2. Verb is a word that shows
action or expresses a state of
being. Every sentence must
have a verb. A verb such as
"Go!" can be a one-word
sentence.

We wash our hands before and

My uncle wears glasses.

4. Am, are, is, was, were, be,
being, and been are all forms of
the verb be. They tell what
someone or something is, was, or
will be.

5. There are three kinds of
verbs, namely the
action verbs, linking verbs,
and helping verbs.

6. An action verb tells the action
of a sentence.
Examples: run, hop, skip, sleep,
jump, talk, snore
Mat ran to the store. Ran is the
action verb.

7. A linking verb joins the subject
and predicate of a sentence.
Examples: am, is, are, was, were
Mat was at the store. was is the
linking verb.

8. A helping verb is used with an action verb to
help the action of the sentence.
Examples: am, is, are, was, were
Mat was helping Micheal.
was helps the action verb helping.
There can be more than one helping verb in a
sentence.
