Firstly I will give a definition of each of these words:
the activity or profession of producing advertisements for
commercial products or services.
Advertising: the activity or profession of producing
advertisements for commercial products or services.
Marketing : the action or business of promoting and selling
products or services, including market research and
advertising.

DIFFERENCE
You will often find that many people confuse marketing with advertising
or vice versa. While both components are important they are very
different. Knowing the difference and doing your market research can put
your company on the path to substantial growth.
Let's start off by reviewing the formal definitions of each and then I'll go
into the explanation of how marketing and advertising differ from one
another:
Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a
persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal
presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and
potential customers.

Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of
business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the
mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products.
After reading both of the definitions it is easy to understand how the
difference can be confusing to the point that people think of them as one-inthe same, so lets break it down a bit.
Advertising is a single component of the marketing process. It's the part that
involves getting the word out concerning your business, product, or the
services you are offering. It involves the process of developing strategies such
as ad placement, frequency, etc. Advertising includes the placement of an ad in
such mediums as newspapers, direct mail, billboards, television, radio, and of
course the Internet. Advertising is the largest expense of most marketing
plans, with public relations following in a close second and market research
not falling far behind.
Abbott mead Vickers
Abbott mead Vickers is a popular advertising company
AMV BBDO is an advertising agency that works with over 85 brands, including
BT, BlackBerry, Sainsbury’s, Aviva, Walkers and Mars. AMV campaigns may
incorporate digital, social, experiential, print or broadcast media.

Abbott mead Vickers is in numerous industries because it in the
advertising industry.
Bartle Bogle Hegarty
Bartle Bogle Hegarty is a British advertising agency,
responsible for some notable advertising campaigns of
the last 30 years. The company was founded by John
Bartle, Nigel Bogle & Sir John Hegarty in 1982. Sir
John Hegarty and Nigel Bogle still lead it today,
together with worldwide CEO Simon Sherwood.
It has seven offices worldwide - London, New York,
Los Angeles, Singapore, São Paulo, Shanghai and
Mumbai. BBH employs more than 900 staff globally.
Marketing and advertising in other industries
Advertising and marketing are in every industry because they
get money for promoting them. So in that case they have to be
present in all the industries.
Some of the industries the advertising and marketing
industry are involved in are:
Television broadcasting + Radio broadcasting : through
commercials. ( not on the public service broadcasting)
Interactive media : social networks promoting
Press industry : when the companies advertise on the
newspapers

  • 2. Advertising and marketing Firstly I will give a definition of each of these words: the activity or profession of producing advertisements for commercial products or services. Advertising: the activity or profession of producing advertisements for commercial products or services. Marketing : the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising.
  • 3. ADVERTISING AND MARKETTING :THE PAGE 1 DIFFERENCE You will often find that many people confuse marketing with advertising or vice versa. While both components are important they are very different. Knowing the difference and doing your market research can put your company on the path to substantial growth. Let's start off by reviewing the formal definitions of each and then I'll go into the explanation of how marketing and advertising differ from one another: Advertising: The paid, public, non-personal announcement of a persuasive message by an identified sponsor; the non-personal presentation or promotion by a firm of its products to its existing and potential customers.

ADVERTISING AND MARKETTING :THE DIFFERENCE PAGE 2 Marketing: The systematic planning, implementation and control of a mix of business activities intended to bring together buyers and sellers for the mutually advantageous exchange or transfer of products. After reading both of the definitions it is easy to understand how the difference can be confusing to the point that people think of them as one-inthe same, so lets break it down a bit. Advertising is a single component of the marketing process. It's the part that involves getting the word out concerning your business, product, or the services you are offering. It involves the process of developing strategies such as ad placement, frequency, etc. Advertising includes the placement of an ad in such mediums as newspapers, direct mail, billboards, television, radio, and of course the Internet. Advertising is the largest expense of most marketing plans, with public relations following in a close second and market research not falling far behind.
