The document summarizes a presentation by Judith Andresen on working agile under time pressure. Some key points from the presentation include:
- Agile principles emphasize individuals, interactions, working software, and responding to change over processes, tools, documentation, and following a plan.
- Projects are time-bound efforts to achieve goals within constraints like time, resources, and quality. Business and development must work together daily.
- Teams should focus on delivering real customer value through frequent delivery of working software in short cycles, continuous customer collaboration, and adapting to changes in requirements.
- Discovering the right solution requires asking questions, focusing on core customer needs and value, and considering alternatives.
Quali alternative abbiamo? Possiamo fare veramente a meno dei progetti?
Waterfall vs Agile The basic trait of civilization is order and protocol. The chaos and non-structured attempts to build something has never resulted in a fruitful outcome in any spectrum. Software Development isn’t an exception either.

Agile Architecture (Scrum + DevOps) by Milan ChhedaAgile ME
This topic will cover about how-to build the culture of agility and collaboration using Scrum and DevOps. With the help of Atlassian tools including JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo & JIRA Service Desk, one can start small to build the culture to embrace the change and incrementally improve and evolve. Scrum and DevOps unites Agile, Continuous Delivery, Automation, and much more, to help development and operations teams be more efficient, innovate faster, and deliver higher value to businesses and customers.
The majority of all IT projects fail. They ship too late, are over budget or come with a lack of quality.
Studies show: They don’t fail because of missing technical knowledge. The failure is a consequence of missing communication and / or miscommunication.
The requirements are unclear, the change requests are even more unclear. The team doesn’t discuss emerging issues properly. Some team members recognize errors and but they do not name them, because they fear suffering disadvantages.
How can we establish an open conversation about the project aim and the progress of the project?
What do I have to do?
What should I expect from my team members?
What are our first steps into an open and fair communication, so that we are able to deliver our projects with success?
The communication between clients, project managers and developers is often difficulty. Asked for objectives & status, they will often give completely different answers.
The talk explains communication based on the 4-sides-model and explains the different project roles and their aims.
Establishing understanding will lead to successful projects.

In the beginning everything is very simple: flat (because non-existent) hierarchy, open doors, and teamwork. The larger the company is, the more employees demand for “”professionalization”". Roles and hierarchies are defined, meanwhile the company solidifies.
Instead of having fun, employees suffer in neverending meetings.
Is that necessary?
How do you remain mobility, lightness and fun while growing business?
Explores underlying principles that make Agile development work, and seeks to uncover where those principles might be in conflict with key assumptions that drive management practices.
The goal is to learn what we in the movement can do to drive positive change in our own organizations as well as in the wider world of software development. After all, there may be challenges with an Agile approach, but falling back to blind adherence to a plan-driven approach is not the answer.
Touches on how to scale Agile above the team level.
Since my first contact with Agile, as a Business Performance Manager in a large engineering company, my first thought was “Agile is not for IT!” Agile can be applied beyond IT teams and projects!
This is how my Agile journey started in 2009… with finance & Marketing teams
Let us revisit the sources, the values, principles and practices and see why Agile can go beyond IT;
and why this is a key factor in overcoming the challenges of large transformations.
Agile has become mainstream in the IT industry, since that the multiplication of Agile practices which makes Agile implementation complex and uncertain, we have started to see failure in Agile implementations.
During this presentation we will start a simplification process by going back to the source of Agile, understand what Agile is and what it is not. We will discover what is the Heart of Agile, its essence, and how it embraces management

A Practical Approach to Agile Adoption - Case Studies from Egypt by Amr Noama...Agile ME
Agile Adoption is a big organization transition project. A big bang approach to Agile Adoption involves real risks and may lead to failure. Instead, small, continuous, and valuable improvements are more viable for most organizations. In this interactive session, we will start with an overview of the Agile mindset, values and principles, and will highlight the major differences between Agile and traditional approaches to managing software projects. Then, we will explain our approach for adopting agile which is incremental and iterative in nature. Finally, we will present some case studies and will share some interesting observations and conclusions collected through working with more than 40 companies during the last 6 years.
Agile methodologies are transforming not only the way we work, but also what is expected of us as researchers. At BeyondCurious, we think that’s a good thing. In our experience, agile, iterative user experience research is the best way of conducting ux/usability research.
Why? It ensures that you’re making things that matter. Agile Research delivers rapid results to internal and client teams in as little as one week, allowing for quick pivots to align prototypes to user needs. This flexible, modular approach reduces client risk because it allows teams to test and learn. The research process iteratively informs development, and concrete, ongoing results enable rapid evolution, and ensure that you are making the best product for your end user.
Another benefit of Agile Research is that client and internal design/dev partners are part of the research team: there is no black box. This integrated team co-develops areas of inquiry, prototypes, and key questions. Agile research sprints do not produce dust-attracting research tomes. Instead, reports answer key questions, propelling product development forward with clear and targeted opportunities and recommendations. These sprints also quickly uncover additional questions that could be answered with future research to help move projects forward.
Sounds good, right? But how do you do it? How do you plan it? What kind of team do you need? How do you get recruits in so little time? What kinds of tools and techniques are best suited to agile? And what kind of mindset do you need to be able to pull it off successfully?
This presentation, given at World Usability Congress, teaches researchers, strategists, and designers how to plan and manage Agile Research, including:
Methodology
Research Approach and Planning
Recruiting
Tools and Techniques
Team
Mindset
We'll identify how teamwork, agile, and UX can work together to increase team communication, and decrease the likelihood of stalled timelines or increased scope down the line.
Attendees will learn:
1. Helpful, concrete questions to ask of other team members in collaborative settings.
2. The secret to why “silos” exist in the first place, and why they’re not always bad.

While discussing details on agile project methods only a few people recognized, that IT changed the way projects are executed. But the goal conflict between IT, Marketing & business still exists.
The talk shows a way to define shared business objectives and how to form a successful project culture in your company.
Warum fällt uns Veränderung so schwer?
