Dear sir/madam,
I am writing to enquire about employment at Rigid Containers.
I am currently and most recently the Quality Controller of RPC Containers in Rushden, managing
the quality laboratory, training staff, and coordinating operations with production and warehouse
departments. Previously, I had spent the last two years working at SATRA Technology in Kettering
specialising in quality assurance.
During my first year as a laboratory technician, I carried out tests for European and international
standards bodies for fall arrest equipment such as webbing and harnesses, and also for industrial use
gloves such as medical gloves and mechanically resistant hand protection, as well as general
materials and garments for consumers, all to determine the suitability for large scale production.
In October 2013 I applied and became a technologist for the company. For the 2 years I had been
working here in the Quality Services department, calibrating laboratory equipment for various
brands’ in-house quality control set ups. This included a great deal of testing an analysis of data as
well as the physical machinery.
This involved overseas travel for around 20 weeks a year, as well as several UK trips. I enjoyed
these incredible opportunities for experience and business education, and while I am still willing to
travel it had become difficult during my current process of settling down to maintain this level of
‘uprooting’.
Some personal achievements have included leading a team of test assessments in Bangladesh,
writing the standard operating procedure for EN 388: 2003, and more recently, being praised as a
central pivot in our recent success during an important external audit.
I have gained a great amount of personal discipline and initiative, and I have a great personal
interest in international relations and modern technologies. I believe I could be very useful to
Horiba Ltd. bringing a wide range of experience to the job.
