Women in developing nations face many hardships. They are often seen as lower class and have few rights. Violence against women, including torture and abuse, is common. In agricultural societies, men control the land and food, leaving women vulnerable to hunger. Women receive little education, harming their ability to care for their families. Some are trafficked or sold into sex slavery, where they face high levels of abuse. The treatment of women in these societies violates basic ethical rights and leads to poor health, malnutrition, and even death for many.
Gender inequality – refers to unequal treatment of individuals bases on their gender. Women in Nepal barely seek for assistance form any source for violence they have experienced. Nearly 2 out of 3 have never told anyone about it. Women’s are not dying because of the disease we cannot treat, they are dying because society have yet to make a decision that their life are worth saving.

My small contribution to remind all of us the importance of saving mankind by putting STOP to female infanticide. My presentation has some statistics to support my argument and they might be old but alarming enough and the ways to bring about the change in the mindset of people at large.
My major concern is the changing lifestyle of urban India where women themselves opt for sex determination as they prefer to have a single child and this menace gets unnoticed.
The presentation concludes with some suggestions for bringing the desired change. I hope and pray that we all get serious about this issue before it is too late
Thank You

Gender inequality refers to unequal treatment or perceptions of individuals based on their gender. It arises from differences in socially constructed gender roles.
Gender equality, also known as sex equality, sexual equality, or equality of the genders, is the view that everyone should receive equal treatment and not be discriminated against based on their gender.
2. WOMEN ARE SEEN AS LOWER
CLASS
“The most common form of violence reported in most sites
was intimate partner violence (70.9% in Ethiopia province to
15.4% in Japan city of ever-partnered women, with 9 of 13
sites above 40%)” (Devries et al, 2011)
Have no rights
Are often tortured
Scared to tell police or other about what really happened
Some men use withholding of food as abuse
This leads to hunger and malnutrition in woman
Often leads to death
3. WOMEN IN AGRICULTURAL SOCIETIES
“According to estimates made by the united
nations, women, who are one half of the worlds
population, own only one percent of the worlds
property” (Bennet)
Men control land, woman work but have no rights
Men have strength over woman
Men control food, decide when and who get’s food
Leads to hunger and malnutrition in woman
4. WOMEN GET LITTLE TO NO
EDUCATION
Woman get very little if any education
Leads to them not knowing how to take care of their
children
Will then change child’s diet not knowing what to do
Will lead to the child getting sicker and often dying
because of the mothers lack of education
5. WOMEN ARE USED AS SEX
SLAVES
“Several countries in Eastern Europe, including Moldova, are well-
known for high numbers of women who are trafficked for forced
sex work [3]. Trafficked persons are frequently subjected to high
levels of violence and abuse and at risk for symptoms of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety”
(Ostrovschi et al, 2011)
Captured and sold into trafficking or sex slaves
Husbands sell woman into trafficking or sex slaves
Live in small compact unsanitary rooms
Abused if don’t do their job
6. WOMEN ARE USED AS SEX
SLAVES
Woman don’t know any other life, captured young
Know they will be shunned upon by their
families/society of they leave
Think this is the best life they will have
Government is no help to woman
“Since return, a fifth were not in contact with either of
their parents, and less than a third of women reported
having someone in whom they thought they could
confide.” (Ostrovschi et al, 2011)
