We generally use adverbials to provide additional information about a verb or an adjective.
 
We can  use them to add information about the verb by : Describing  how  often happens. Describing  where  the action happens. Describing  when  the action happens Telling us  how long  an action continued for. ADVERBIALS
we can also use them to give extra information about adjectives, for example, by grading them. We can use them at the beginning. Between the subject and the main verb. Between an auxiliary and the main verb. In negative sentences the adverb can be placed either between the subject and a negative auxiliary or directly after the negative auxiliary.  ADVERBIALS
Degree: They tell us how much, they usually come before  the adjective, verb or adverb they qualify.  Manner: They tell us  how  something happens, they usually  occur at the end of the sentence. Place: They tell us  where  something happens, they usually occur at the en of the sentence . Time: They tell us  when  something happens, they usually go al the end of the sentence. Frequency : They tell us  how often  something happens, they usually occur before the main verb.
