Conversation
• Conversation is one of the
techniques to improve speaking
skill.
• It establishes a link between
language and situation.
• The teacher has to interact with
the students and make them
express their thoughts and ideas
spontaneously.
• There should be topic for the two
persons to Converse over it.
• So the teacher has to begin the
conversation with the topic that
has a lot of be discursed over.
Dramatisation
• Putting some prose or poetry into
living actions
• Some persons playa a role and there
we have dramatic view of situation
• Number of scenes in prose can be
presented in dramatic form
• Involves acting, gestures, movements,
facial expressions and dialogue
expressions.
• Tell the class a story and tell each of
the groups , in which the class is
divided to enact it
• Bring the student's comprehension of
the subject matter.
• Improves good speech habits,
pronounciation,communative skills
• Develops in the students love and
appreciation for literature.
Group discussion
• Handy tool for language teacher to make every
student participate in the classroom activity.
• The teacher give a topic and separate questions
related to the topic to each group.
• Lead by a monitor and they have to discuss the
topic , everyone should express his thoughts and
opinions.
• The collection of points at the end should be
coverently order to give a complete and perfect
answer.
• At the end the leader of the group report the
answers .
• It will make the students to improve their
speaking skill to a great extent.
• It develops interactive skill resourcefulness

Story telling
• Children are very much interested and
attracted towards stories.
• Students are asked to complete short
stories that are finished partly by the
teachers.
• Imagination and creative power of the
students are improved by the stories.
• Story telling can be made through
picture charts.
• at lower classes the students can be
asked to narrate the story by sequence
of pictures.
• As the students reproduce sentence
from memory the skill of structureing
the sentences develops.
Debate
• Important co- curricular activity which
will improve the speaking skill of a
learner.
• One topic is a main issue
• Some choose to speak in its favour and
some present is views against it.
• The teacher take the students to
situation where the students may debate
over the issue.
• This type of activity will make the
students to participate in impress school
and inter school competitions.
• The listening abilities and comprehension
can be improved.
• The students learn how to organise their
ideas in a systematic way.
Interview
• The teacher and the students assume
different roles.
• students are instructed and given
adequate information .
• The interview should be conducted in an
informal manner.
• The teacher should ask question in such a
way that the students to express most
enthusiastically.
• The teacher should not ask such questions
that can lead to one word answers or
more gestures.
• The student should be made to speak in a
detail manner.
• Interview gives the students a well
modulated to accuracy and speed of
speech.
• The student speech becomes neither to
loud no to meet and neither to first not
too slow.
Role-Play and classroom dialogues
• Drama- like activity in which the students take
different roles in a typical situation.
• Interactional aspect of speaking.
• Children take events delete and pleasure in
role playing.
• Show their interest to add the role of different
characters in a play or story.
• Assume different roles and talk if there
actually performing those roles in real life.

measure the competitors depth of
knowledge rather than his
resourcefulness and eloquence.

object ,things ,incidence happenings
