A general 10-week IT program utilizing Swiss balls and body mass as a resistance proved effective for improving knee proprioception as well as trunk flexion and extension strength in previously inactive individuals. The present study demonstrates that the use of body weight as a resis- tance under unstable conditions can provide significant improvements in knee proprioception (for as long as 9 months after training) and trunk strength for the untrained population that should contribute to general health and functionality.

This study investigated whether short-term strength training induces task-specific neuroplasticity at the spinal or supraspinal level. Subjects performed 4 sessions of either explosive or sustained knee extensions. H-reflexes and motor evoked potentials (MEPs) were measured before and after training during the onset of both tasks. After training, H-reflexes remained unchanged but MEP areas decreased during the onset of the trained task only, suggesting training-induced task-specific neuroplasticity occurred at the supraspinal level to improve corticospinal efficiency for the trained task.

177.25 ± 5.31 cm; body mass: 65.10 ± 5.62 kg; age: 16.85 ± 0.87 years; BMI: 20.70 ± 5.54; experience: 8.46 ± 1.49
years) was evaluated after different warm-up procedures, using 10 and 20 m tests. Subjects performed five types of a
warm-up: static, dynamic, combined static + dynamic, combined dynamic + static, and no-stretching. Subjects were
divided into five groups. Each group performed five different warm-up protocols in five non-consecutive days. The
warm-up protocol used for each group was randomly assigned. The protocols consisted of 4 min jogging, a 1 min
stretching program (except for the no-stretching protocol), and 2 min rest periods, followed by the 10 and 20 m sprint
test, on the same day. The current findings showed significant differences in the 10 and 20 m tests after dynamic
stretching compared with static, combined, and no-stretching protocols. There were also significant differences between
the combined stretching compared with static and no-stretching protocols. We concluded that soccer players performed
better with respect to acceleration and speed, after dynamic and combined stretching, as they were able to produce more
force for a faster execution.

This study investigated changes in sensory and electromyography (EMG) measurements over different regions of the quadriceps muscle before and after eccentric exercise intended to induce delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS). Surface EMG signals and pressure pain thresholds were measured at 15 locations on the quadriceps during sustained isometric contractions and at rest. After eccentric exercise, time to failure during contractions, EMG amplitude, and pain thresholds all decreased significantly and were lowest in the distal region of the quadriceps. This suggests DOMS manifestations vary by muscle region, likely due to differences in fiber morphology and architecture. The distal quadriceps may be more susceptible to further injury after eccentric exercise.

Foam rolling may help reduce delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) and enhance recovery of athletic performance after intense exercise. The study examined the effects of foam rolling on pressure-pain threshold, sprint speed, power, change-of-direction speed, and strength-endurance in 8 men after a back squat protocol designed to induce DOMS. Participants either did not foam roll or foam rolled major muscle groups immediately and 24 and 48 hours post-exercise. Foam rolling substantially reduced quadriceps muscle tenderness and largely improved sprint speed, power, and strength-endurance in the days following exercise compared to not foam rolling.
EMG of the Transverse Abdominus and Multifidus During Pilates Exercises
This study evaluated the intensity of muscle activation in the transverse abdominis and multifidus muscles during four Pilates exercises using electromyography. Eight healthy women performed exercises including shoulder bridges, leg circles, and scissors. The results found that shoulder bridges and variations extending the right or left leg produced greater co-activation of the transverse abdominis and multifidus muscles compared to other exercises. Therefore, these exercises are most effective for rehabilitating lumbar spine stability through activation of the core muscles.

The proposed training focuses on self-myofascial release, static stretching, isolated strengthening, and integration exercises for the feet, hips, and core to address imbalances and improve posture. Regular participation in the program was limited by the client's work commitments.

Resistance training can lead to improvements in strength and reverse some effects of aging in older adults. The study found increases in maximal torque of 9-37% after resistance training in adults aged 65-81. These gains were due to increases in neural drive to muscles without changes in co-activation of antagonist muscles. Resistance training also increased muscle size and altered muscle architecture, including longer fascicles and greater pennation angles. Tendon stiffness and modulus increased by 65-69% after training as well, indicating reversal of aging effects on tendons. In conclusion, resistance training can help mitigate many musculoskeletal changes associated with aging.
Prosthetic Trauma

This study investigated the effects of medical shockwave therapy on muscle activation patterns and performance in healthy athletes. in the fitness industry and are often recommended by
strength and conditioning professionals (5,6,10). There is
evidence that shows positive effects of foam rolling on range of
motion (ROM), recovery, and performance (8,9,10,14). Despite its
effectiveness, the mechanisms as to how foam rolling works are
not fully understood. However, it is likely that acute responses in
foam rolling are similar to those elicited by manual therapy, which
are thought to be neurophysiological in origin .
Whole-Body vibration therapy: an overview
Concern has been raised about whole-body vibration training (WBVT), which activates skeletal muscles by
employing vibrations rather than a mass load or dynamic exercise. As vibration massage and local vibration applied
to muscles show promising benefits, vibration treatment and exercise became widely used in rehab. Studies are
still being conducted to fully comprehend the cumulative impacts and long-term safety of this training program.
This study gives an outline of WBVT, explaining its physiology and advantages as well as some safety aspects,
contraindications, and instructions for applying it in a clinical environment.

This study examined the effects of whole body vibration (WBV) exercise on muscle strength and proprioception in females with knee osteoarthritis. Fifty-two female patients were randomly assigned to one of three groups: 1) WBV exercise on a balance board, 2) WBV exercise on a stable platform, or 3) a non-exercise control group. The WBV groups underwent twice weekly sessions for 8 weeks that progressively increased in intensity. The study found that muscle strength significantly increased in the stable platform group compared to the control group. Proprioception significantly improved in the balance board group compared to the control group. WBV exercise provided benefits to muscle strength and proprioception in females with knee osteoarthritis.

Abstract
Introduction: Sarcopenia is a progressive and generalized loss of skeletal muscle mass and strength associated with ageing. Regular exercise has been indicated to be the only strategy which consistently improves sarcopenia and physical function in elderly. The aims of this study are to review the mechanisms of sarcopenia and to evaluate the role of exercise in the elderly with sarcopenia and the current recommendations about the exercise interventions.
Discussion: Exercise significantly improve mobility, functionality, muscle mass, bone mineral density, balance and proprioception; thus, decreasing the risk of falls, increasing quality of life and reducing morbidity and mortality. Different types of exercise may be of interest in patients with sarcopenia: aerobic, progressive resistance, flexibility and balance training. Supervised or group exercise programs may be preferable for elders, with regard to both safety and compliance.
Conclusion: Sarcopenia is a strong predictor of disability, morbidity, and mortality in elderly. Anaerobic exercise seems to be the most important tool to prevent and treat sarcopenia.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).
