The landscape of the national park features a large lake surrounded by mountains with forests of fir, pine, and oak trees. It is located in the province of Lleida in Catalonia, Spain and was declared a national park in 1955. The park contains over 1,400 plant species and is home to around 200 vertebrate species, including many birds, trout in the rivers and lakes, frogs, newts, and snakes.
