Seruds Orphanage for Girls and Orphanage for Boys were started in January 2012. We started with 5 children in 2012. Today we have 25 girls and 35 boys. The Children’s Homes are spread across 3 floors. The children are orphans, rescued street children found by volunteers, or come from very poor families or have single parents who cannot give them proper education and food. Our children call it their home. Indeed we work hard to make it so. After they have lost so much, they deserve all the security and love any normal home provides Orphanage has 2 desktop computers and 1 laptop. The children are given training in computer skills by a volunteer faculty.

This PowerPoint is for the parents to see how they can get involved within their child's school. This is vital for the success of their child. These are just ideas and plans for my school.

first response:
Hi! My name is Alina. I am a full time graduate student along with being the band graduate assistant and clarinet teaching assistant. I am in my second semester of pursuing my Master's in Music Education K-12 with the desire to teach K-8, but am willing to do high school. I love the younger age and how well I am able to connect with them. For 6 years, I worked in children's ministry at my church as the special education teacher and individual "helper". I worked mostly with children 3 years old to 8th grade that were on the spectrum from low to high functioning. This was part of my passion for including children with disabilities in all areas of worship and making them feel comfortable and welcome.
This summer I am getting married and am so very excited. He is also an educator but thankfully, he teaches World History, rather than music so we know the struggles but don't butt heads on pedagogy. I have a crazy, energetic, and loving 2.5 year old German Shepherd girl named Scout that loves to be the protector every chance she gets. Lastly, I love being crafty and creative and making things of my own but I am actually pretty bad at it.
Second response:
Hello! My name is Haley Jett. I am a full time teacher at South Shades Crest in Hoover. This is my seventh year teaching 1st grade and I’m in my final semester of grad school. My area of interest in education is early childhood. I have specifically focused on getting my degree as a Reading Specialist in order to refine my reading instruction and learn more about quality, research based instruction. I have worked with students with academic, physical, and emotional disabilities. I currently have three children in my class that are instructed through the guidance of an IEP and one that is in the testing process. The most severe of these students has Multiple Sclerosis, an autism diagnosis, and prosthetic leg. This student is a multi-needs child and has taught me a great deal about accommodation, patience, creativity in instruction, and celebrating learning at all levels.
Some fun interesting things about me are that I have a 2 year old daughter, Pacey, who keeps me busy and constantly laughing. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio but attended Auburn University where I met my college sweetheart. A fun story is that I was trained on how to scuba dive in Hawaii with Arnold Schwarzeneggar and his family my Senior year of High School. I look forward to a great semester with ...

To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter on behalf of Sierra Toppel with whom I had the pleasure of working with for
almost 2 years. When we first met, Sierra was working as a classroom teacher at the Atitlan
Multicultural Academy while I served as the Co-director of a neighboring school, Colegio PanaKids.
The teachers at both schools formed a collaborative alliance and worked closely together. What
impressed me most about Sierra was her enthusiasm and creativity in the classroom. She had a
genuine love for teaching and working with children.
Sierra is a dedicated individual with many valuable assets. She’s a team player who’s willing to share
her ideas and seek help when needed. She is articulate and respectful to both children and adults.
Sierra works well with parents, staff, and her students. She is well-liked by everyone.
Following Sierra’s job at AMA, she became my favorite substitute teacher. I knew I could rely on
Sierra to cover my classes for children ages 5-7. She sets firm limits with compassion. She activates
their curiosity and love for learning. And, she encourages children to use critical thinking skills when
solving problems. My students always benefit when Sierra teaches my classes.
Outside the classroom, I discovered Sierra had a special talent for cooking and leading a healthy
lifestyle. She enjoys exploring new recipes, spending time with family and friends, and staying
physically active. She has served as a positive role model to my own children, ages 5 & 7. My
children respect and adore Sierra. My youngest loves to be pampered with nail polish and hair styles.
Whereas, my older child enjoys playing sports and swimming as much as possible. I often call Sierra
to watch my children or take them on a local adventure while I catch my breath.
Sierra is a natural leader and knows how to take initiative. She’s both intuitive and reflective. If
something needs to be improved, she’s willing to dedicate time and energy to make any situation
better. I found this to be true in a number of difficult situations in which problems arose at work and
in the community. Sierra is an innovative problem solver. She’s not intimidated by conflict, no matter
how challenging.
I highly recommend Sierra for a position where she’s working with children and their families. She
would make a positive addition to any professional team and/or family. Please feel free to contact me
for additional information.
Sincerely,
Alison A. Kelly
