THE SIGNS BEFORE THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT
Ayaat and Ahaadeeth about the Hour
Author: Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer Hadeeth
Presentation prepared by Sarandib Muslims.com
The Meaning of the Qur'an is a fresh English rendering of Tafhim-ul-Qur’an, Maulana Syed Abu Ala Moududi’s monumental and masterly Urdu translation of the Qur’an and a selection of his commentary. The translator has undertaken the delicate and difficult task of rendering this work in English under the guidance of the Maulana himself. Here is a work with a difference, by a dedicated scholar of an entirely different sort. An immense wealth of profound understanding of the Qur’an is here, a vast treasure of knowledge and deep insight, and a valuable exposition of some social, political, economic and legal teachings of the Qur’an.
This comprehensive Tafsir answers contemporary questions, and makes the Qur’an fully relevant to the concerns of day, yet it loses nothing of its timelessness nor sacrifices any of the traditional understanding. It demonstrates the unity and coherence of the Qur’an by centring everything on its message, like gems hung on a single string.
This Tafsir is particularly suitable for Muslims with no direct access to the Arabic original.

What does “Islam” mean?
The word الإسلام [Islam] is an infinitive word derived from س ل م [silm] root in if‘al pattern and used as noun and infinitive. The word silm means “release/keeping away; and to be distant from fear, doubt, trouble, lack of peace, unhappiness, fight, war, pain, suffering, material and spiritual inconveniences, weakness and decaying, and all the negativities.” This word is also the root of salim, selam, teslim, Islam etc. The word’s “Islam” form means “strengthening” [removal from problems, worries, fear, unhappiness, fights, wars, and similar negative things]. Hence, the religion Islam means the “the religion that strengthens humans [entire range of principles that protects and secures people by putting a distance between them and problems, worries, war, weakness, spiritual illness, unhappiness, and similar things].”

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

3. AMONG THE SIGN OF ALLAH IS THAT EVERY
SOUL SHALL HAVE A TASTE OF DEATH
Al-Anbiyaa 21:35 Every soul
shall have a taste of death:
And We test you by evil and
by good by way of trial: to
Us must you return.
4. • Ar-Rum 30:58. And indeed We have
set forth for mankind, in this Qur'ân
every kind of parable.
• But if you (O Muhammad ) bring to
them any sign or proof, (as an
evidence for the truth of your
Prophethood),
• The disbelievers are sure to say (to the
believers): "You follow nothing but
falsehood, and magic."
5. • Ar-Rum 30:59. Thus does Allâh
seal up the hearts of those
who know not [the proofs and
evidence of the Oneness of
Allâh i.e. those who try not to
understand true facts that
which you (Muhammad) have
brought to them].
6. • Ar-Rum 30:60. So be patient (O
Muhammad). Verily, the Promise
of Allâh is true,
• And let not those who have no
certainty of faith, discourage you
from conveying Allâh's Message
(which you are obliged to
convey).
7. AMONG THE SIGNS
• The Prophet said, "From among the portents of
the hour are the following:
• “General ignorance (in religious affairs) will
prevail, (religious) knowledge will decrease,
• illegal sexual intercourse will prevail,
• alcoholic drinks will be in abundance,
• men will decrease and women will increase so
much so that for every fifty women there will be
one man to look after them." [Sahi Al-Bukhari V.7 H. no.83]
8. •Prophet saying, "From among
my followers there will be
some people who will
consider illegal sexual
intercourse, the wearing of
silk, the drinking of alcoholic
drinks and the use of musical
instruments, as lawful. [S.Al-Bukhari V.7 H. no.494B]
9. THREE THINGS WHICH ONLY
A PROPHET CAN ANSWER
• When the news of the arrival of the Prophet at
Medina reached 'Abdullah bin Salam, he went to
him to ask him about certain things, He said, I am
going to ask you about three things which only a
Prophet can answer:
* What is the first sign of The Hour?
* What is the first food which the people of
Paradise will eat?
* Why does a child attract the similarity to his father
or to his mother?
10. • The Prophet said;
* "As for the first sign of The Hour, it will be a fire
that will collect the people from the East to the
West.
* As for the first meal which the people of Paradise
will eat, it will be the caudate (extra) lobe of the
fish-liver.
* As for the child, if the man's discharge precedes the
woman's discharge, the child attracts the similarity
to the man, and if the woman's discharge precedes
the man's, then the child attracts the similarity to
the woman." [S. A. V. 5 H. 275 ]
11. • Al-Maidah 5:60. Say (O Muhammad to the people
of the Scripture): "Shall I inform you of something
worse than that, regarding the recompense from
Allâh:
• Those (Jews) who incurred the Curse of Allâh and
His Wrath, those of whom (some) He transformed
into monkeys and swines, those who worshipped
Tâghût (false deities); such are worse in rank (on
the Day of Resurrection in the Hellfire), and far
more astray from the Right Path (in the life of this
world)."
12. AMONG THE SIGNS OF ALLAH, MOSES TOOK
THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL ACROSS THE SEA
• Yunus 10:90. And We took the Children of
Israel across the sea, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh)
with his hosts followed them in oppression
and enmity,
• Till when drowning overtook him, he said: "I
believe that Lâ ilâha illa (Huwa): (none has the
right to be worshipped but) He," in Whom the
Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the
Muslims (those who submit to Allâh's Will)."
13. Yunus 10:91. Now (you believe) while you
refused to believe before and you were one
of the Mufsidûn (evil-doers, corrupts, etc.).
10:92 "So this day We shall deliver your
[dead] body [out from the sea] that you
may be a Sign to those who come after
you!
And verily, many among mankind are
heedless of Our Signs!"
14. Al-Hajj 22:5 “O mankind! If ye are in doubt
concerning the Resurrection, then lo! We
have created you from dust, then from a
drop of seed, then from a clot, then from a
little lump of flesh shapely and shapeless,
that We may make (it) clear for you”.
And We cause what We will to remain in the
wombs for an appointed time, and afterward
We bring you forth as infants, then (give you
growth) that ye attain your full strength.
15. • Al-Hajj 22:5 And among you there is he
who died (young), and among you
there is he who is brought back to the
miserable old age, so that he knows
nothing after having known.
• And you see the earth barren, but
when We send down water [rain] on it,
it is stirred [to life], and it swells and
put forth every lovely kind (of growth).
16. AMONG THE SIGNS OF ALLAH HE BRINGS
OUT THE LIVING FROM THE DEAD
• Ar-Rum 30: 19. He brings out
the living from the dead, and
brings out the dead from the
living.
• And He revives the earth after
its death. And thus shall you be
brought out (resurrected).
17. • Ar-Rum 30:20. And among His
Signs is this, that He created you
(Adam) from dust, and then
[Hawwa' (Eve) from Adam's rib,
and then his offspring from the
semen, and], - behold you are
human beings scattered!
18. • Ar-Rum 30:21. And among His Signs is
this, that He created for you wives
from among yourselves, that you may
find repose in them, and He has put
between you affection and mercy.
• Verily, in that are indeed signs for a
people who reflect.
19. AMONG THE SIGNS OF ALLAH IS THE DIFFERENCE OF
YOUR LANGUAGES AND COLOURS
Ar-Rum 30:22. And among His
Signs is the creation of the
heavens and the earth, and the
difference of your languages and
colours.
Verily, in that are indeed signs for
men of sound knowledge.
20. AMONG THE SIGNS OF ALLAH IS THE SLEEP
THAT YOU TAKE BY NIGHT AND BY DAY
•Ar-Rum 30:23. And among
His Signs is the sleep that you
take by night and by day, and
your seeking of His Bounty.
•Verily, in that are indeed
signs for a people who listen.
21. AMONG THE SIGNS OF ALLAH IS THAT HE SHOWS
YOU THE LIGHTNING, BY WAY OF FEAR AND HOPE
• Ar-Rum 30:24. And among His Signs is
that He shows you the lightning, by way
of fear and hope, and He sends down
water (rain) from the sky, and therewith
revives the earth after its death.
• Verily, in that are indeed signs for a
people who understand.
22. AMONG THE SIGNS OF ALLAH IS THAT THE HEAVEN
AND THE EARTH STAND BY HIS COMMAND
• Ar-Rum 30:25. And among His Signs
is that the heaven and the earth
stand by His Command, then
afterwards when He will call you by
single call,
• Behold, you will come out from the
earth (i.e from your graves for
reckoning and recompense).
23. • THE DISBELIEVER THINK THAT WE SHALL NOT
ASSEMBLE HIS BONES
• Al-Qiyamah 75:3. Does man
(a disbeliever) think that We
shall not assemble his bones?
•75:4. Yes, We are Able to put
together in perfect order the
tips of his fingers
24. MAN DENIES RESURRECTION AND RECKONING
Al-Qiyamah 75:5. Nay! (Man
denies Resurrection and
Reckoning. So) he desires to
continue committing sins.
75:6. He asks: "When will be
this Day of Resurrection?"
25. • 75:9. And the sun and moon will be
joined together (by going one into
the other or folded up or deprived of
their light, etc.)
• Al-Qiyamah 75:7. So, when the sight
shall be dazed.
• 75:8. And the moon will be eclipsed,
26. •Al-Qiyamah 75:10. On that
Day man will say: "Where (is
the refuge) to flee?"
75:11. No! There is no refuge!
75:12. Unto your Lord (Alone)
will be the place of rest that
Day.
27. • Al-Qiyamah 75:13. On that Day
man will be informed of what he
sent forward (of his evil or good
deeds), and what he left behind
(of his good or evil traditions).
75:14. Nay! Man will be a witness
against himself [as his body parts
(skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak
about his deeds].
28. • Narrated by Abu Huraira Allah's
Apostle said, "By Him in Whose
Hands my soul is, surely (Jesus,) the
son of Mary will soon descend
amongst you and will judge mankind
justly (as a Just Ruler). (S. Al- Bukhari V. 4. Hadith 657)
29. •JESUS WILL BREAK THE
CROSS
•And kill the pigs and there will be no
Jizya (i.e. taxation taken from non-
Muslims).
•Money will be in abundance so that
nobody will accept it, and a single
prostration to Allah (in prayer) will be
better than the whole world and
whatever is in it. (S. Al- Bukhari V. 4. Hadith 657)
30. • JESUS WILL JUDGE PEOPLE BY THE
LAW OF THE QUR'AN
Narrated by Abu Huraira Allah's
Apostle said: "How will you be
when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus)
descends amongst you and he
will judge people by the Law of
the Qur'an and not by the law of
Gospel (Fateh-ul Bari page 304 and 305 Vol 7. -- S. Al-Bukhari V. 4. H. 658)
31. I SAW IN MY DREAM A MAN OF BROWN COLOR
• Narrated by Abdullah The Prophet mentioned
while sleeping near the Ka'ba last night, I saw in
my dream a man of brown color the best one
can see amongst brown color and his hair was
long that it fell between his shoulders.
• His hair was lank and water was dribbling from
his head and he was placing his hands on the
shoulders of two men while circumambulating
the Kaba.
• I asked, 'Who is this?' They replied, 'This is
Jesus, son of Mary.' [S. Al-Bukhari Hadith 4.649]
32. I SAW IN MY DREAM A MAN WHO HAD
VERY CURLY HAIR
• Narrated by Abdullah The Prophet

night, Behind him (Jesus) I saw a man who
had very curly hair and was blind in the right
eye, resembling Ibn Qatan (i.e. an infidel) in
appearance.
• He was placing his hands on the shoulders of
a person while performing Tawaf around the
Ka'ba. I asked, 'Who is this?' They replied,
'The Masih, Ad-Dajjal.“ S. Albukhari hadith 4.649

COMING OF AL-DAJJAL
• Narrated by Rabi bin Hirash 'Uqba bin 'Amr said
to Hudhaifa, "Won't you relate to us of what
you have heard from Allah's Apostle?" He said,
"I heard him saying, 'When Al-Dajjal appears,
he will have fire and water along with him.
• What the people will consider as cold water,
will be fire that will burn (things).
• So, if anyone of you comes across this, he
should fall in the thing which will appear to him
as fire, for in reality, it will be fresh cold water.'
34. • Narrated by Abdullah;
• The Prophet mentioned the
Massiah Ad-Dajjal in front of the
people saying, -Allah is not one eyed
while Messiah, Ad-Dajjal is blind in
the right eye and his eye looks like a

35. WRITTEN BETWEEN HIS EYES OF AD-DAJJAL
• Narrated by: Anas (ra) The Prophet

he warned his followers against the
one-eyed liar (Ad-Dajjal).
• Beware! He is blind in one eye and
there will be written between his
eyes (the word) Kafir (i.e.,
disbeliever)." (S. Al-Bukhari V.9 - H.- No. 245)
36. • AL-Hajj 22:1. O mankind! Fear your
Lord! For the convulsion of the Hour
(of Judgment) will be a thing
terrible!

which I have left behind!" No! It is but
a word that he speaks, and behind
them is Barzakh (a barrier) until the
Day when they will be resurrected.

Trumpet is blown, there will be no kinship
among them that Day, nor will they ask of
one another.
• 23:102. Then, those whose scales (of good
deeds) are heavy, - these, they are the
successful.
• 23:103. And those whose scales (of good
deeds) are light, they are those who lose
their ownselves, in Hell will they abide.
