As enterprises around the world struggle with their digital transformation efforts, many are finding that innovative digital teams are moving much faster than their hidebound IT organizations. Rather than struggling to convince traditional IT to get with the digital program, executives are taking advice from IT research firm Gartner, and encouraging existing IT to continue in their desultory ways.
However, many CIOs are realizing the dangers of following Gartner’s advice. The central challenge with bimodal IT is that it encourages IT management to shift their transformation efforts away from 'slow' IT to 'fast' digital efforts.
As cloud computing becomes a standard part of the IT repertoire, however, the bimodal divide begins to break down. True, 'fast' IT takes the cloud for granted, but even 'slow' IT finds substantial value in the cloud as well.
The result: enterprise cloud efforts become the common platform and frame of reference for all speeds of IT, breaking down the bimodal pattern that is so dangerous for organizations as they become increasingly digital.

2. THE PROJECT MISSION:
To help increase productivity and profitableness to not
less than 5000 farms and households.
To support farmers in vegetable production (both in
greenhouses and on an open field), cultivation of table
grapes, berries and medicinal herbs.
The project completion date is March 2013
4. PROJECT PARTICIPANTS:
Households Owners and Small Farmers
(from 0,05 to 5 hectares),
The small and average agricultural enterprises
which are engaged in cultivation of fruit-and-
vegetable production or wish to be engaged in
cultivation of table grapes, vegetables, berries
and medicinal herbs.
5. CROPS SUPPORTED BY UHDP:
• Table Grape
• Greenhouse vegetables
• Berries
• Medical Herbs
6. PROJECT ACTIVITIES
- Creating effective marketing system for F & V selling at more favorable
prices.
- Developing effective channels for sales, building the network from
different elements of the agrarian market: supplier – producer–
consumer.
- Increasing competitiveness of local F & V.
- Providing men, women and rural youth with equal opportunities.
- Helping in securing the investments for business development.
7. HOW PROJECT HELPS TO FARMERS:
• Training and Seminars;
• Consulting support of business development;
• Access to high value markets;
• Technical support;
• Information Services;
• Financial solutions.
8. Field Days
Field day gives to the farmers:
- Opportunity to get in touch and develop dialogue with other
farmers and experts;
- Practical, hands-on experience;
- Building trust and cooperative attitude to other farmers;
- Expanding the horizons of farmers.
This allows UHDP to influence farmers motivation, slowly
improving the mentality of Ukrainian farmers, which poses the
greatest constraint.
9. Business Trips
Using of Business (Field) Trips we are establishing business
working contacts between farmers, suppliers, buyers.
Also, it helps us to develop various forms of interaction
between members of groups.
For our farmers, it’s the great opportunity to get access to
information about new technologies
10. Seminars
We use the seminars to:
- Present new technologies;
- Exchange ideas and knowledge;
- Solve common problems together with the group;
- Discuss opinions and disagreements;
- Make comprehensible decisions, and more!
11. Trainings
We use trainings to prepare farmers for the future and make the future
strategy less prone to changes in turbulent environment (mental model).
In the course of UHDP development, trainings went:
- from predicting the future - to understanding how multiple possible
futures might be linked to decisions and actions that must be taken
today, and
- from designing the best strategy - to analyzing how robust our preferred
strategy would be under different assumptions about how the future
might unfold.
12. Competitions
This is the best way :
-to stimulate farmers to increase effectiveness and efficiency;
- to promote new varieties of table grape and berries;
- to promote Project activities
- to stimulate farmers to be involved in other project activities,
etc.
13. Individual Work (Consultations)
Farm visiting lets us:
• to acquaint the Project specialist with a famer (new client);
• to expand knowledge of the Project specialist on farmers’ problems;
• to implement the newest recommendations or to supervise their
application and to give estimation of the received results;
• to cause farmers’ interest and to stimulate them to take part in
contact with Project, etc.
14. - Relative cheapness of installation and operation
- It is easy to equip, contain and maintain
- Provides sufficient control of air temperature
- Provides immediate cooling of a crop in warm days that
prolong of F & V realization period in time
Cold Storage Installation
Project provide installation of small cold storages on base of dry containers.
Advantages of such kind storages:
15. Greenhouses Installation
The basic advantages of greenhouses provided by Project:
• modern and optimum variants for each client.
• good conditions for vegetable growing.
• durability, high quality of manufacturing.
• effective and economic covering with long term of operation.
• stability to corrosion, reliability of fastenings.
• easy and simplicity of designs assemblage
16. Gender Equality
The ultimate goal is to achieve gender equality in rural area.
It is a strategy for making women's as well as men's concerns
and experiences an integral dimension of the design,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and
programmes in all economic and societal spheres so that women
and men benefit equally.
17. - meeting and “Round Tables” with Wholesale buyers;

- sorting, packaging, storage;
- contacts with Supermarket Chains.
Marketing Issue
20. MIS is provide:
• System of analytical reports and forecast;
• Electronic trading platform;
• Electronic and SMS subscription to various
information services;
• Receive timely information on prices for F & V
on various markets;
• Fence-mending with other project
participants.
21. - Booklets and Brochures
- Recommendation on Consolidation and
Technologies of F&V Growing
- Other information resources
