Adverbs are words that describe how an action is performed. Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly to the corresponding adjective. However, some adverbs are irregular. Adverbs answer questions starting with "how". Adverbs describe actions like: he answered happily, she speaks English well, and the woman screamed hysterically.
