4. Status of Agriculture
• Agriculture is the Primary occupation and source of
livelihood .
• Major and minor forest produce is the source of
their income.
• Production, Productivity and input efficiency shows
either marginal improvement or declining trend.
• Agriculture growth and technology adoption is low
leading slow growth/ progress.
• Enterprises based technology interventions and its
penetration is still challenging
• Prevailing crops productivity is very low.
5. Issues
• Migration of youth and women.
• Climate led traditional farming with advance technology.
• Limited marketable surplus and poor marketing link.
• Limited marketable surplus of produce.
• Limited reach of agriculture interventions & services.
• Improved technology acceptance and adoption is still
lacking.
• Community based organization functioning mechanisms
are not very effective.
• Inadequate institutional linkages.
6. Short Term Plan
• Improvements in cropping pattern to minimize the
climate and marketing risk.
• Strengthening credit delivery for improved and
profitable agriculture.
• Promoting SHG/FIGs/FPO and its functionalities.
• Up scaling the Custom hiring culture.
• Promotion of organic farming, green farming, goatary,
poultry (Kadaknath and colour Birds), lac cultivation,
sericulture, beekeeping, fisheries etc
