Aesop was an ancient Greek storyteller and slave who lived in ancient Rome in 550 BC. Although there are no records that Aesop wrote anything down himself, after his death people wrote down the fables they remembered him telling, which have since been rewritten, illustrated, and translated into many languages over the centuries.
