This document discusses potential event ideas and celebrity involvement to raise funds for Amachi Pittsburgh. It identifies local Pittsburgh athletes who could relate to the cause and be willing to participate. 15. Event Idea #1: Tailgate
• Lead up mini events: have partner organizations host
tailgates at local high school football games, sell food
and drinks and pay to play games to raise money
• Large Event: Tailgate “Gala” for an away Steelers
game (could even be at Heinz field?)
– Host in large hall, get large screen TV’s so people
can watch the game
– Ongoing Silent Auction during game
– ½ time live auction (celebrity auctioneer?)
– Food, drinks, etc.

• This could be a good way to start off with a
smaller scale event with potential to build to
something larger
• Might be difficult and expensive to aim too high
right off the bat with getting celebrities involved
• More innovative and something a bit different
than a normal Gala
• Create goal of what you want event to be in the
future and use this event to build towards it
• Do during away game to ensure that big $$
people who have season tickets or boxes will
come

• Sell “tents”- pop up tents to big corporations- same
concept as buying a table at a Gala but instead we
could have a pop up tent and their company logo
could be printed on it-works if the event is indoor and
outdoor-if just indoor do a table sale and make a big
center piece with company logo (good advertising for
company)

• Radio Station: have a popular radio station broadcast
live from the event as well as DJ and MC live auction-
this will also create a pre event push because the
radio station can talk about it to their fans weeks in
advance

and we have a chance to ensure everyone
contributes
