Aircraft assembly tooling
Aircraft assembly tooling is employed for holding the aircraft parts in space during
assembly.
Tooling is divided into two different principal groups:
fixtures ( position and hold parts during assembly)
Jigs not only position CLAMP (NOSE) AND NORMALITY, Lateral and Rotational
Alignment ,Location pin receptacle, Hooks and hold parts during assembly but
are also used to guide cutting tools. As aircraft parts have been attached to the
fixture clamps, the assembly process is engaged. The assembly process is
basically carried out by drilling holes followed by fastening. The joining elements
used in the aircraft assemblies are rivets. In detail a typical airframe assembly
process can be structured according to:
1. Pre-assembly
2. Drilling
3. Temporary fastening
4. Deburring
5. Sealant application

Jigs receiving inspection
All jigs and tools used in manufacturing, shall be inspected
prior to use for completeness, freedom from damage and shall establish
procedures to register, assure safe storage and periodically recertify all jigs
and tools, including those manufactured by the supplier in support of work
carried out.

Monitoring displacements and shape change of deformation bodies
The importance of deformation monitoring is an a give an expectation of the likely behavior of
the object being measured
The subsequence analysis approach may differ depending on whether the aim of
measurements is to
establish the change in the shape of a body which expected to deform ( for deformation
modeling )
to determine if the deformation has occurred in an object which assumed to be stable ( jig)
in an age forming tool for tools for the aircraft wing ( single point displacements and localize
shape changes with respect to stable base)
In the most tooling application the deformation measurement type is absolute , since there is
virtually always a stable set of master tooling points of known coordinate against which the
movements of the individual locator points is referred . Stability of the tool is generally
assumed , and of the critical importance is the localization of the single and multiple point
