Disruptive Innovation - the key drivers behind today's unprecedented rate of ...Dino Talic
A presentation I gave at the CPA Congress in Brisbane, Australia on 11 Oct 2012. The presentation covers the topic of disruptive innovation and in particular makes a case that industries today are being disrupted at faster rate than ever before in history. I analyse the macro trends driving this acceleration in disruption and also outline how businesses can turn these into opportunities rather than threats.
The next tectonic shift is happening. A cost-effective and easily scalable workforce is now available to anyone in the world. Simultaneously, every industry is now digitised and there is a growing proliferation of cheap and scalable infrastructure - this signals disruption for many existing business models and an opportunity for those willing to act on the changes.
Attend this session to discover:
The shift occurring in the global labour market
How changes in outsourcing and the digital economy will impact your business
How your business can benefit from these changes rather than become a victim
Case studies of businesses driving value through taking advantage of outsourcing and the digital economy

Uber might provoke controversy, but there is no doubting the fact that it has been one of the most disruptive companies in the last decade. In this useful deck, our Mobile Product Strategist, Hamish Vallabh, outlines eight key things about great product design that you can learn from straight from one of the best 'habit-forming' services.
The Stackies Awards, hosted by the MarTech conference and judged by chiefmartec.com, invites marketers to submit a single 16:9 slide that visualizes how they conceive of their marketing technology stack — the different products and technologies that they have harnessed into their marketing capabilities. This year, 41 companies entered their stacks and agreed to openly share them in this deck.
The latest LUMA Display Ad Tech Landscape is a living document. While it is impossible to categorize companies across an industry into discrete categories, this is at least an attempt to organize the landscape. If you have constructive suggestions, please email them to me at tkawaja@lumapartners.com.

It's never too late to start planning your marketing strategy. Our 2015 marketing strategy & planning template walks you through the planning process and get executive approval from your boss. This guide is:
- Easy to use: We did all the hard work – just fill in the blanks.
- Direct: Includes a powerpoint that gets right to the point without the fluff.
- Tested over time: Helps organize the most complicated strategies.
- ROI-driven: Includes marketing budget recommendations.
These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course entitled Biz Models for Hi-Tech Products to analyze the business model for Uber’s taxi service. Uber’s service enables anyone to provide taxi services and it provides dynamic pricing for better matching of supply and demand. Its value proposition for potential drivers is the opportunity to work as driver on their own hours. Its value proposition for user to lower taxi fares during most times of the day and a higher supply of taxis (and higher prices) during peak demand. The customers are tech-savvy and smart phone users who value their time. Uber receives payments directly from customers and keeps a percentage of these payments as its income. Uber’s patents for a demand-price algorithm represent a barrier of entry and thus a method of strategic control.
Margaret Dawson defines integrated marketing and the required components of an integrated marketing plan. You can use this template to set up your marketing program for success. From performing a market analysis and SWOT to establishing the right strategies and objectives to establishing the right metrics - and then putting an action plan together based on all of that.
