The Agartala conspiracy case was a sedition case brought against Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 34 others during the Ayub regime in Pakistan. The government alleged that the accused met with Indian officials in Agartala, India to discuss plans to separate East Pakistan from Pakistan with Indian funding and weapons. The case began in January 1968 and hearings started in June 1968. Due to public uprisings in 1969 demanding their release, the case was withdrawn in February 1969 and all accused, including Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, were unconditionally released.
