Editor's Notes
It all started with the ultimate goal in mind. The course goals based on teaching, learning and assessment activities, which expand to learning outcomes. The games needed some rewards, which accumulated into a final product marula beer. Throughout the activities students will be collecting marula depending on the scores obtained from the activity.
Learning unit 1 takes place in the oldest reserve and Nolwazi knows everything and everyone in it. Learning to adapt to new ways learning new ways has helped her protect her herd from poachers. Learning unit 2 takes place in Ukuthamba grasslands. LeBotswalle needs a friend after being kicked out of the sounder. The student will be his friend to navigate the online platforms.
Learning unit 3 takes place in the Savanna forest and Savaboo will assist the student to find sweet marulas and finally a sorghum badge. In Learning unit 4 students will meet a GreyGo-Away bird that loves trees so much so she prefers to stay in them all the time rather than fly in the sky. Kwadira will serve as a motivator for the student to collect many marulas and the end earn a sugar badge.
Learning unit 5 takes place in the Kruger National Park and Kuduzela knows where to find the best fruits in the game park. After going through all the activities of learning unit 5, the game is taken to another level, where all the animals should be brought together in Ms TEAMS. After creating a team, he should complete a quiz which will proof that the student has created a team. Once the student passes the quiz the lightning will hit the thorn tree and burn it down.
On the other side, Kuduzela will find his team members (Kwadira, Savaboo, LeBotswalle and Nolwazi). They will share with Kuduzela marulas they collected from Lu1 to Lu4. Together they will look for maize meal through playing a puzzle to complete the ingredients for marula beer. When they find the maize, the process of making marula beer can begin.
