William Shakespeare was an English playwright, poet and actor born in 1564 who died in 1616. He is considered the most important writer in English literature and one of the most famous playwrights in the world. Some of his most famous plays include Twelfth Night, Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and King Lear. Twelfth Night tells the story of twins Sebastian and Viola who are separated in a shipwreck and end up in the same town, with Viola disguised as a man and pursuing Countess Olivia who ends up marrying Sebastian, believing him to be Viola.
