Introduction of Amul PET Industries
Established as a Sole Proprietorship firm in the year 2018. “Amul Pet Industries” are a
leading Manufacturer of a wide range of Plastic Jars, Chemical Plastic Bottle, Plastic
Cosmetic Bottle, Plastic Water Bottle, etc. Situated in Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India).
They have constructed a wide and well functional infrastructural unit that plays an important
role in the growth of the company. They offer all these products at reasonable rates and
deliver these within the promised time-frame.
Under the headship of our mentor “Mr. Smit Sheth”, they have gained a huge client across
the nation.

through AutoCAD software.
 Product range: minimum 20 ML to 5 Litres
 Product Life cycle: Introduction Stage
 Product Order received: India mart and Ahmadabad customer

 The owner get an Idea about product from colleagues and manager of previous
Organization and online sources.
 The company have ability to carry out the Idea.
 Product will useful for store many purpose like food items, medicine, pesticides, water,
cosmetics, and chemicals.
 These product specifications are best way to meet customer requirements
 This Product meet the customer expectation
 They provide On the Job training to workers after joining.
 They are on Breakeven Point.

 Quality Management:
 They check the quality in laboratory according to the requirement of customers
 Continuous improvement: Plan, DO, Check, and Act
 Benchmark: Raw material according to special requirements and they set benchmark
for product shape.
 Inspection on daily basis.

 Location Strategy:
 Due to GIDC area water supply is easily available
 Easily get raw material on low cost from whole sellers
 There are easily available transportation facilities and also get the labour at cheap rate.
 They got sufficient space for their production.

 Layout Strategy:
There are four machines:
1. One Water cooling machine
2. One Air Compressor
3. Two PET stretch blow Moulding machine
4. Packing by hand
 There are process oriented layout.
 Low volume and high variety according to customers demand.
 All the five machines are grouped together.

 Capacity Planning:
 Big bottle: 1000 bottles per hour
 Small bottle: 1200 per hour
 Jar: 440 bottle per hour
 Capacity: working on full capacity

 Production Process Strategy:
There are various process strategy in this company:
1. Repetitive process strategy
 Perform sets on machine and then according to design product gets takes place and
process is finish.
 During the process water of machines needs to be cool. So for that process water
cooling machine is there.

Steps:
1. Preform from suppliers
2. Sample testing
3. Approval
4. Production process
5. Finished product
 Preform purchase from suppliers from Bangalore, Vapi, and Mumbai
 All finished products sends to Ahmedabad to customers
 They purchase from different suppliers according to special requirement and best
quality
 There are few suppliers for unique Preform according to special requirement of
customers
 They send goods by trucks to Ahmedabad
 They send goods directly to Premise of customer (On site Delivery)

 Learning from visit to organisation:
 We came to know about practical application of Operations Management concepts.
 We got the information about the whole production process and it was good learning
experience.
 We came to know about how to manage all the things with proper planning and how
to execute it efficiently.
 Conclusion:
 Amul PET Industries is one year old company and now they reach on Break Even
Point.
 Now they want to expand their business and plan to purchase new place and new
machineries.
 They follow repetitive process strategy and production takes place at full capacity
whenever needed.
 They check the product quality in the laboratory and provide certificate to the
customers.
 Supply chain management is very efficient.
 They get many advantages of their location mainly time and cost.
 Layout is proper according to the production process and all the machines are set
accordingly.
