Contract Electrical and mechanical project assist to the lead electrical hardware engineer
for both ground and air based system solution. Main responsibilities: -
Provide design expertise to UAV Tactical Systems to undertake the Electrical and
Hardware Design and Development.
Provide electrical design expertise, in terms of IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
and current Defense Standards.
Produce detailed interconnection wiring diagrams and schedules for Ground and
Air Systems.
Produce design specifications (from customer requirements) for hardware
procurement, using external sub-contractors (both electrical and mechanical).
Provide hardware knowledge to identify and select equipment to be used within the
system.
Provide EMC knowledge during the design phase and also at the testing phase,
based on commercial and defense standards (Def-Stan/Mil-Std/EMC Directive).
Throughout the design it is imperative that the design documentation is maintained
using the company PDM Tool (Teamcenter), this will include Bill of Material
definition, Part Structures etc.
Design and control the supply of all system cabling through the supply chain.
During my time at U-TacS I was influential in the ACU selection process allowing the main
build stage to commence on time and within budget.
