Program Level Design Using Eportfolios: Getting the Big Picture - Sherrie Lov...ePortfolios Australia
This presentation is grounded in the experience of an Australian School of Medicine and Health
Sciences which developed new academic programs following a program level approach to curriculum and
assessment. The intention was to design programs that provide students with a deliberate and arranged set of
longitudinal teaching, learning and assessment activities that help them see the ‘big picture’ of their programs;
something that is getting difficult with the increased modularisation and unitisation of higher education. The
presentation will outline in 20 slides how the philosophy that drives curriculum development in the School, that
of enactivism, is realised through the implementation of an e-portfolio programmatic assessment design and
implementation. In particular, the creation of a capability framework, the adoption of a program level assessment
using an e-portfolio and the development of assessment rubrics that support programmatic assessment will be
explained. The presentation will conclude with the Faculty and student voices reporting the challenges and
opportunities of such an approach and lessons learnt for the future.

Sexuality Education in Schools
Sexuality education in schools
1. Audience for webinar
The audience for the webinar is divided into three age groups. The school going students are the audience. First audience group is the middle child, the second audience group is early childhood and the third group is early adolescence forth is emerging adults. The webinar content will be highly useful because it will educate the audience about the sexuality. The sexual harassments, teenage pregnancy, and many more issues are associated with it, so there is the necessity for such type of education. The webinar content will be characterized specifically according to each age group. The middle childhood and early adolescence need some specific and limited awareness but the adolescence and emerging adults need the detailed awareness.
2. Intended Focus
The webinar focus is on that audience which doesn’t need the higher consideration of the webinar topic. There is a need to educate immature children, teenagers and adults about sexuality. It’s all about creating awareness. Today the world is modernized. The difference between male and female doesn’t matter. The co-education system created a lot of issues along its benefits. There is need to educate the students including girl and boys so they can avoid all bad activities which can lead them towards destruction. Sexuality is not all about the willingness of two people but it sometimes happened in terms of harassments.
The focus is based on the education of immature younger and teenager students who are living in the global world, studying in co-education. Parents are not advising them about the fact that they should avoid such type of relationships, predict the harassments and prevent themselves for being victimized. So, the major focus is to provide awareness to them so they can prevent all that approaches and secure themselves. The webinar focused the school educational system in which such type of awareness sessions are necessary. It has many benefits and our children can take decisions with complete consideration of good and bad.
3. Research Into Webinar Topic
The webinar topic is “Sexuality education in schools”. In recent past years, there are many issues which are get promoted without any awareness and education about sexuality. Entire families are facing a different kind of issues (Shirai, Tsujimura, Abdelhamed, & Horie, 2018). Some families children faced sexual harassments, some victimized by a rapist, some faced the teenage pregnancy, and many facing the diseases which are prevailing with sexual relationships. Sexuality education is necessary, it can eliminate the fantasy factor in which our teenager is living (Breuner, Mattson, & Health., 2016). Innocent adolescence is not aware that how much it could destroy them. How someone can make them victim without there any type of notice and awareness. In innocence and unawareness lot of children f.

This Webinar was presented as the first in a series exploring issues important to youth mentoring programs on August 17, 2010. Social media and networking offer numerous ways to professionally engage with youth, serving both program needs and youth adaptability. However, technology can also bring up questions about safety, boundaries, and appropriateness. Social Media and Mentoring: Policies, Gaps, and Boundaries explores social media and networking options and provides space for dialogue to explore safety and ethical considerations.

HELPING YOUTH FOCUS, ATTEND AND THRIVE IN THE AGE OF DIGITAL DISTRACTION
Instructor: Susan Reynolds
Current research clearly shows that sustained attention is the number one predictor of success in life and work, yet teens’ ability
to focus is diminishing due to the attention snatching allure of digital devices and technology. In this talk, Susan outlines the key
concepts required to shift teens’ focus from the virtual world of their screens to their real life of school, friends and family.
Empowering parents and teens alike, she provides strategies for the healthy use of technology, including awareness of attention,
mindfulness, and an intentional use of technology. She helps teens understand why they are so attracted to digital media, how
it’s changing their brains, and how to take their power back to learn to focus over an extended period of time.

Getting started with Genealogy
Presented by: NEHGS Director of Education
Description: Genealogy is one of the most valuable pursuits you can participate in—learning about who you are, where you
come from, and “meeting” the thousands of people who came before you, can be a rewarding and even life-changing
experience. But, how do you get started? You may have inherited family papers or research from a relative, have dabbled on a
number of websites, or started your research and have already found a few records of interest. What’s next? There are plenty of
websites, libraries, and printed sources out there, but access to all that information can leave a beginner feeling overwhelmed.
In this presentation you’ll learn how to navigate the first steps in tracing your family history and gain basic strategies for
researching and recording data. Even if you've already been doing research for a few years, you’re sure to learn a new tip or
two!

WINE & FOOD PAIRING
Taste is perhaps the most subjective of our senses. This is due to the fact that human physiology causes people to interpret tastes
in a manner unique to each individual. Add to this the now dizzying array of cuisines and wines that are available and you have a
recipe for gourmet disaster. In this one-night class, we’ll examine the concepts of how we taste and how this applies to matching
wines with food. This class will include a series of white and red wines, each paired through a food components exercise. Class
is limited to 18. NOTE: Attendees must be over 21.

WINES OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST
Instructor: Paul Malagrifa, Certified Wine
Educator
When people think about the wines from the west
coast of the US, most think California. If that’s all
you think about, then you’re missing a lot of really
good, high value wine. While Pinot Noir made a
name for itself in Oregon, many other varieties
have become stars. Washington State was home to
some of the finest Merlot-based wines, there again,
the number of killer varietals has grown
dramatically. At this tasting we will taste several
wonderful wines from Oregon and Washington
State. Attendees will need to bring their own set of
six tasting glasses or you can purchase a set from
the instructor for $35. Please let us know if you
wish to purchase glasses so that we have enough
available. Class is limited to 18.

WINES OF AUSTRALIA
Instructor: Paul Malagrifa, Certified Wine
Educator
Australia traces its wine making history back to the
early 19th century, although it has really been the
last thirty years that have put Australia on the
global wine map. Many folks only know Aussie
wines because of the cute animal labels that seem
to proliferate wine shop shelves today. While many
of these wines are fun, accessible quaffers,
Australia has much more to offer the thirsty wine
enthusiast. At this event we will examine several
wines from a number of regions of Australia,
focusing on high-quality wines that offer regional
distinctiveness and good value. Attendees will need
to bring their own set of six tasting glasses or you
can purchase a set from the instructor for $35.
Please let us know if you wish to purchase glasses
so that we have enough available. Class is limited

Instructor: Anna Magee
An entry-level introduction to folk fiddling -- concentrating on the basics of producing a pleasing sound and applying it to
simple, accessible folk tunes, the kind you might hear at an old-time New England contra dance, or an Irish pub. This class is
not about playing the "violin" with its daunting classical repertoire, and rigorous rules, but about the old-fashioned art of making
"folk" music for yourself (and with friends).
In many corners of the fiddling world, tunes are still taught almost exclusively by ear, but reading music is a valuable skill,
which will enable students to explore the great body of written folk tunes out there on their own. This class would incorporate
both reading and some ear training.
Participants will need their own violins (rentals are recommended). Short nails are required on the left (fingering) hand and
recommended on the right. Students will need to make a commitment to some practice time at home.

The term mandala is drawn from the ancient language of Sanskrit and means
"circle" when loosely translated, but a mandala is far more than a simple shape.
It represents wholeness; the connectedness of all things, and is a model for the
organizational structure of life itself. It is a universal model that reminds us of
our relation to the infinite; a world that extends both beyond and within our
bodies and minds. The circle appeals to me on a number of different levels.
Whether it is the highs and lows of daily life or the cycles of time and place; in
each case the circular form implies a beginning that is at one with the end. The
mandala appears in all aspects of life: the celestial circles we call planets as
well as conceptual circles of friends, family, and community. Chris Flisher is

Embassies program.

ZUMBA – 2 – 8 week Sessions [Updated from printed brochure]
Instructor: Lisa Bernard (Mon. & Wed.)
Instructor: Anna McNamara (Tues. & Thurs.)
Dubbed the world’s largest fitness party, the 60-minute heart pumping, dance-loving goodness has an open invite to all.
One of the first things you will notice is that students range in dance ability. Whether you can bust a move like Beyonce or were
born with two-left feet, the dance floor is an even playing field. As long as you are moving, you’re doing it right. The instructor
queues the moves…and if you can’t follow a particular move, that’s okay! Just keep moving to the beat. And…oh that beat.
Whether you know the music or not, it’s hard NOT to feel it in your bones. You will most definitely leave with at least one song
echoing in your brain, a much-welcomed earworm.
Don’t be fooled, however, by all this talk of fun. The Zumba program is most certainly a workout. You will get a good sweat on
and leave with an endorphin rush that has you craving more. Depending on how much you exert yourself, expect to burn
anywhere between 600-1000 calories!!!
