All About Me
Luke edwards p1 All About Me
Have you ever wondered how we human beings make it in the world. Its our actions, our characteristics, our likes and our dislikes. this all separates
us from one another. Making every human being different in our own way. I am different like everybody else. I'm here to tell you why. I have great
values and some bad values. But overall I am a very kind and caring person. Thanks to my family and friends I am the way I am now. 3 reasons I am
the way I am now is because of my family who has been with me since day 1, my friends who are always super funny and fun to be with, and my
religion that shapes the way I look at life. My family Is a plays a big part in my life. Without my family i am nothing. My family means so much to

My friends are awesome. When it comes to destroying them in 2k, playing pickup basketball and having a good time, or even just hanging out and
talking about stuff. I always love being with my friends and can't see myself without them and that's why they play such a big role of the way I am
the way I am now. Lastly my religion Is my top priority in life. If it comes to that moment i'm at a party and my friends want me to smoke or drink
alcohol I look upon God and all the things I know and denied it because I know he loves me and I love him and I don't ever want to ruin that. My
religion shapes my life like no other way. If it weren't for my religion i would probably be a big jerk, but since I have god in my life I try to always be
kind and helpful and conservative to others. I have told you how I am the way I am now. And now you know why all these things mean so much to
me and give me such a boost on life. Everything that goes on in my life shapes the way I am and those main things are my family, friends and religion
that gives me my personality and my view on

Memoir
Everyone has their own stories, no matter it is meaningful or not it is their life and their memories. When I told to write a memoir about languages, I
could not come up about any ideas. So, I ask Professor for help, my Professor told us that everyone has their own stories and it is interesting, because
that is your experiences not ours. People like to hear stories, because it is not their experiences and they want to know what have you been through.
Here are little stories about myself.
I was born and grow up in China, Tianjin, a big city where just an hour away from Beijing. Since my mom wants to give me a better living
environment, and better chance of education; so, we decided to move to US. When I moved to the US in 2012, I was only sixteen years old and
barely spoke any English. Even I had learned English for all my school life in China, I still didn't understand when other talking to me. The new life
was totally different, it was tough and challenging for me. The new language environment and culture differences were giving me a hard time to fit into
this country. When I first came to Chicago; Mother and I went through a great amount of troubles trying to enroll me in a high school. Many schools
turned me down because of my lack of English skills. They wrote me a letter and send me to an ESL class at a community college.
As soon as my mother settled me down in a small apartment, she left me to work in another state. She needs to make money to support me and our
family, so I have no choice to live alone by myself. I was facing the challenge of fending for myself in a totally strange environment, where I didn't
know enough English to ask for help. When I was in China, I never had to cook, shop for groceries, and walk to school. For the first time in my
life, I had to do everything by myself. I had so little money that I could not afford to eat at restaurants every day. Therefore, I had no choice but to
cook for myself. At first, my mother was the only person I can ask for advice. But when it came to practice, it felt ten times harder than it sounds to
me. I remember practicing cutting on potatoes. My left fingers were often wrapped with Band–Aids. But I disregarded the pain and kept practicing it

What makes me, ME?
I was an ordinary girl , I wasn't a troublemaker if you will , I was quite and shy girl , but at the end of the day I felt an emptiness within myself , I was
just tired of following the beat of the world. Several times I can say that my sleep was gone and my heart was full of sorrow , I dread the pain that
was waiting for me tomorrow and when the sun revealed my broken were scattered on the ground. You see, every time I faced a mountain, that I
never faced before it seems like all I can see was the struggle. I thought I could control whatever life would throw my way, but I found myself haunted
by ghosts that lived in my past bound up in shackles of all my failures wondering how long is this gonna last. That 's why I called on the Lord I knew
it had been awhile, But I asked Lord to please hear my prayer, I needed Him like I never have before. Then He look at this prisoner and say to me
"daughter Stop fighting a fight that 's already been won" . I will admit this has brought me to my knees! His Love is so much stronger than
whatever troubles me. I can freely say that I am redeemed, He had set me free, so I shake off my heavy chains, wipe away every stain now I 'm not
who I used to be, I am redeemed. All my life I have been called unworthy, named by the voice of my shame and regret, but when I hear His whisper,
"Child lift up your head"; I remember oh God, You 're not done with me yet. I'm not ashamed

The People Who Have Influenced Me Essay example
My grandfather ! This is the first thing coming up to my mind when being asked about the one who is the most important to me! From time to time,
the caring and educating professionally of my beloved granddad grew me up.
If he had not given me opportunities to take his lessons, maybe I would not have realized that what I had to do to make my life really valuable.
Serving as a colonel in military, my granddad taught me to be disciplined– one of the most important characteristics for young people. Certainly, it was
not easy for me at the beginning. I was lazy to get up early in the morning to do exercise, go to bed in the exact time and not go out before finishing
homework. My granddad did not shout at me. He...show more content...
I never ignored the beggars who were really in harship, which was one of the ways to do charity. But no matter what I did, I should be a good child at
first. " Family is your first school," my granddad said.
As growing older, coping with more obstacles, I really needed his advice. My granddad talked with me like a true friend, openly and sympathetically.
He told me some stories when he was at the same age as me. So, from those I found out the solutions for my own troubles. The best method for me,
according to him, was self– study from books and anything around. I learned that confidence and optimism were essential for life. When I failed the
chemistry exam, I was much hopeless. My granddad asked me to read a piece of the novel:" THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA" (Earnest
Hemmingway). After reading he asked me" What have you learned from this book?" I answered him that it was impossible for the old man to fish the
big fish like that. He smiled and told me " Something that the people can not reach though they try their best, which expresses that people pine to do it
but impossible. Now come back to your state, you must know that failure is the common thing. But you will have another choices, another options,
never give up!" Right! I had to move on and continue my dream. It is my chance!
He said" We are so lucky to exist on Earth. We should try

Essay About Myself
There are three very important aspects that play a major rule in my life. They can be categorized as intellectual, social, and spiritual. My intellectual
self is interesting because I am mainly right–brained which means that I tend to use my creativity more than my mathematical skills, also making me
a visual learner. My social self consists of friends, family, and my surroundings. I spend most of my time at home with my family. Whenever I am
with my friends, I observe their behaviors and listen to their opinions. I am more of an independent type of person. Being with different people has
influenced me into appreciating different cultures and beliefs. I have learned things that have now been incorporated into my own set of beliefs and

memories are my mother reading to me, my grandfather playing his guitar, and my dad relentlessly teaching me how to ice skate, no matter how
many times I fell. The people who affect my social life the most are my family and friends. I have an extremely close family that has played a
major role in my life. They are whom I spend most of my spare time with. My family usually gathers every weekend for dinner. I am also very open
to different religions, cultures, and practices because I know many people with different backgrounds and beliefs. Since I've been influenced by
various people, I've learned at a very young age to never judge people by how they look, dress, feel, or act. I am very fortunate to have learned
these lessons, because many people still do not understand the importance of accepting differences. In a group, I prefer to listen to what others have
to say, and then contribute to the discussion. I try to listen so I am able to compare them to my own thoughts. I enjoy working in a group, because it
gives everyone an opportunity to incorporate their own ideas. My social self is most greatly influenced by my family and friends. I believe that my
spiritual self is the most important out of the three. Although I have a certain religion that I belong to and practice, I believe in a bit of

The Best Possible Version Of Myself Essay
I 'm not perfect, but I 'm becoming the best possible version of myself. At first I was very ashamed of myself, for multiple reasons, but mainly
because I haven't graduated college, that I had fallen behind my peers. However, I have nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone's path is
different. I was a "know it all," I thought I had everything figured out, but I was wrong. Failure was something I had never experienced until I was
completely on my own. Honestly, when I got to college I wanted to be a teacher, then I realized the world was a fucked–up place and I needed to do
more. I switched my major to political science. I was happy with the switch, but then I notice something was wrong with me, it wasn't just the world. I
always felt different, the way I process emotions and interact with people was a little abnormal. This became more apparent when I entered college.
In 2014, I was officially diagnosed with Bi–polar Disorder. I thought "you know what I have this mental illness, I can't live life. I was scared and
confused. I pushed my boyfriend, friends, and mother away. The only thing I had left were my negative thoughts and countless bottles of alcohol that
made going to sleep a little easier. There was a point of time where I was so overwhelmed with anxiety that I feared leaving my bedroom. I wanted to
take my life and tried several times. The saddest part of it all was I never really wanted to kill myself, I just thought it was my only opposition to
escape the pain. I

Defining Myself Essay
Sometimes a person may feel that they have no purpose in life. Finding out who you are just takes the time of sitting down and thinking of the
importance in your life. Who am I? I am Mercedes Kimberly Kingston, and I am a person with different personalities, characteristics, and identities.
The many ways, in which I identify myself, in fact, are the ways that define who I am. My Identity is something only I can fully define. I have a
little brother, which makes me a sister; I have two loving parents, which makes me a daughter; I am in college studying medicine, which makes me a
student; and I have wonderful friends in desperate need of support, which makes me a wonderful best friend. Before anything, I am a big sister to

It is seen as an essential part of learning and using what you learn in class. But when you get loads of class work and have very little time to finish it,
then it becomes an unnecessary burden. Yet, sometimes, for me, it is the fact that I procrastinate that prevents me from completing a task. For
college student, like myself who is working to pay for college, large amounts of class work usually brings lots of stress and fear of not being able
to get good grades in many of my classes. Yet, I have support from my family, friends, and some peers who encourage me to put up a good fight in
reaching my goal. I am a student that has gone through so much to get here, where I am. There were times that I had strong feelings that I would
never be in college, just because of the negative energy I forced upon myself. Since pre–K, I have had this problem that if I can't do something I just
give up, and stop trying. I still have this problem, but I have learned to get a control on it. The biggest problem was graduating from high school. I never
thought that I would ever graduate. But I knew, as a student, I should at least try and show my teachers that I am putting effort. And now, I'm in
college, studying pre–med, and hoping to become either a pediatrician, or a NFL Doctor. Growing up as a daughter to a single mom, was, I think, the
best experience ever. I was, and am still, very spoiled. I always had everything that I ever wanted. And

Essay About Myself as a Writer
I don't consider myself a very good writer. I write when I am made to or when I have something that I need to say that I can't just tell someone. I
keep a diary. Usually my diary is just a record of what I have done that day. It's not so much about my feelings. I don't really like talking about my
feelings, usually because most of the time I am confused about what exactly I am feeling. I tend to keep the feelings that I do have to myself, to protect
myself from getting hurt.

When I started my high school, I found my current best friend, Marie. We are still friends to this day; she just left for college at George Mason. So once
again I'm not with my best friend.
I'm not trying to make my life all depressing because it hasn't been all bad. And I realize that people have had things a lot worse happen to them, in
their lives, and I should be thankful for what I have. But no matter what I have I just never seem truly happy. I always have this front up, and it
seems like everything is going great, but deep inside, I'm falling apart. This comes out in my writing, and I think that writing is a good release from
all of this. I always try to do my best when it comes to my class work and my writing, but I know that my writing isn't the best by any means. I
always find it important to the best job that I can do, on school work and also in life.
I think that a lot of what got me through writing papers in middle and high school was my mom. She was so great about reading over and correcting
my papers. She stayed up many nights doing that for me. Not because she had to, but because she wanted to help me. There were so many other
things she could have been doing, but instead she was helping me, and that means a lot to me. I'm kind of nervous about doing this all on my own. I'm
excited thought o see what I can do on my own. I am so excited about starting new here, with a clean slate. I think that

Descriptive Essay About Myself
I find it extremely tough to talk about myself and my personal traits. In order for me to dIscuss who I am in an accurate manner then I must provide
some basic background information on myself and talk about the Environment I grew up in. This way people can get a better understanding of why
I am the way I am. My Background is so essential In making me myself because If I had been born under any different circumstances or grew up any
differently I would be a different person than I am today. I was born inAberdeen Scotland but raised in Fort Bend County Texas. Aberdeen and Fort

also opened my mind to new ideas. For example, in school when we work in group projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think
differently than us then work together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them.
Another factor that plays a part in why I am shaped how I am is my family's economic circumstances. I have always had access to anything I
needed and for that I have extreme gratitude because I know some people have a lot of difficulty in life. Since I was born into a family with such
good economic circumstances I have been lucky to have lots of opportunities. One Opportunity I had as a child was participating in taekwondo. I
did taekwondo until I reached a blackbelt which took years of hardwork and dedication. I had to memorize forms, Spar with other competitors and
break boards in order to continue to move up to the next level. Taekwondo also helped keep me in good shape and fit when I was younger. Another
Opportunity I am grateful for is the skill of playing the piano. At first I was not all that enthusiastic about playing it but my parents has signed me up

My Future Essay
My future is something I often think about. Most often, the questions that arise include the common doubts of "Am I doing this right?", or even the
occasional midnight philosophical questions such as "Why are we here?", and so on. For the purpose of this essay, I will focus on the factors that
have allowed me to reach this point in my life and how these factors influenced and continue to influence me, in order to provide me with a
visualization of my future.
Factors that contributed to my current life choices include the desperate want to be something greater, as well as to experience the world in ways
some could only dream of. I study hard, allowing for me to have the possibility of an early graduation. I dream big, allowing me with the
imagination to draw up plans for myself and my future. I work hard, allowing me the strength and vision to execute my plans for the future. The way
that I was raised has greatly benefited me. My parents have taught me that anything and everything is possible as long as you work hard for it despite
the what others may tell you or even if the odds are against you. Another factor that led to my current life, is the amount of time I allow myself to think
about my plans and refine them. This is extremely important because, without a solid, flexible, long–term plan, you could get lost in dreaming about
the future, and end up not accomplishing anything. Hence, many aspects of my life have been planned out with not one or two possible alternatives

Essay on I Know the Real Me
In our lives there is only one person that we really need to learn how to be kind to, care for, rely on, be honest with, and just overall love and respect,
and that person is our own self. Then with this knowledge we are capable of sharing all that we have learned with others and giving them the things we
want in return. Yet if we never learn how to respect ourselves we end up not experiencing life to the fullest. When one does not know how to
appreciate oneself they cannot truly be happy. They begin to get depressed and/or lead their own life to what, according to others, is the path they
should take. My experiences only prove the above. From the beginning of my sixth grade to about the time I started high school, I led a life...show more

Therefore my relationship with people I've known my entire life began to falter. I stopped caring about the friends that I had since I was young and
didn't even try to keep in touch with them. I had such little respect for myself that I didn't want anyone around me that cared.
Then at the start of my high school years I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't let others rule my life anymore but after years of acting a
certain way its hard to change. I knew inside that I was worth more and better then I gave myself credit for. The summer before my freshman year I
spent a month in New Orleans with my family that lives down there. During that time I was able to learn about needs, wants, and myself. Without
any of my "friends" around I began to let my real self come out. I learned that I would only be able to stay strong if I was true to myself. So when
my freshman year began I did exactly that. I joined the clubs I wanted to, dressed how I wanted to, and listened to the music I wanted to. I became
friends with people that let me be myself. People that accepted me for who I really am not who they wanted me to be. Although it was hard at times, I
had to start all over again. I lost most of my friends from middle school because we either grew apart or we realized we just weren't meant to be friends.
Then with this new sense of self I began to live a much happier life. I noticed that my relationships with everyone around me

In times, we often see things, but we don't really capture what is beyond it. In some cases, there are people who are artistic and are prone to see what

Excitement rushed through my veins as the teacher would announce my name for the best photo of the week; an unforgettable feeling that would

My Personal Identity Essay
A person's identity is shaped by many different aspects. Family, culture, friends, personal interests and surrounding environments are all factors that
tend to help shape a person's identity. Some factors may have more of an influence than others and some may not have any influence at all. As a
person grows up in a family, they are influenced by many aspects of their life. Family and culture may influence a person's sense of responsibilities,
ethics and morals, tastes in music, humor and sports, and many other aspects of life. Friends and surrounding environments may influence a person's

Society has had a limited impact on my lifestyle, mostly because I despise trends. The largest trends I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing,
attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music' is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life
off of adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects
of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a
dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some
are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in
nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong
family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. Many people would agree with that, although some people
just think that I am an absolutely crazy person who has a death wish and will not go anywhere but to the hospital or the morgue. Educational
experiences also tend to influence a person's identity. I have not had too many educational

Reflective Essay About Myself
Walking into my fifth grade classroom for the millionth time, I searched around the room to see if there was anyone like me. A girl with
chocolate skin. For as long as I can remember, I was the only one in my grade, ever since I started school. But this did not mean I did not have
friends. Caterina and I were best friends that year. She was from Venezuela, had white olive skin with long blonde hair, and light eyes. One school
day, when we were walking to P.E., she said to me "I like your hair because it stays in place." A little taken back, I was not sure if this a compliment
or not, but I said thank you anyway. Her comment had stayed with me for the rest of the day. I began to wonder why my hair grew the way it did
and if I could change it. This was, thus the beginning of my insecurities. Going to school every few months with a different hairstyle would raise a
few questions for my classmates. Different styles, such as, box braids and marley twists, would change my attitude because I no longer looked the
way I felt most of the time, ugly. But because I knew my look was only temporary, I did my best not to draw attention to myself. As I advanced
grades, I always hoped there would be someone like me. Not necessarily student. After fifth grade, I figured I might as well conquer eighth grade

Interview About Me Essay
Interview about Me Rubi Garza Texas A&M International University The purpose for this interview assessment is to measure an individual's
personality by having two interviewees who know them very well answer questions about them. The Informant Report Data approach and the
qualitative method are used for this test. The reliability, validity, and generalization of the test are examined separately in order to see how effective
they are. The results provide characteristics of the individual and a reflection of their personal thoughts about the test. The findings concluded low
degree of reliability and validity. The generalizability of the assessment was found to be moderately applicable to others. In my reflection, I concluded
a pattern from the Self interview assessment and found motivation from my interviewees' answers. The type of data used for this test was the I–Data,

What Is My Name Essay
A name is not just what you're called, it is who you are. It is what you stand for and ultimately defines you as a person. Growing up, I used to think

Narrative Essay Kindergarten
All I wanted when I was little was to have beautiful long hair. All of my dolls had hair down to their waist , and I longed to have hair like them.
Unfortunately for me, my hair did not grow very fast... at all. I was practically bald until I was three; and my hair was only about to my chin when
I was ready to start kindergarten. So there I was, on my first day at Foreign Language Academy. I was in SeГ±ora Vargas's Kindergarten class
holding on to my mom, dreading the moment she would have to leave. I had been really excited about starting school and getting to wear my navy
blue dress and my hellokitty backpack. Actually being in the classroom, however, incredibly nerve racking. Most of the parents were mingling and
asking questions to the teacher, while the kids tried to find their place. Some kids had already began to play games with one another. Others, like me,
were more shy, still clinging to their parent. In all the commotion, I noticed a girl who had the longest hair in the entire class of kindergartners. She
looked a lot like me except she had freckles, a pink cast on her arm, and the hair I had ever seen. Her hair was the same color as mine, but about
triple the length, and with more curl in it. Jealousy immediately swept over me. It seemed like this girl had everything I had ever wished for in my
entire life. I also thought casts were really cool at that time because I did not really understand that broken bones hurt, or that you couldn't really move

shown through my determination and hard work because if I didn't believe in myself I wouldn't try as hard. Last but not all, Humanistic approach sums
up my personality a little more than psychodynamic does because it involves nature vs. nurture and that kind of sums it up just saying that.
Environment and Heredity is kind of the main reasons of my attitudes and actions. In the article, Time–Limited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Briggs
conducts different forms of psychotherapy techniques to prove whether things in an adolescent's life effect different adolescents differently. His study
was a success and proved that many adolescents have different interpretations on the same issue. He read them off different problems and wanted to
see how they would interpret them. He used children in the age groups of 12–17 and it worked out. I think that the different approaches can be brought
together in some circumstances but in my case it doesn't. My personality makes more sense coming from the humanistic approach. Briggs, Stephen
(2010). Time–Limited Psychodynamic Psychotherapy for Adolescents and Young Adults. Journal of Social Work

What I Learned About Myself Essay
This class has taught me a lot about myself in such a brief period of time. I never thought I could dig as deep as I did, and have a better
understanding of who I am as a person just by writing a single essay. I was not expecting the amount of self–awareness that I gained through this class.
I really enjoyed the hermit crab essays, because they really guided me to find my true feelings. It was hard for me to get started writing at first and then
once I got started, it was almost impossible to stop. I love the feeling that I am in control of what I am writing and there are no restrictions and that
I can be vulnerable in my writing. This class really helped me show the vulnerable side of who I am. I was sometimes moved to tears while I was
writing because, I realized things about myself that I never thought to be true before. I would get so excited that I would read it to my boyfriend,
family and friends. This class was in no way easy, but it was definitely worth it for many reasons. I learned how to become a better writer, I learned
about myself as a person, and I constructed pieces of writing that I didn't know I was capable of. Some assignments became easier as time went on
because I became a stronger writer. However, I think the hardest one for me was having to write about the room I was in. It didn't interest me because
it didn't help me dig deeper into my feelings or anything of that matter. I also didn't enjoy having to respond to different pieces of writing, because it

Essay about My Life
My Life
I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and moved to California when I was very young. Before I moved to California my dad traveled back and forth for 2
or 3 yrs from California and back to Costa Rica. He spent most of his time working in the Fresno area, in the cities of Tulare, and Visalia. He says he
spent his time working in any available job including some farm labor jobs and went back to Costa Rica to spend time with us. After the second time
he left Costa Rica to come and work he did not go back. At that time, amnesty was given to immigrants in California, and he moved up north to the
Bay area to find a steady job. That is when he saved enough money for my mother, my two siblings, and I to join him in California.

I was in ESL programs until I entered junior high school. Learning the language, and trying to keep up with the class work was a challenge for me.
Having friends who spoke my language, and the English language as well was an advantage I had. Having that extra help and support really made my
school experience challenging, but exciting as well.
Remembering the support I received from those friends creates a need in me to do the same for other people. I don't only believe that the support that I
can give to migrant students as a Mini–Corps student will help them in succeeding in school, but I believe that an appreciation for school can be
gained as well, and hopefully bring insight for continuing their studies beyond high school. As I improved in my English I also grew an interest in
writing. I enjoyed my English classes, along with my math classes too. My interest grew and grew, and I joined summer girl programs. After
participating two year, I became a mentor to those new peers coming into the program. I worked with teachers in Science, and in Math classes. I also
participated in the volleyball activities, and group activities. This is when I realized I wanted to work with youth my whole life. My interest in
English, and my interest in being a role model to youth made me decide to become an English teacher, especially working with students whose first
language is not English.
Now, I am a college student. I first went to UC Santa Barbara, where I dealt with more

My Identity Essays
Over the course of my life I have had many life experiences which have made me who I am today. When I was in my middle childhood, most of
my life revolved around playing and having fun. I did not have to put forth effort in hardly any area of my life or work hard in order to achieve
specific goals. As time went on however, my own life experiences began to have an effect on me, and shape the person I am today. My life started
to change the most during middle childhood when I was around the age of seven years old. At this point in my life, I had to adjust to several big
changes. Our family was moving from our old house in the county into a new house in the city. We had to do this, because my mom had just given

As I went through elementary school I was not treated kindly by a large majority of my class. I was often the one singled out by others and
excluded from activities. I am sure this has had an effect on my personality. Although I feel Erikson's psychosocial theory is correct, I believe it can
be changed over time. At a young age, life experiences can play a large role in the shaping of a person's self–confidence and self–esteem. Even though
an individual's past might not have been pleasant, as they get older they are able to gain awareness of past events and decide which ones will
continue to have an effect on their lives (University of Illinois, 2013). The only year in elementary school I enjoyed was fifth grade. This school
year was full of encouragement and kindness from my teachers. Their constant motivation and kind words gave me the confidence to improve my
grades in school and interact more with my classmates. After fifth grade, my entire class and I left our old school, and relocated to the middle school.
This change was not the easiest for me either. While elementary school was a tame and controlled environment, middle school gave students more
freedom and was less strict on students. During middle school it was difficult for me to find a social reference group to associate myself

Personal Essay: What Motivates You?
What motivates you? In a small part, every aspect of my life motivates me to strive for my dreams. My family; parents, brothers, sisters, cousins,
nephews and nieces motivate me and push me harder to achieve my goals and aspirations. Me being the first in my family to graduate high
school, and enter into college is a tremendous amount of pressure. I want to be able to prove to them that they can reach their dreams no matter
how old or young, if they are determined. Mainly, I want to show them that everything is obtainable if you work for it. My boyfriend motivates me
to be the best verision of myself that I can be, we both chose to go to SFA together, after I stated I wasn't interested in going to college. He
motivates me to be better, faster, stronger and more determined. He teaches me to set high goals and reach them. Lastly, my coworkers motivate me
to continue to improve my already strong work ethic. As their manager, they depend on me to teach them how to succeed in our work environment.
Having people look up to me motivates me to no end. I love to set examples and be a leader to show people anything is possible. Using the table on
page 237, name 3 personality characteristics you possess and explain why? Without being redundant, three of the personality characteristics that I pride
myself in possessing are as follows: Being thoughtful: I consider myself as thoughtful because I am constantly working on making peoples' day. I

All About Me

  • 1. All About Me Luke edwards p1 All About Me Have you ever wondered how we human beings make it in the world. Its our actions, our characteristics, our likes and our dislikes. this all separates us from one another. Making every human being different in our own way. I am different like everybody else. I'm here to tell you why. I have great values and some bad values. But overall I am a very kind and caring person. Thanks to my family and friends I am the way I am now. 3 reasons I am the way I am now is because of my family who has been with me since day 1, my friends who are always super funny and fun to be with, and my religion that shapes the way I look at life. My family Is a plays a big part in my life. Without my family i am nothing. My family means so much to me, they are always there for me. They come to every sport game I have. I always love being with my friends and can't see myself without them and that's why they play such a big role of the way I am the way I am now. Lastly my religion Is my top priority in life. If it comes to that moment i'm at a party and my friends want me to smoke or drink alcohol I look upon God and all the things I know and denied it because I know he loves me and I love him and I don't ever want to ruin that. My religion shapes my life like no other way. If it weren't for my religion i would probably be a big jerk, but since I have god in my life I try to always be kind and helpful and conservative to others. I have told you how I am the way I am now. And now you know why all these things mean so much to me and give me such a boost on life. Everything that goes on in my life shapes the way I am and those main things are my family, friends and religion that gives me my personality and my view on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Example Of Autobiography About Myself Memoir Everyone has their own stories, no matter it is meaningful or not it is their life and their memories. When I told to write a memoir about languages, I could not come up about any ideas. So, I ask Professor for help, my Professor told us that everyone has their own stories and it is interesting, because that is your experiences not ours. People like to hear stories, because it is not their experiences and they want to know what have you been through. Here are little stories about myself. I was born and grow up in China, Tianjin, a big city where just an hour away from Beijing. Since my mom wants to give me a better living environment, and better chance of education; so, we decided to move to US. When I moved to the US in 2012, I was only sixteen years old and barely spoke any English. Even I had learned English for all my school life in China, I still didn't understand when other talking to me. The new life was totally different, it was tough and challenging for me. The new language environment and culture differences were giving me a hard time to fit into this country. When I first came to Chicago; Mother and I went through a great amount of troubles trying to enroll me in a high school. Many schools turned me down because of my lack of English skills. They wrote me a letter and send me to an ESL class at a community college. As soon as my mother settled me down in a small apartment, she left me to work in another state. She needs to make money to support me and our family, so I have no choice to live alone by myself. I was facing the challenge of fending for myself in a totally strange environment, where I didn't know enough English to ask for help. When I was in China, I never had to cook, shop for groceries, and walk to school. For the first time in my life, I had to do everything by myself. I had so little money that I could not afford to eat at restaurants every day. Therefore, I had no choice but to cook for myself. At first, my mother was the only person I can ask for advice. But when it came to practice, it felt ten times harder than it sounds to me. I remember practicing cutting on potatoes. My left fingers were often wrapped with Band–Aids. But I disregarded the pain and kept practicing it Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. What Makes Me, Me? Francisca Flores Dr. Lind Creative Writing 3/0916 What makes me, ME? I was an ordinary girl , I wasn't a troublemaker if you will , I was quite and shy girl , but at the end of the day I felt an emptiness within myself , I was just tired of following the beat of the world. Several times I can say that my sleep was gone and my heart was full of sorrow , I dread the pain that was waiting for me tomorrow and when the sun revealed my broken were scattered on the ground. You see, every time I faced a mountain, that I never faced before it seems like all I can see was the struggle. I thought I could control whatever life would throw my way, but I found myself haunted by ghosts that lived in my past bound up in shackles of all my failures wondering how long is this gonna last. That 's why I called on the Lord I knew it had been awhile, But I asked Lord to please hear my prayer, I needed Him like I never have before. Then He look at this prisoner and say to me "daughter Stop fighting a fight that 's already been won" . I will admit this has brought me to my knees! His Love is so much stronger than whatever troubles me. I can freely say that I am redeemed, He had set me free, so I shake off my heavy chains, wipe away every stain now I 'm not who I used to be, I am redeemed. All my life I have been called unworthy, named by the voice of my shame and regret, but when I hear His whisper, "Child lift up your head"; I remember oh God, You 're not done with me yet. From time to time, the caring and educating professionally of my beloved granddad grew me up. If he had not given me opportunities to take his lessons, maybe I would not have realized that what I had to do to make my life really valuable. Serving as a colonel in military, my granddad taught me to be disciplined– one of the most important characteristics for young people. Certainly, it was not easy for me at the beginning. I was lazy to get up early in the morning to do exercise, go to bed in the exact time and not go out before finishing homework. My granddad did not shout at me. He...show more content... " Family is your first school," my granddad said. As growing older, coping with more obstacles, I really needed his advice. My granddad talked with me like a true friend, openly and sympathetically. He told me some stories when he was at the same age as me. So, from those I found out the solutions for my own troubles. The best method for me, according to him, was self– study from books and anything around. I learned that confidence and optimism were essential for life. When I failed the chemistry exam, I was much hopeless. My granddad asked me to read a piece of the novel:" THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA" (Earnest Hemmingway). After reading he asked me" What have you learned from this book?" I answered him that it was impossible for the old man to fish the big fish like that. He smiled and told me " Something that the people can not reach though they try their best, which expresses that people pine to do it but impossible. Now come back to your state, you must know that failure is the common thing. But you will have another choices, another options, never give up!" Right! I had to move on and continue my dream. • 5. Essay About Myself There are three very important aspects that play a major rule in my life. They can be categorized as intellectual, social, and spiritual. My intellectual self is interesting because I am mainly right–brained which means that I tend to use my creativity more than my mathematical skills, also making me a visual learner. My social self consists of friends, family, and my surroundings. I spend most of my time at home with my family. Whenever I am with my friends, I observe their behaviors and listen to their opinions. I am more of an independent type of person. Being with different people has influenced me into appreciating different cultures and beliefs. A few examples of my childhood memories are my mother reading to me, my grandfather playing his guitar, and my dad relentlessly teaching me how to ice skate, no matter how many times I fell. The people who affect my social life the most are my family and friends. I have an extremely close family that has played a major role in my life. They are whom I spend most of my spare time with. My family usually gathers every weekend for dinner. I am also very open to different religions, cultures, and practices because I know many people with different backgrounds and beliefs. Since I've been influenced by various people, I've learned at a very young age to never judge people by how they look, dress, feel, or act. I am very fortunate to have learned these lessons, because many people still do not understand the importance of accepting differences. In a group, I prefer to listen to what others have to say, and then contribute to the discussion. I try to listen so I am able to compare them to my own thoughts. I enjoy working in a group, because it gives everyone an opportunity to incorporate their own ideas. My social self is most greatly influenced by my family and friends. I believe that my spiritual self is the most important out of the three. Although I have a certain religion that I belong to and practice, I believe in a bit of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The Best Possible Version Of Myself Essay I 'm not perfect, but I 'm becoming the best possible version of myself. At first I was very ashamed of myself, for multiple reasons, but mainly because I haven't graduated college, that I had fallen behind my peers. However, I have nothing to be embarrassed about. Everyone's path is different. I was a "know it all," I thought I had everything figured out, but I was wrong. Failure was something I had never experienced until I was completely on my own. Honestly, when I got to college I wanted to be a teacher, then I realized the world was a fucked–up place and I needed to do more. I switched my major to political science. I was happy with the switch, but then I notice something was wrong with me, it wasn't just the world. I always felt different, the way I process emotions and interact with people was a little abnormal. This became more apparent when I entered college. In 2014, I was officially diagnosed with Bi–polar Disorder. I thought "you know what I have this mental illness, I can't live life. I was scared and confused. I pushed my boyfriend, friends, and mother away. The only thing I had left were my negative thoughts and countless bottles of alcohol that made going to sleep a little easier. There was a point of time where I was so overwhelmed with anxiety that I feared leaving my bedroom. I wanted to take my life and tried several times. The saddest part of it all was I never really wanted to kill myself, I just thought it was my only opposition to escape the pain. I Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Yet, sometimes, for me, it is the fact that I procrastinate that prevents me from completing a task. For college student, like myself who is working to pay for college, large amounts of class work usually brings lots of stress and fear of not being able to get good grades in many of my classes. Yet, I have support from my family, friends, and some peers who encourage me to put up a good fight in reaching my goal. I am a student that has gone through so much to get here, where I am. There were times that I had strong feelings that I would never be in college, just because of the negative energy I forced upon myself. Since pre–K, I have had this problem that if I can't do something I just give up, and stop trying. I still have this problem, but I have learned to get a control on it. The biggest problem was graduating from high school. I never thought that I would ever graduate. But I knew, as a student, I should at least try and show my teachers that I am putting effort. And now, I'm in college, studying pre–med, and hoping to become either a pediatrician, or a NFL Doctor. Growing up as a daughter to a single mom, was, I think, the best experience ever. I was, and am still, very spoiled. I always had everything that I ever wanted. And Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Usually my diary is just a record of what I have done that day. It's not so much about my feelings. I don't really like talking about my feelings, usually because most of the time I am confused about what exactly I am feeling. I tend to keep the feelings that I do have to myself, to protect myself from getting hurt. I didn't have that many close friends in high school. I always was just kind of there. And I realize that people have had things a lot worse happen to them, in their lives, and I should be thankful for what I have. But no matter what I have I just never seem truly happy. I always have this front up, and it seems like everything is going great, but deep inside, I'm falling apart. This comes out in my writing, and I think that writing is a good release from all of this. I always try to do my best when it comes to my class work and my writing, but I know that my writing isn't the best by any means. I always find it important to the best job that I can do, on school work and also in life. I think that a lot of what got me through writing papers in middle and high school was my mom. She was so great about reading over and correcting my papers. She stayed up many nights doing that for me. Not because she had to, but because she wanted to help me. There were so many other things she could have been doing, but instead she was helping me, and that means a lot to me. I'm kind of nervous about doing this all on my own. For example, in school when we work in group projects we collaborate and communicate with people who think differently than us then work together to figure out whose ideas will work the best and how to improve them. • 10. My Future Essay My future is something I often think about. Most often, the questions that arise include the common doubts of "Am I doing this right?", or even the occasional midnight philosophical questions such as "Why are we here?", and so on. For the purpose of this essay, I will focus on the factors that have allowed me to reach this point in my life and how these factors influenced and continue to influence me, in order to provide me with a visualization of my future. Factors that contributed to my current life choices include the desperate want to be something greater, as well as to experience the world in ways some could only dream of. I study hard, allowing for me to have the possibility of an early graduation. I dream big, allowing me with the imagination to draw up plans for myself and my future. I work hard, allowing me the strength and vision to execute my plans for the future. The way that I was raised has greatly benefited me. My parents have taught me that anything and everything is possible as long as you work hard for it despite the what others may tell you or even if the odds are against you. Another factor that led to my current life, is the amount of time I allow myself to think about my plans and refine them. This is extremely important because, without a solid, flexible, long–term plan, you could get lost in dreaming about the future, and end up not accomplishing anything. Hence, many aspects of my life have been planned out with not one or two possible alternatives Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Essay on I Know the Real Me In our lives there is only one person that we really need to learn how to be kind to, care for, rely on, be honest with, and just overall love and respect, and that person is our own self. Then with this knowledge we are capable of sharing all that we have learned with others and giving them the things we want in return. Yet if we never learn how to respect ourselves we end up not experiencing life to the fullest. When one does not know how to appreciate oneself they cannot truly be happy. I stopped caring about the friends that I had since I was young and didn't even try to keep in touch with them. I had such little respect for myself that I didn't want anyone around me that cared. Then at the start of my high school years I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't let others rule my life anymore but after years of acting a certain way its hard to change. I knew inside that I was worth more and better then I gave myself credit for. The summer before my freshman year I spent a month in New Orleans with my family that lives down there. During that time I was able to learn about needs, wants, and myself. Without any of my "friends" around I began to let my real self come out. I learned that I would only be able to stay strong if I was true to myself. So when my freshman year began I did exactly that. I joined the clubs I wanted to, dressed how I wanted to, and listened to the music I wanted to. I became friends with people that let me be myself. People that accepted me for who I really am not who they wanted me to be. Although it was hard at times, I had to start all over again. I lost most of my friends from middle school because we either grew apart or we realized we just weren't meant to be friends. Then with this new sense of self I began to live a much happier life. The largest trends I despise are rap and hip–hop and the clothing, attitudes, and type of speech that that type of 'music' is breeding. I chose to steer away from that crowd, but it may also be because I live my life off of adrenaline. My high on life is the energy I have when I get my blood pumping, my heart pounding, and my adrenaline raging. Most aspects of my individuality reflect that very well. I love hard, aggressive music, and also guns, but my passion in life is extreme sports, whether it be on a dirt bike, a bmx bike, a snowmobile, or a snowboard. I have a strong set of morals and ethics that I have partly adopted from my parents, but some are also partly my own. My morals mostly consist of karma (being kind, caring, helpful, truthful, and considerate to others), not littering (especially in nature), respecting nature, keeping a clean and welcoming home, success that is measured with happiness and not possessions, and having strong family ties. I feel that I am very strongly rounded individual who is going to go far in life. For as long as I can remember, I was the only one in my grade, ever since I started school. But this did not mean I did not have friends. Caterina and I were best friends that year. She was from Venezuela, had white olive skin with long blonde hair, and light eyes. One school day, when we were walking to P.E., she said to me "I like your hair because it stays in place." A little taken back, I was not sure if this a compliment or not, but I said thank you anyway. Her comment had stayed with me for the rest of the day. I began to wonder why my hair grew the way it did and if I could change it. This was, thus the beginning of my insecurities. Going to school every few months with a different hairstyle would raise a few questions for my classmates. Different styles, such as, box braids and marley twists, would change my attitude because I no longer looked the way I felt most of the time, ugly. But because I knew my look was only temporary, I did my best not to draw attention to myself. As I advanced grades, I always hoped there would be someone like me. Not necessarily student. Unfortunately for me, my hair did not grow very fast... at all. I was practically bald until I was three; and my hair was only about to my chin when I was ready to start kindergarten. So there I was, on my first day at Foreign Language Academy. I was in SeГ±ora Vargas's Kindergarten class holding on to my mom, dreading the moment she would have to leave. I had been really excited about starting school and getting to wear my navy blue dress and my hellokitty backpack. Actually being in the classroom, however, incredibly nerve racking. Most of the parents were mingling and asking questions to the teacher, while the kids tried to find their place. Some kids had already began to play games with one another. Others, like me, were more shy, still clinging to their parent. In all the commotion, I noticed a girl who had the longest hair in the entire class of kindergartners. She looked a lot like me except she had freckles, a pink cast on her arm, and the hair I had ever seen. Her hair was the same color as mine, but about triple the length, and with more curl in it. At a young age, life experiences can play a large role in the shaping of a person's self–confidence and self–esteem. Even though an individual's past might not have been pleasant, as they get older they are able to gain awareness of past events and decide which ones will continue to have an effect on their lives (University of Illinois, 2013). The only year in elementary school I enjoyed was fifth grade. This school year was full of encouragement and kindness from my teachers. Their constant motivation and kind words gave me the confidence to improve my grades in school and interact more with my classmates. After fifth grade, my entire class and I left our old school, and relocated to the middle school. This change was not the easiest for me either.
