Amrih Widodo writes a letter of recommendation for Sue Mills' application for a position. Widodo has worked closely with Mills on ANU's Indonesia In-Country program since 2008. Under Mills' administration, the program has quadrupled student numbers, courses have been redesigned to ANU standards, and cooperation with the host university has been solidified, while halving tuition costs. Mills has demonstrated strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills to achieve goals under stress and with creativity and good humor. Widodo strongly recommends Mills for the position due to her capacity, drive, and integrity.

The Year in Review report offers a glance at the work of the departments and areas that comprise Student Affairs. There is much beyond what's contained here, however. We continue to look for ways to collaborate among departments and with our colleagues across the university in efforts to creating an inclusive campus environment and a signature undergraduate experience.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I am writing in support of Ms Sue Mills’ application for a position at your institution. I have known
and worked closely with Ms Mills especially since the reestablishment of the Indonesia In-Country
program in 2008. The program has proved to be successful in which in the last five years the
number of students has quadrupled, the courses have been redesigned to match the Australian
National University’s standard, and institutional cooperation between ANU and the host
university in Indonesia, Satya Wacana Christian University, has been solidified; meanwhile the
tuition fee has been negotiated to save more than half of the actual cost for ANU. Ms Mills has
been pivotal in managing the administrative aspects of the In-Country courses and making sure
that the coordination and day-to-day operation between the two universities run seamlessly.
Ms Mills has demonstrated her organizational and administrative skills to achieve targeted results
while performing well under stress and does so to a high standard of personal creativity and good
humor. I have frequently observed Ms Mills going all the way to assist students by finding
bureaucratic solutions to provide students with best opportunities to participate in the In-
Country program. She has always been helpful, approachable, and provided timely, professional
and individualized service and advice. Institutionally, she has played an important role in
bolstering a strong tie and productive team-work with staff from Satya Wacana Christian
University to make the transfer of both students and courses results run smoothly.
Due to her capacity, personal drive and integrity, I can state with conviction that Ms Mills will be
a great asset to your organisation, hence I strongly recommend her for the position.
Sincerely,
Amrih Widodo
Co-Coordinator of Indonesia In-Country Program
