Overview of Amazon Amazon is the largest online retail store in the world. It was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994. It is partnered with many different retailers. Much of the site's popularity is because of how much the users can add to the site.
The History and Creator of Amazon Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994. It was originally operated entirely in a garage in Bellevue, Washington. It was given funding by two men named Nick Hanauer and Tom Alburg.   Within the first month Amazon was able to ship orders to all states as well as forty-eight different countries. The website originally only sold books but eventually sold more products as the site grew.
The Purpose of Amazon Amazon is meant to be an online retail store. But Jeff Bezos says that it is made to be an "online community". Much of the site relies on user input. The site has many products in many different categories. Users are able to put their own products on the site as well as give reviews on products.
Content on Amazon Content on Amazon comes from the users as well as companies partnered with the site. Products sold on the site are either from companies or from other users.
Uses for Amazon Amazon can be used by schools, businesses, and consumers. Schools can buy books and other materials from the site to use for teaching. Businesses can use the site to sell their products. Consumers can use the site to buy many different products, sometimes at a lower price than other retailers.
