Adverbs describe how, when, or where an action is performed. They are often formed by adding "-ly" to adjectives. There are three main types of adverbs: manner adverbs describe how something is done; place adverbs describe where something is done; and time adverbs describe when something is done. Examples are provided for each type along with exercises to identify adverbs of manner, place, and time in sentences.

- 2. Basically, most adverbs tell you how , where or when some things is done . In other words, they describe the manner, place or time of an action.
- 3. Commonly adverb are formed from adjectives. Some are below:- Adjectives ■ Kind ■ Happy ■ Wonderful ■ Loud ■ Sad ■ Beautiful ■ sweet Adverbs ■ Kindly ■ happily ■ Wonderfully ■ Loudly ■ Sadly ■ Beautifully ■ sweetly
- 4. Many adverbs end with “LY” you used this adverb by adding “LY” to the adjectives. FOR EXAMPLE:- Sam was feeling very lonely. She was wearing a lovely dress. It was very lively party. ‘LY’ EFFECT
- 5. Types of Adverb: 1) Adverb of Manner It descrIbes In whIch manner the actIon Is done. FOR EXAMPLE:- He was driving carelessly. Ram plays guitar skilfully. The plane landed safely. Tom was very sleepy .
- 6. EXERCISE:- choose the correct word for sentences (wonderfully, carefully, faintly. beautifully ) ■ They watched { }. ■ CAREFULLY. ■ The flower was { } made up. ■ BEAUTIFULLY. ■ She seemed { }. ■ FAINTLY. ■ The team played { }. ■ WONDERFULLY.
- 7. 2) Adverb of Place It descrIbe where an actIon Is done. FOR EXAMPLE:- The boys are playing upstairs. The dog is in the garden . It’s very sunny but cold outside.
