12. Most people don’t think of going to work to watch
TV. Here at AEO, Associates are not only
encouraged to view the company’s latest videos,
but to share what they’ve learned with others. AEO
TV, which aired its first episode on March 11, 2010,
is designed to provide a fun, entertaining and
informative look at AEO products. Its videos are
also designed to teach selling methods to store
associates, giving them the product knowledge
they need to become successful in their jobs.
With AEO TV continuing to grow, the programs
are now viewed in nearly all AEO stores! Videos are
even translated into alternative languages for our
international partners.
The 3-5 minute episodes have three separate
channels: product videos that provide information
on how AEO products are designed and
manufactured; selling videos that provide tips and
role-playing opportunities to help associates excel;
and brand knowledge videos that give new
associates a snapshot of who American Eagle
Outfitters is as a brand.

15. JOE MEGIBOW
SR. VICE PRESIDENT/GM OMNICHANNEL ECOMMERCE
Joe joined AEO in November 2012 as our SVP/GM of Omni-Channel
eCommerce, a new position focused on ensuring we deliver the sector-
leading, technology-enabled customer experience across our channels,
globally. Prior to AEO, Joe worked as the General Manager for
Expedia.com and is recognized for building the industry-leading
customer experience in online travel.
MARY BOLAND
CHIEF FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Mary joined AEO in July 2012 from Levi Strauss and Company where
she served as CFO for Global Levi’s, for six years. In her role, she led
Finance and various operating functions across the Americas, Europe
and Asia. Prior to joining Levi’s, Mary spent more than 20 years at
General Motors Corporation where she rose to CFO.
SCOTT HURD
VICE PRESIDENT—CONTROLLER
Scott joined AEO as Vice President, Controller in January 2010 with over
18 years of General Accounting and Financial Control experience. He is
responsible for all operational accounting in multiple areas within the
company. Prior to joining AEO, Scott spent twelve years at Linens ‘N
Things, entering the company as Senior Accountant and progressing to
the position of Senior Vice President, CFO.
JUDY MEEHAN
VICE PRESIDENT—INVESTOR RELATIONS
Judy joined AEO in 2000 to develop an investor relations function for the
company. In this role, Judy leads business communications, including the
preparation of press releases, scripts, MD&A and executive presentations.
She works closely with the internal corporate communications, finance
and legal teams. Prior to AEO, Judy was an equity analyst at financial
services firm, Parker/Hunter.

17. Putting the customer first is essential in securing our
success. We continually strive to make our customer
happy in everything we do, in our corporate offices and on
our sales floor. Customer first standards are the ways we
engage with our customers on the sales floor, in the fitting
room, and at the cash and wrap. By putting our customer
first, we always make their day! Within each standard lives
the 4 “be’s”. The be’s allow us to connect to the customer
on a personal level with the customer. We use these
standards to ensure every customer has a positive
experience in every store, and to give clear steps to
succeed at work and help us recognize your success. Our
executive leadership team has even stepped in to show us
their customer first standards! In November 2013, the AEO
TV Production and AEO Store Experience teams set out in
search of American Eagle Outfitters and Aerie store
associates who were delivering great customer experience.
Our associates make every effort to go above and beyond
and it’s time we pay up! As part of our continuing contest &
recognition program, we went in to stores with undercover
actors and surveillance cameras to “catch” our associates
doing what they do best… being awesome. When
associates displayed certain customer service standards
they were eligible to win cash!

25. PERFORMANCE REVIEW: The performance
review contains three scored sections: key
accountabilities, the AEO winning edge, and
feedback. Performance reviews ensure that
a thorough evaluation of individual
performance is written and documented
based on previously discussed performance
expectations, and that the evaluation is
effectively communicated through a
performance review conversation.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Each associate
should have between 3 and 6 key
accountabilities. Each should be set around
the main functions of the role, and may be
financial or developmental in nature. This is
the area that associates should rate and
comment on their own performance across
the year.
AEO WINNING EDGE: This set of
characteristics has been developed to
demonstrate what it takes to be successful at
AEO. This is the area that associates should
rate and comment their performance across
the year based off the predetermined bullet
points within this category..
FEEDBACK: There are two feedback
sections: areas of individual strength +
distinctive/innovative accomplishments, and
opportunities for growth. This is the area
that associates should note specific feedback
from the year relating to their own
performance, with a focus on what they
perceive to be their own strengths and
unique talents.
REVIEW PERIOD: The fiscal year is February
1st
through January 31st
.
EFFECTIVE DATE: Merit increases, where
warranted, will be effective the first pay period
of April and will be reflected in the second pay
check in April.
INCENTIVE BONUS: A specific target incentive
bonus percentage is assigned by grade level.
If you are unsure of your bonus percentage
eligibility, please reference your offer letter or
most recent compensation profile.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Incentive Bonus amount for associates is the
eligible bonus percentage based on fiscal year
to date base wages earned through the end of

HOW DO I MAKE A REFERRAL?
It’s easy. For Home Office, DC, and NY Design
Center positions, email your referral to a
member of the Recruiting team.
REFERRALS MAY NOT BE:
A current associate of AEO or a person
who has been working with AEO on a
temporary, seasonal, freelance, contractual
basis, ,or anyone who was already presented
to AEO through another recruiting source. A
referral cannot be a former or current intern or
associate.
HOW DO I RECEIVE AN AWARD?
HR will notify you if your referral has been
hired. Your FAST CA$H award will be granted
for each person hired, and amount will be
determined based on the position and the
recruiting team’s discretion. Award payments
will be made within one month after the
successful referral reports to work. Keep in
mind that FAST CA$H can be revised or
terminated at any time at the discretion of
AEO, Inc. Also, the recruiting team is
responsible for the administration of FAST
CA$H and will determine amount of award.
Each resume submitted will be reviewed for
eligibility. Decisions regarding candidates’
qualifications will be determined by the hiring
manager and the recruiter. There is no limit to
the number of referrals an associate can
submit. In case of duplicate referrals, the award
will be based on the earliest date that the
recruiting team receives the referral.
