The Hotel Adlon Kempinski Germany replaced their halogen lighting with 7,000 GE MR16 7W LED lamps to reduce their carbon footprint and energy consumption. The LED lamps provide 25,000 hours of lifetime, 80% energy savings, and a reduction of 140,000 kWh per year. This results in a payback period of 1 year and lower operational costs.

2. Challenge.
The expectation was to replace the original halogen lighting to reduce the carbon footprint and to cut down on energy consumption of the hotel.
Additionally, superior lighting quality and ease of replacement were key.
GE solution.
Some 7000 of GE’s MR16 7W Energy Smart dimmable LED lamps were installed in 384 suits of the five star hotel. The lamps are available as a 35W and 50W halogen equivalent in multiple colour temperatures and suitable for track and recessed lighting.
