law, so it really depends on the states that enforce these law. If let s say for
example Florida had the UCC laws then that wouldn t leave much of choice for Apple because they
would have to follow the laws of that state if they would want to operate within that state. In United

Dining Restaurant Risks include ADA Compliance and Off Premises Utility Outages Restaurant
risks are an inevitable part of doing business, but I believe that savvy restaurateurs, managers and
chefs can manage these risks proactively with proactive preparation, careful planning and
implementing the right risk management techniques. People use restaurants as social hangouts,
places for business meetings and homes away from home, so any restaurant s customers might
seem more like family than customers, but when something goes wrong, I ve found that
restaurateurs quickly realize that these family members are actually part of a long term business
relationship that generates high levels of risk and legal liabilities. I ve worked in the restaurant
business for many years as a cook, server, chef, manager and restaurant owner and sold advertising
to fine dining restaurants and major hospitality venues, so I ve learned a few things about the
restaurant business that even experienced restaurateurs might miss. Restaurants face risks that can
be roughly classified into financial, operating and marketing perils, and I urge restaurant owners to
address each of these potential risks proactively. In today s social sharing, instant communications
and litigious ecosphere, even the most scrupulous and painstaking management practices can fall
short of anticipating and preventing all risks. Upscale

Over Your Dead Body
Takashi Miike movies are never meant for general audiences, with both Audition and Ichi the
Killer being two movies that are extremely weird, but very well made. In Audition s case, it was
a film that is frightening and made you think twice about blind dating. Miike s newest movie
Over Your Dead Body, which premiered in Canada at the Toronto Film Festival in 2014, is a
film that looks artistically beautiful, yet the story doesn t back it up, falling apart midway
through and never able to recover. I m sure there are fans of this movie out there, so Scream

Concepts Of The Group Dynamics Essay
Introduction
The report aimed to give the detailed look at the concepts of the group dynamics and the ability
to recognise and reflect on its own and others behaviours in an experiential group of each lab
session. The group is made up of six people they are Siu, Wing, Olivia, Shae, Shelby and I (Min).
Johnson and Johnson (2013) argued that group as a number of individual who join together to share
or serve various purposes including goal, independence and interpersonal interaction, structured
relationship. Finley (2002) categorized the types of therapy group as activity groups and support
groups. Activity group mainly incorporated into task and/or social component. Task groups focus
on developing skills and tend to produce individual and the end products.
In fact, the group is formed based on the task group to complete any tasks required in each lab
session in the meantime each member is able to develop their skills participates in the group work
and contribute the ideas of the final products. All the group members get together to achieve a goal
in each activity. For example, the group goal is to build the tallest Spaghetti Tower to beat the other
groups in the Spaghetti Tower activities. The group members are also interdependent and
interpersonal interaction with each other to understand the rules or instruction in each task. For
example, when we mentioned the Egg Drop activity everyone was confused with the instruction in

school I went to didn t care either. They showed me that I can skip class everyday and still pass
with an A average. Despite all the things I didn t get taught in high school, I did learn some unique
aspects that I can reflect on and use for college. The skills I reflect on are annotating, using the
Cornell note taking system, and how to be on time for school.
To begin with, the first aspect I reflect on from high school is annotating. Annotating helped me a
lot when I was taking final exams and other test. This is one of the most I reflect on because I
can use this skill to help me in college. I first learned how to annotate in the 11th grade when I
was at Monroe Comprehensive High School. The way my teacher showed me how to annotate
was to number the paragraphs then summarize the paragraphs individually, after doing that it
helped me understand the passage better as if it was hard to comprehend. My teacher also told
me to underline any sentences that look interesting to me and circle any words that I am not
familiar with and go and look them up after I was done. But you don t just annotate and be done,
but you have to go back and study what you annotated so you can get a full understanding of
whatever you re annotating. Annotating is a big skill that I was taught because I can use it in
other subjects other than English such as: History, Science, and other classes, but I can t annotate
the same way in every subject. For example: If I annotate math the same way I do in History then
my notes would be messed up because I am learning two

approximately 55 years old, is Caucasian American, and recently separated from his wife with
whom he has two school aged children. He dresses impeccably in pressed suits and polished
shoes. He is clean cut and shaven. His hair is cut short and is neatly parted to one side. He has a
rigid and stiff posture. He displays rigidity in his thought content which are manifested in
preoccupations with cleanliness and his family affairs. He is inflexible in his personality. His
wife recently separated from him and called him impossible to live with. During their
relationship he displayed a huge need to be in control by doing things such as re cooking a meal
she made because he felt he could do a better job or obsessive cleaning their apartment and
complaining when she was messy. While he loved her very much and had a sense that he was
annoying her, he is so inflexible in his personality that he was unable to make changes. Mr. Unger

Literary Devices In Llake By William Blake
Jerusalem by William Blake, the title of this poem, references the city of Jerusalem. The holy
land for the Christian and Islamic religion. William Blake was religious during his lifetime (as it
showed in many of his poems) and it was said that he had visions of god and archangels in his
childhood. So as simple as the title may seem, it symbolizes the ideas that Blake had towards
religion. Blake might also talk about how England invaded Jerusalem, and it would depend on his
viewpoint, if he thinks of it positively, or something that goes against his beliefs. It could also be
an ode to Jerusalem, as previously mentioned, William Blake was very religious and this poem
could demonstrate his appreciation towards God.

Over the last 30 plus years, Human Resources Department has evolved from the people who
conducted all administration duties like the keeper of the records in the filing cabinets to the
backbone of an organization. Human resources management can be defined as that part of
management concerned with: All the decisions, strategies, factors, principles, operations, practices,
functions, activities and methods related to the management of people as employees in any type of
organization (Mahapatro, 2010). The changes to Human Resources management has been
beneficial to everyone within an organization. As technology advances so do Human Resources as
it takes on different roles and advancements like Human Resources Information Systems. Human
Resources Information System (HRIS) is a system used to acquire, store, manipulate, analyze,
retrieve, and distribute information related to the company s human resources department. From
the Human Resource manager s viewpoint, an HRIS can be used to support decision making, to

Persuasive Essay On Atomic Bombs
Have you ever noticed how dangerous the world can be? While some of us think that we are
safe, there are a lot of people who disagree. Today we have all these bombs of mass destruction,
and this is a great fear to a lot of people. We now have enough of these bombs worldwide, and it
can wipe out most of living organisms. Yes, the U.S. does have these bombs for protection, but
the U.S. isn t the only one with them, there are a lot of countries that also have them, and this is
what alarms everyone. Are these bombs truly our go to weapon when it s time to fight? These
bombs can leak radiation, cause damage and millions of casualties to our planet, but we won t
blink an eye once they are used on the people who have done us harm. Now we have more
advanced bombs that can cause much more damage than the bombs used in Hiroshima and
Nagasaki. These bombs like atomic bombs nuclear bombs etc. can reach a much bigger range in
diameter. The biggest bomb in the world is called the tsar bomb which is 1500 times bigger than
the bombs used in Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. You can only imagine how many innocent
lives can be affected using only this bomb Atomic bombs are weapons of mass destruction. The
definition says it all. They do not cause peace, they cause mass destruction, mass destruction of
cities countries etc. The first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima japan. This was done after

My First Shot
It was almost midnight when he caught up to me. I knew it was time. I picked a spot next to the
large cave I found under the brush. He was coming quickly and I heard the dogs with him. When
he was within range I turned slightly and yelled in pure terror, or thats what he thought. Waiting
for him to shoot I pretended to struggle and and scramble in the brush while he pulled out his
pistol. I knew the way it worked, I had been in his dungeons listening to the gun shots for weeks.
I knew he would shoot my arm first to stop me, then my legs, then one last shot in my heart to
kill me. I waited for the first shot. It grazed my arm but that wasn t good enough, I yelled as if it

How Does Howard Fast Present Joseph Simmons
Joseph Simmons
A monster of a man with a heart of gold. This is how I picture Joseph Simmons from April
Morning by Howard Fast. This book is about the first battles of the Revolutionary War. It is seen
through the eyes 15 year old Adam Cooper. Over the period of a few days, Joseph Simmons goes
from being a pretty flat character who is seen as the big, silent type, to stepping up and helping
lead some attacks on the British. He goes from looking to others for approval to stepping up and
finding his own voice. He also gains a son in Adam, when his father, Moses Cooper, is lost in the
battle. A good man overall, Joseph Simmons is somewhat simple, extremely moral, and very kind.

me, I saw that the tears were pouring down his cheeks. (Fast #126) You can tell by that bit from

with them and Miss Kinnian at the Learning Center for Slow Adults. However, Charlie wants to
be smart, the one dark cloud in his sunny sky of life. Because of this, Charlie volunteers for an

Charlie suddenly becomes conscious of his previously pitiful existence which leads to a slew of
feelings such as embarrassment, shame, and superiority. Charlie thinks that becoming smart will
make him happy and well liked, but the operation works the opposite effect. Charlie starts to look
down on everyone, and cannot socialize with others because of his IQ. As a result, Charlie becomes
almost depressed. His depression deepens when Charlie discovers that his intelligence will not be
permanent. Soon, Charlie regresses to his former childlike mentality. Although at the end of the
novel, Charlie does not find himself any worse off after the operation, the few months he spent
smarter are not terribly enjoyable for him, and his changing mentality negatively impacts those he is
close to, namely Miss Kinnian. Because the effects are not permanent, Charlie would be far better
off without the operation.

There are many rules around the world. For instance, children under the age of 20 cannot drink
alcohol and smoke cigarettes in Japan. When it comes to driving, children are forbidden to drive a
car. These actions forbid children under the law. Young people are not allowed to behave like
adults because children s brains have not yet developed enough compared to adults. How about the
restriction of entertainment, such as movies. In Japan, children under the age of 18 are prohibited
from watching pornographic films and violencefilms at a movie theater because it is considered that

Based on these factors, there should be a law prohibiting children under the age of 18 from playing
violent video games.
Children are addicted to violent video games, and children play them all the time, so it will have a
great influence on their health. Unlike other usual games, violent video games have some unique
characteristics. First, there is the excitement. Children always have to obey their parents;for
example, parents tell them how long they study and when they go to bed. However, once children
start playing games, they can take control of everything in the game. As a result, they can decide
where to go and how many enemies they want to kill. Unlike R rated films, children actually
take on a main character in a game, not just watching movies,so the unrealistic ability to control
the game world makes children get excited. In addition to this characteristic, most of all violent
video games have no ends. The most addicted games have no exact goals in games, this makes
children play them eternally. Thus, they will never be bored with the games, and naturally enough
, they enjoy playing them all the time. As a result of children s game addictions, children tend to
be in a unhealth condition. For example, children have a problem with their eyesight. Since
children s eyes are very sensitive, playing too much games makes their eyes excessively dry. Also,
lake of sleep is another big problem. Because of long hours of playing games, children do not

Colombia Drug Policy
The US Approach in Colombia
As the United States is one of the largest drug consumers in the world they view drugs particularly
cocaine as a threat to US national security that undermines US economy, value, and identity. With
this in mind, the US uses an approach that assumes that if there is no supply then there would be no
demand, contradicting the capitalist concept of supply demand. US drug policy is divided into two
groups from policies of control to policies of aid. In Colombia, the United States has been using its
political and economic influence mainly through economic assistance since Andean states generally

With a change in viewpoint the United States began to see the armed rebel groups such as FARC as

the plan programs continued through the Andean Counterdrug Initiative (ACI). During the Bush s
second term, the administration changed its focus to face the economic issues by implementing a

Tartuffe, a Comedy by Molier
Tartuffe is one of the most famous comedies written by the French playwright MoliГЁre. The
play tells the story of a wealthy Frenchman named Orgon who takes in Tartuffe, a man who
presents himself to be religious and passionate but actually turns out to be a hypocrite. Despite his
family s warnings, Orgon completely turns his back on his family in order to protect Tartuffe, who
betrays him. During that time the play was first written and performed, many people, along with
King Louis XIV himself, enjoyed the play. However, to others it was seen as being critical of
religion and the church, which then lead to it being banned. In a political sense, Tartuffe serves as
both an endorsement and critique of the ideas of absolutism, divine right,... Show more content on

In those times, religion was hard to separate from politics and other aspects. Tartuffe was able to
fool people by claiming to be a devout man of God. If this were to happen with the King s advisors,
it could cause corruption throughout many parts of the kingdom. MoliГЁre does believe that the
King should seek advice from others, but he warns that he should listen to many opinions and think
carefully before making a final decision.
The divine right theory claims that the monarchs are specially selected by God to rule the
kingdom. Consequently, the King is responsible for his own actions and decisions. However,
God is the only one who can make judgments. So even if the King rules unfairly, that does not
permit the citizens to rebel against his rule. Rather, it is up to God to handle it. In Tartuffe,
MoliГЁre seems to praise the King for his fairness and mercy by pardoning Orgon in the end.
Due to his previous loyalty to the throne, he returned Orgon s property to him and forgave him for
hiding the papers. The wise King also saw through Tartuffe s deception and hypocrisy and had him
arrested. These events in the story definitely show MoliГЁre s support for King Louis XIV, as he
knew that abolitionism and divine right were honest intentions to rule the kingdom fairly.
Also during this time period, an emphasis was placed on patriarchal family. God has ultimate
authority over all, as He is the true

Eminem was married in his 20 s this was predictable because he had a stable girlfriend and was

This is a predictable life stage because Eminem and his Mum never had much money; his mum
was unable to pay rent therefore the time that she could stay at a house or trailer was limited.
She was a drug taker therefore she could have had drug dealers after her for money. By putting
Eminem s upbringing into perspective moving house is predictable because it is band to
happen. It s impossible for a single parent who is on drugs and an alcoholic to not only bring up
a child but to manage their low income, afford food and also pay for drugs within such a limited
income span. Drugs and alcohol was clearly more important to his mum hence why she couldn t
pay her rent. Where this situation was on going once Eminem had moved houses a few times he
probably got used to the routine of moving house and because isolated or separated from old
friends. It was a situation that he had no way of adapting to because he was never settled.
Eminem getting scouted
Eminem got himself into a show at the Olympics, this is where he got scouted by Dre, Dre got
him signed and helped him to make the success of his life. This had an impact on him because he
is finally living his dream; the good has finally come out of all the bad things and the struggle that

39 pound Ankilewitz (who is now 34 years old and correctly diagnosed with Spinal Muscular
Atrophy) began using a wheelchair and microphone to assist in his daily living.... Show more

Against all odds, Ankilewitz not only eventually sits down with Dr. Cordova, but also fulfills his
life long dream of riding a Harley. The viewer sees just one sliver of Ankilewitz s life, but it is
apparent that he has faced all his challenges in life with this same degree of tenacity. With his 39
pound frame, Ankilewitz backs down to no one, helping him exceeding Dr. Cordova or anyone else
s expectations.
39 Pounds of Love shows Ankilewitz as a romantic, for life and love. Ankilewitz finds passion in
everything he does and friendship with everyone he meets. Ankilewitz s fragile frame
mesmerizes onlookers. Some stare, some walk away. Given the opportunity, Ankilewitz rapidly
turns a stranger into a friend. He is heartfelt, honest and transparent. His passion for life invites
people in. These relationships provide him with meaning and purpose. It is his life force. It
motivates to do more than simply get through life. Instead, Ankilewitz lives life and loves life.
Ankilewitz s life proves other people s perceptions of us do not have to define us. There comes a
certain point in a person s life where one must choose if outside perceptions are going to dictate
their lives or serve as a catalyst for the drive and determination to be proven wrong.
Examining others can provide for great introspection, which allows for the constant personal
reflection needed in the education field. Having the opportunity to observe the onlookers behavior

U-High Creek Water Quality Analysis
The water quality of the U High creek was found to be excellent. Though the water has excellent
quality, some other creeks have very poor water quality. This bad water is due to pollution, and
pollution comes from humans. One way water quality can be tainted is pollution from farms.
Fertilizer and farm wastecan be very harmful to creek water quality. The fertilizer used on crops
/ fields can runoff the fields and into creeks due to lots of rain. The chemical pollutionin the water
leads to high level of nitrate and phosphate. Algae uses this to grow very fast (eutrophication) and
then dies and breaks down by bacteria which quickly multiple and use up all the oxygenkilling the
organisms in the water (Lenntech, 1998 2016). A second way that creeks can become polluted is
through chemical waste from industrial companies. Chemical waste from industrial processes are
sometimes accidentally dumped into rivers. Some of these chemicals include cyanide, zinc, lead,
mercury, cadmium and copper. These toxins may enter the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

A riparian zone a area on the sides of the creek that you don t mow or spray with pesticides. In
order for a creek to be healthy don t mow right up to the edge of the edge this causes the root
system made up by the plants to die eroding away the soil beneath it. You can make sure you
have a big enough riparian zone. Riparian zones is very effective to keeping your creek health as
long as it is big enough and not infected (Munson township, 2016). There are pros and cons to
having a no mow zone, a pro may be that you know your creek will be healthy and the soil will
not erode and absorb polluted water(USDA 1999). Another benefit is that it will not cost as
much because you don t need to pay for upkeep (USDA 1999). Even though the riparian zone
sounds great it may be very ugly or messy to some people. The final con would be that it can take a
long time to repair a creek (USDA

Education vs Prison Funding
Final research paper on Education vs. Prison Funding
The government is responsible for security of its citizens and it is also responsible to provide a
safe socio economic environment to its people, and in this context; Jails and schools are two
important institutions of any society, which need regular monetary support from the government.
Thus government has to be very careful in allocating funds to both of the institutions; as one
punishes the convicts and other makes the people skillful, and wise enough to get a job and earn
money for family. Government has to be very careful in allocation of funds to them, as it is very
critical to decide which institution should be allocated more money. The report, PrisonSpending

It also mentions that in past 30 years the population of the country increased by only 33 percent,
however the number of prisoners increased by around 350 percent. With this data we can assume
the amount of funding required for the functioning of jails. Prisoners are seen as potential threat
for the society; government spends billions annually to keep criminals in jails, to supervise
those on parole and probation. Though the prisoners are also human beings and deserve basic
comforts of life in jail too; but, it is also necessary for the government to instill fear of prison in
minds of all the people and it is not possible when prisoners enjoy the comfort in prisons. Jails
should be dreadful for criminals and this fear should work as a deterrent to commit crime, but
studies have revealed that fear of prison is not a successful deterrent for major part of prison
population. Sometimes they don t have an option but to commit crime, as many of them are not
educated enough to get a decent job and earn money; so they resort to crime to earn a living. A
report titled. Education and Correctional Populations suggests that it can only be stopped, if
prisoners are provided education to make them skillful, and instead of spending money on gyms
and other recreational things for prisoners, jails should spend money on making a good library and
providing technical education to prisoners, so they

Achieving Goal In Chinua Avi s Nothing But The Truth
Do you know how hard some people work to get toward their goal? Some people don t work at
all. If you have a job, then you know you have to actually do your job in order to get paid. If you
don t do your job, however, you won t get paid, and you will probably get fired. The same goes
for if you want to try out for a team; you have to do your schoolwork. In Nothing But the Truth ,
Avi uses the character of Philip to demonstrate how you have to work hard to get to your goal.
The first way Philip demonstrates that you have to work hard to get toward your goal, is when he
asks his coach about trying out for the track team, which ends negatively. In the book, Philip wants
to try out for the track team, but he got a D on his mid term exam in English... Show more content

In the book, Philip is humming the National Anthem in class during the announcements, when
his teacher, Miss Narwin, kindly asks him to stop. However, he keeps on humming, until
eventually, Miss Narwin tells him to go to the office. The next day had the same outcome.
Supposedly, there is a rule at their school that basically says that you have to stand in respectful
silence during the Anthem, but Philip claims he doesn t know it. So, he spreads a rumor (That
eventually goes nation wide) that Miss Narwin forced him to stop acting patriotic. Philip
Malloy: She won t let me sing The Star Spangled Banner... In school. This morning, I was singing
The Star Spangled Banner. The teacher kicked me out. First off, Philip states that he was singing
, not humming, the Star Spangled Banner. That is a lie right there. But since he keeps saying that
was singing it, not humming it, it builds on the rumor and helps Philip work toward his goal
getting Narwin off of his back. Second, when he says, The teacher kicked me out. , it sounds like
she kicked him out right away, and didn t give him another chance. He twists the wording in favor
of him. Philip believed that, by making a partially false rumor, he would succeed in getting Narwin
in trouble. He won, but since Narwin got negativity nation wide,

Oppression of Women in 19th Century Literature
Oppression of Women in 19th Century Literature
In the stories The Jewelry by Guy de Maupassant, The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin, and The
Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, the female characters are unequal and less
important than the men in society. The duties of women during this time period did not consist of
much more than seeing to her husband s needs and caring for the home and children. The authors
show the lack of independence women were allowed in the 1800s, especially in marriage. The
stories express women s cry for equality and their feelings of entrapment in their marriage. Each
story elaborates on the importance of social class in the 19th century, how women were presented in
society, and how society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the midst of her grieving, Mrs. Mallard pictures the time that is to come, when she will be
able to make all of her own decisions and will be given the freedom to live her life as she pleases.
Suddenly, she feels relieved more than she is upset. She knew that she would weep again when
she saw the kind, tender hands folded in death...but she saw beyond that bitter moment a long
procession of years to come that would belong to her absolutely (Booth 307). Her desire for
freedom overcame the despair of her husband s death. Chopin includes that Mrs. Mallard tried to
fight off these ideas with her will (Booth 307). Her embraced feelings of independence could
have been viewed as forbidden. Although she is excited by these thoughts, she tries to resist the
pleasure she truly feels when she realizes the freedom that she has gained. The words free, free,
free! escaped from her mouth (Booth307). She attempted to hold back the overwhelming desires
for her own life. Perhaps she is hesitant to welcome these feelings because of the public view on
women s rights, and the potential consequences for those who opposed such views. Despite the
faithfulness and love Mrs. Mallard showed for her husband, the extreme relief she felt in no longer
having a marital obligation overpowered her feelings of sadness and loss. At the end of the story,
Mrs. Mallard s husband walked through her front door in the flesh, but Mrs. Mallard s heart could
not handle the excitement. The

Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi Research Paper
Known as the invisible Sheikh and the leader of the Islamic State, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi was
born as Ibrahim Awwad Ibrahim al Badri in Samara, Iraq to religiously devout lower middle class
parents. At 44 years old, al Baghdadi has been classified as a first class terrorist and has rightly so
earned that title for the havoc and anguish that his army of followers have inflicted on the whole of
humanity. The IS leader was not the greatest of students, but excelled at Quranic recitation; he
became friends with some members of the Muslim Brotherhood that eventually led him to adopt
radical Islam. He was arrested by the U.S. army at the time of their invasion of Iraq in 2004, but
was released on the account that he seemed harmless. Needless to say,

As a result, an increasing number of vehicles have sound proof design and acoustic surrounding
systems. However, when those in car appliances operate simultaneously, it can be difficult for
drivers to detect the approach of emergency vehicles such as ambulances, police, and fire fighting
trucks. This is one of the reasons why most accidents between emergency vehicles and motorists
happen at intersections [1]. Those collisions impede the emergency service travels from reaching
the destinations on time. In the United States, it is claimed that the most frequent emergency
service cases were about emergency vehicle crashes and patient handing mishaps [2].
Even though the emergency vehicles have implemented visual device, the visual warning
mechanism cannot take effect if the receivers are not facing towards the vehicle. Many collision
incidents indicate that drivers did not recognize the coming emergency vehicles with flashing
lights and they delayed the reflection of clearing roads in urban area [3]. It is not constrained to
elderly or hearing impaired drivers. Therefore, the audible warning siren is important to prevent
collisions which are caused by drivers not responding to the sign of warning from emergency travel.
Due to the improvement of in car sound control design mentioned above, the siren can be difficult
to penetrate into the cabin of a vehicle when the distance is greater than 8 12 m [4]. Tests were
conducted to improve the audibility

The War Of The Persian War
In Ancient Greece there were many famous wars and conquerors, in every era. These wars were
all recorded in early history and lasted a couple of years. The only one that was not, or is thought
to be made up, is the Trojan War. The only things they can go off of are the stories and the ruins of
the city of Troy. Another famous war was the Persian wars. This war was the first big war between
the persian empire and Spartans/Athens. After the Persian war, the Peloponnesian wartook place,
which was led by sparta. Than in Ancient Greecethere were two main conquerors, Philip II and
Alexander. As they are father and son, Philip II did a lot less than his son Alexander. Alexander
wanted to fulfill his father s visions, which he exceeded his expectations. The trojan war took
place in 1250 B.C.E. As this war has little evidence that it happened, it was passed down through
many generations that this war took place. Many stories have the war happening in the city of
Troy. Two famous poets wrote about this war, Homer and Sophocles, which wrote the Iliad
Odyssey. These poems are part of evidence that this war took place. One of the stories has a
Wooden Horse as a gift to the Trojans, and when the horse was in the city the Spartans invaded
Troy. This war was to believe to be started by the kidnapping of the Spartan Queen, Helen, by the
Trojan prince, Paris. This ended with the Greeks winning and in some stories, the death of the
Trojan prince. The Persian war lasted from 499 B.C.E

Media s Perception Of Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery has been a hot button issue in recent years because of the debate of how far
procedures can and should go. TV shows like Botched highlight how plastic surgeries can go
wrong and make someone look fake, but that is a rarer scenario than media perceives it to be.
Because of media s prevalence in our lives, we see plastic surgeryas fake and those who seek it
faker. Not all the people who seek plastic surgeryare doing it in vain. They are seeking to better
themselves. The truth is media pushes a negative impact on the perception of plastic surgery and
hides the benefits plastic surgery can have.
Celebrities like Ariel Winter from ABC s Modern Family face ridicule within the plastic surgery
debate as described by Winter in an interview with Glamour magazine. Winter, at the age of 17,
faced societal pressure to do something about her size F breasts (Radloff 1). Winter described
her situation in the eye of the media as having so little to wear that s age appropriate which
would lead to backlash for dressing too maturely in form fitting clothes (qtd. in Radloff 3).
Social media has its own mockery. Winter described it as The Internet bullies are awful. I could
post a photo where I feel good, and 500 people will comment about how fat I am and that I am
disgusting (qtd. in Radloff 3). Winters felt as though the media targeted her based off of her
appearance rather than her accomplishments as a young actress (qtd. in Radloff 4). This behavior
by media is troublesome because it leads to people outside of high publicity criticizing themselves
and others based off of appearance, not character.
People in high publicity positions are shamed by media outlets for even discussing the idea of a
cosmetic procedure. Joan Kron, director and producer of the documentary about plastic surgery
and comediennes Take My Nose ... Please! talks about why celebrities are not quick to share their
plastic surgery in an interview with the New York Post. Kron says that Throughout history, people
have devalued those who ve had plastic surgery and discusses how this negative connotation leads
celebrities to credit their new appearance to diets and exercise rather than plastic surgery (qtd. in
Ridley 3). The negative

  • 3. The Role Of Women And Their Influence On The War Nevertheless, another vital component in The Iliad is the role of women and their influence on the war and their association with different characters. Scholar Mary R. Lefkowitz, disputes that ladies had some freedom and were under the supervisions of man. The scholar inscribes: In the Homeric epics, women seem to have little independence; they were always under the guardianship of a man, whether a husband, father, or even a son. Wives must live in their husband s cities; women like Chryseis or Briseis, who have been captured in raids, become slaves and are completely subject to their masters. (Lefkowitz 503). I concur with the writer that women do not have any force and are constrained by man. As the author noted about Chryseis been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (The Iliad I.13 14, 22 23,25 30 32). After the confrontation between Agamemnon and Chyrses, Agamemnon requests for another war prize as Lefkowitz says, The priest prays to Apollo, reminds the god of his services to him, and the gods the plague on the Greeks, so that Agamemnon is forced to return Chryseis, and as a result demands that the Greek give him another prize. (Lefkowitz 504). This causes Agamemnon to demand Achilles prize Briseis although she did not want to leave Achilles. At last a quarrel over a woman grounds Achilles to not battle for the Achaeans bringing deaths and setbacks in the war. This demonstrates women assumed a critical part in the poem. In comparison to Lefkowitz, Homer mentions in Book one of The Iliad that women are seen as property and objects for pleasure. Women are identified and used as items such as sex slaves. King Agamemnon stresses the soldiers to proceed apprehending Briseis by exclaiming; Go to Achilles lodge. Take Brises at once, his beauty Brises by the hand and bring her here. But if he will not surrender her, I ll go myself. I ll seize her myself, with an army at my back and all the worse for him! Patroclus obeyed his great friend s command. He led Briseis in all her beauty from the lodge and handed her over to the men to take away. And the two walked back along the Argive ships while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The increasing arguments amongst economists and policy makers that while stability in exchange rate promotes growth and improves standard of living, misaligned exchange rate hinders export growth causing macroeconomic instability (Adigwe, 2013). The optimal goal amongst others for devaluing naira and removal of fuel subsidy is to strike a competitive stance in the international economic system and ensure that it lingers on for period of time to be able to see the economy transitioning from a developing economy to a developed country, as it is the burning desires of most African countries for which Nigeria is a major. As an anthropology professor at Marquette University, Semeena Mulla has the qualifications to discuss forensics, but she connects her background to the cases of sexual assault victims. Mulla investigates the methods nurses use to collect and preserve evidence while simultaneously discussing the role of assault victims as patients; she argues that incorporating care and forensic investigation with one another allows victims to understand their own situations. Another point the author makes is the importance of caring for the victim during a collection of evidence rather than committing a secondary rape. Mulla explains the importance of care in terms of medicine and forensics, a different approach than my other sources. Still, her explanation of the victim s role as an active member of the medical, investigative, and forensic processes provides refreshing insight on making the victim feel represented. The Issues Facing Later Adulthood According to (Zastrow Kirst Ashman, 2016) there is a myriad of challenges facing older adults throughout their later years of life. The issues range from failing eyesight to aching joints, but the good news is that the aging process is an individual process. As a result it is also one of the world leaders in research into venom and anti venom, leading the way towards a future in which venoms may be just as much of a friend to humans as they are foe. This gives rise to the statement venoms can be both friend and foe for humans, which is presently supported by a vast wealth of scientific research and anecdotal evidence. The stimulus response model shown in Figure 1 gives a general sense of the interplay between these components, demonstrating the feedback loop employed in a standard homeostatic response. Figure 1 Homeostasis is typically achieved through the process of negative feedback, in which any deviation from the steady state is detected by the receptor, activating mechanisms that counteract the change. Positive feedback is another type of feedback, however it enhances the original stimulus rather than reducing it and can cause potentially damaging effects for the organism (Saladin, n.d.). Negative feedback is therefore the more common mechanism of feedback regulation. The endocrine system, for example, is particularly vital in homeostasis as it releases hormones that control the activity of the body s cells, and, through feedback regulation, is able to initiate a response that regulates the development and metabolism of most body systems and cells. Homeostasis can be altered by external influences such as nutrition, psychological health, physical health and toxins. Venoms contain toxins that affect homeostasis by targeting vital body systems, necessitating effective homeostatic regulation in order to stabilise the body s internal environment so as to avert the potential destruction of an entire system, which would shortly lead to death (Biozine, 2012). Analysis Of The Articles Of Confederation The Articles of Confederation were exactly what was asked for by the colonists they sought after a weak government with little to no control (Schultz, 2014). • 12. Tim Berners Lee s The World Wide Web Introduction In 1990, Tim Berners Lee who invented the World Wide Web and gave theoretical and technological background for a new hypertext based linked information system, pointed out the problem of keywords. Searching for a particular information, document or webpage is a far more complex and longer process then it should be, mainly because two people never seem to choose the same keyword for the same concept. (Berners Lee, 1990) This problem becomes more and more acute as we enter the age of the Social Web characterized by collaborative and continuous creation, adaptation and alteration of content. The first generation of web tools, between 1990 and 2003, allowed users to publish information on a static page which could be read using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the problem with keyword selection has remained largely unsolved, although social tagging was a big step forward. When users are searching for information on the web, they evaluate results tertieved before planning the next search procedure. When evaluating, users are able to make connections between information pieces from text, image or video based content and make associations between words. The goal of the third generation of the web is to make more data available online readable and analyzable for machines as well. The Semantic Webwill bring structure to the meaningful content of Web pages by using metadata and ontology, creating an environment where software agents can rapidly answer complex queries of users. (Berners Lee et al. 2001) The source of this environment is already there: we have huge amount of data available online. Three components help to transform existing data and store them as semantic data (Herman, 2006, 2008): Universal Resource Identifier (URI) which is a subject or an object; Resource Description Framework (RDF) triples (s,p,o) which means a labeled connection between two resources, where s , p and o stand for subject, property/predicate and object; Ontology, a common metadata vocabulary that defines the concepts and relationships used to describe and represent an area of knowledge. • 13. Patricia Lengermann s Feminist Theory 5. The feminist theory is a wide range of ideas centered from a woman perspective. Within this theory, there are many different spin offs. To begin the liberal feminist, focuses on gender differences and gender inequality. Specifically, how men benefit more in society than women. This theory keys in o the differences that are so evident in society. Gaining a lot of momentum in the 1960 s, this theory sees the inequality as a result from patriarchal and sexists patterns within institutions. Specifically, In Patricia Lengermann s chapter she claims a lot of this inequality established from injustice in labor, but it is also seen in other institutions of society like marriage, households, and government. Therefore, this theory called for change in law and custom to allow women to have their deserving equality in society. They see change for equality by the use of the state. Specifically, according to Lengermann, they fight change for equal educational and economic opportunities, and eliminate the sexist message in many public and private institutions. Another big element is liberal feminist believe inequalities between men and women are socially constructed. Although liberal feminist seek change through policy, they are often criticized of being overly optimistic. It also misses the fact that there deep structural causes to women oppression, and laws can t always just fix these problems. In a series of questions and historical facts, he builds a case for his declaration. Examination of Paul s statements provides substantiation of justification by faith supported by the apostle James teaching. Paul exposes his thesis by declaring a righteousness from God separate from the law (Rom. 3:21 [NIV]). One party is the consumer and the other party is Apple themselves. Whenever the consumer buys the product, that s when the warranty activates. From that day on, the consumer has one year to make claims that the warranty covers. After doing research online, I couldn t really find anywhere where as it would claim that the apple (MacBook) is covered by the UCC. UCC is not a federal law, so it really depends on the states that enforce these law. People use restaurants as social hangouts, places for business meetings and homes away from home, so any restaurant s customers might seem more like family than customers, but when something goes wrong, I ve found that restaurateurs quickly realize that these family members are actually part of a long term business relationship that generates high levels of risk and legal liabilities. I ve worked in the restaurant business for many years as a cook, server, chef, manager and restaurant owner and sold advertising to fine dining restaurants and major hospitality venues, so I ve learned a few things about the restaurant business that even experienced restaurateurs might miss. Restaurants face risks that can be roughly classified into financial, operating and marketing perils, and I urge restaurant owners to address each of these potential risks proactively. In today s social sharing, instant communications and litigious ecosphere, even the most scrupulous and painstaking management practices can fall short of anticipating and preventing all risks. • 22. High School Reflection Essay Have you ever just felt like high school was too easy? Well I have because I felt like the teachers just passed you on. They didn t give me a challenge like I was supposed to have and from that being, now I have to prepare myself for the college life and teach myself the things I was supposed to be taught in high school. The schoolI came from didn t have a math teacher or a history teacher all year so we just sat in the class rooms and played everyday all day and I still ended up passing and that school was Albany Early College. They told me that I would finish high school with an associate degree but all I got was a discombobulated school and an uncontrolled school. The next school I went to didn t care either. They showed me that I can skip class everyday and still pass with an A average. Despite all the things I didn t get taught in high school, I did learn some unique aspects that I can reflect on and use for college. The skills I reflect on are annotating, using the Cornell note taking system, and how to be on time for school. To begin with, the first aspect I reflect on from high school is annotating. Annotating helped me a lot when I was taking final exams and other test. This is one of the most I reflect on because I can use this skill to help me in college. I first learned how to annotate in the 11th grade when I was at Monroe Comprehensive High School. The way my teacher showed me how to annotate was to number the paragraphs then summarize the paragraphs individually, after doing that it helped me understand the passage better as if it was hard to comprehend. My teacher also told me to underline any sentences that look interesting to me and circle any words that I am not familiar with and go and look them up after I was done. But you don t just annotate and be done, but you have to go back and study what you annotated so you can get a full understanding of whatever you re annotating. Annotating is a big skill that I was taught because I can use it in other subjects other than English such as: History, Science, and other classes, but I can t annotate the same way in every subject. For example: If I annotate math the same way I do in History then my notes would be messed up because I am learning two ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Based on these factors, there should be a law prohibiting children under the age of 18 from playing violent video games. Children are addicted to violent video games, and children play them all the time, so it will have a great influence on their health. Unlike other usual games, violent video games have some unique characteristics. First, there is the excitement. Children always have to obey their parents;for example, parents tell them how long they study and when they go to bed. However, once children start playing games, they can take control of everything in the game. As a result, they can decide where to go and how many enemies they want to kill. Unlike R rated films, children actually take on a main character in a game, not just watching movies,so the unrealistic ability to control the game world makes children get excited. In addition to this characteristic, most of all violent video games have no ends. The most addicted games have no exact goals in games, this makes children play them eternally. Thus, they will never be bored with the games, and naturally enough , they enjoy playing them all the time. As a result of children s game addictions, children tend to be in a unhealth condition. For example, children have a problem with their eyesight. Since children s eyes are very sensitive, playing too much games makes their eyes excessively dry. • 37. Tartuffe, a Comedy by Molier Tartuffe is one of the most famous comedies written by the French playwright MoliГЁre. The play tells the story of a wealthy Frenchman named Orgon who takes in Tartuffe, a man who presents himself to be religious and passionate but actually turns out to be a hypocrite. Despite his family s warnings, Orgon completely turns his back on his family in order to protect Tartuffe, who betrays him. During that time the play was first written and performed, many people, along with King Louis XIV himself, enjoyed the play. However, to others it was seen as being critical of religion and the church, which then lead to it being banned. In a political sense, Tartuffe serves as both an endorsement and critique of the ideas of absolutism, divine right,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In those times, religion was hard to separate from politics and other aspects. Tartuffe was able to fool people by claiming to be a devout man of God. If this were to happen with the King s advisors, it could cause corruption throughout many parts of the kingdom. MoliГЁre does believe that the King should seek advice from others, but he warns that he should listen to many opinions and think carefully before making a final decision. The divine right theory claims that the monarchs are specially selected by God to rule the kingdom. Consequently, the King is responsible for his own actions and decisions. However, God is the only one who can make judgments. So even if the King rules unfairly, that does not permit the citizens to rebel against his rule. Rather, it is up to God to handle it. In Tartuffe, MoliГЁre seems to praise the King for his fairness and mercy by pardoning Orgon in the end. Due to his previous loyalty to the throne, he returned Orgon s property to him and forgave him for hiding the papers. The wise King also saw through Tartuffe s deception and hypocrisy and had him arrested. These events in the story definitely show MoliГЁre s support for King Louis XIV, as he knew that abolitionism and divine right were honest intentions to rule the kingdom fairly. Also during this time period, an emphasis was placed on patriarchal family. God has ultimate authority over all, as He is the true ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This bad water is due to pollution, and pollution comes from humans. One way water quality can be tainted is pollution from farms. Fertilizer and farm wastecan be very harmful to creek water quality. The fertilizer used on crops / fields can runoff the fields and into creeks due to lots of rain. The chemical pollutionin the water leads to high level of nitrate and phosphate. Algae uses this to grow very fast (eutrophication) and then dies and breaks down by bacteria which quickly multiple and use up all the oxygenkilling the organisms in the water (Lenntech, 1998 2016). TV shows like Botched highlight how plastic surgeries can go wrong and make someone look fake, but that is a rarer scenario than media perceives it to be. Because of media s prevalence in our lives, we see plastic surgeryas fake and those who seek it faker. Not all the people who seek plastic surgeryare doing it in vain. They are seeking to better themselves. The truth is media pushes a negative impact on the perception of plastic surgery and hides the benefits plastic surgery can have. Celebrities like Ariel Winter from ABC s Modern Family face ridicule within the plastic surgery debate as described by Winter in an interview with Glamour magazine. Winter, at the age of 17, faced societal pressure to do something about her size F breasts (Radloff 1). Winter described her situation in the eye of the media as having so little to wear that s age appropriate which would lead to backlash for dressing too maturely in form fitting clothes (qtd. in Radloff 3). Social media has its own mockery. Winter described it as The Internet bullies are awful.
