 In November 1923 Hitler took his Nazi militia the storm troopers outside a beer
hall in Munich where government officials were speaking and tried to make them
declare a revolution. This failed when the officials escaped. Then the following day
Hitler took his storm troopers to march on the war ministry building. They were
fired on by the police and Hitler was captured and charged for high treason. Hitler
was charged to five years in prison but only served 9 months. During this time he
wrote Mein Kampf which dictated the path he wanted Germany to take. Hitler
became part of the Weimar Republic which is where he rose to power. In 1925
Hitler tried to get the Nazis elected into office, this didn’t work until the economy
worsened and he in his speeches he said what the now unemployed Germans
wanted to hear. In 1930 the Nazis became the second most powerful political party
in Germany, later President Von Hindenburg named Hitler the head minister of
Germany in 1933. The Nazis seized power and all other political parties were
outlawed and Hitler became the dictator of Germany.
