Introduction to Alfresco ECM and Activiti, the open source Business Process Management Platform by Alfresco.
Presented at the Amplexor seminar on Case Management, 15 september 2011, Brussels
This session will address the business aspect of BPM as well as the technical aspects. How will BPM make your organization run more efficiently? Activiti improves the collaboration between business and IT. What is BPMN 2.0 and what can you do with it? The second part of this session is more concrete and will include some demonstrations, including; How to get your first process running. How did we make BPMN 2.0 developer-friendly? How to embed Activiti into your application?
Activiti: a developer-friendly process engineTravis Carlson
Evolved from jBPM, Activiti is an open-source workflow and process engine for Java. Unlike big-vendor BPM platforms that are traditionally bloated and targeted at business analysts, Activiti is developer-oriented, light-weight, easy to learn and manage.
Modeling your processes in Activiti makes them self-documenting, organized, and manageable. Process state is persisted to a database which creates a convenient audit log to know what happened when and can even be the basis for a Business Intelligence (BI) tool.
Activiti processes are modeled using an Eclipse plugin and managed using a simple web application. The runtime engine can either be deployed as a WAR or embedded into your Java application. An optional REST interface allows for language-agnostic and remote interaction with the process management API.
This presentation will be an overview of Activiti and the concepts involved, followed by a demo of how to model, deploy, execute, and monitor a process.

This session will look deeper into the differences between using jBPM or Activiti in Alfresco. We’ll be showing how common concepts can be mapped from jBPM to Activiti’s BPMN 2.0 modeling. This session will provide you with a better view on what it takes to migrate your existing Alfresco jBPM-processes to Activiti, embracing the standard for business process modeling.
Azure Integration in Production with Logic Apps and moreBizTalk360
In this session we will share our experience in using different Azure Integration components in a Production environment with Logic Apps. The Why? The How? And What Next?
Monitoring on premise biz talk applications using cloud based power bi saasBizTalk360
In this session, Jaidev Kunjur demonstrates how they implemented a BizTalk application monitoring solution using Azure cloud-based Power BI and multiple on-premise data sources. The goal was to quickly build an easy to use monitoring solution for the Network Operations Center team but also provide more visibility into business processes so that Production support staff (who knew BizTalk) could use this as an additional tool to track and debug performance issues. The Power BI dashboard was also used to provide daily reports to business and IT so they could see the KPIs and the value provided by BizTalk that was being used as an enterprise service bus for processing claims, billing, and policies.
In this presentation, Michael Stephenson talks about the Citizen Integrator, Microsoft Flow and also Power Apps.
The Azure-Citizen Integrator is a newer role to organizations but is expected to play an important part in the future of organizations currently going through digital transformations. He also explains how Azure Citizen Integrator can be empowered by Microsoft to deliver value to the business in a way that can be complimentary to IT strategy rather than being considered shadow IT.

The Salesforce Process Builder is a new workflow tool from the Spring’15 release recently, that helps you easily automate your business processes by providing a powerful and user-friendly visual representation of your process as you build it. One can use the Process Builder to setup complex Workflows in Salesforce which otherwise required Apex.
When compared to Workflows, the Process Builder has lot additional capabilities, like updating multiple records, posting to chatter, trigger Approval Processes, kick of Flows and much more.
Agenda:
1.What are Processes?
2. How to Created Processes?
3. Understanding the Process Builder Interface

How to Develop, Track, and Release Like a Boss Using Atlassian ToolsAtlassian
In 2015, Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., was using a traditional development approach for their internal IT front office application and releasing only every 2-3 months. But that just wouldn't cut it. The application, built on the Salesforce platform, was simply too important. When they moved to agile, the team realized they'd need to level up on communication, collaboration, and workflow automation. Intimidated, yet determined, Hitachi Vantara turned to Atlassian's cloud-based tools: Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and documentation; Bitbucket for collaborating on source code; Bitbucket Pipelines for continuous delivery; and the whole host of native integrations to tie it all together. This is the story of how they did it, and the results they achieved.

This session will demonstrate the Activiti tools in the context of the full software development cycle. Starting from business people over developers to system administrators. Activiti facilitates the collaboration between those roles in a pragmatic and new way. For the developer part, we'll briefly dive a bit deeper. With code samples we'll give you a look under the hood.
Get ready to dive into the details of Alfresco’s advanced workflow engine with members of the core Activiti team. Everything you ever wanted to know about Activiti but were afraid to ask. Stand back, because code will be slung. You may want to attend the Introduction to Advanced Workflows session before this one if you are new to the advanced workflow engine.

Abstract:
Alfresco is the leading open source enterprise content management system and two of the most appreciated aspects of Alfresco are: the wide customization model and the high quality of source code.
Alfresco is strongly based on Spring Framework and thanks to this adoption we can find many ways to extend and inject our components. In this presentation will be shown many ways to extend Alfresco features and interfaces using Spring application context configuration.
ECM and Open Source Software: A Disruptive Force in ECM SolutionsJeff Potts
Open source software is finally getting the recognition it deserves from analysts like Forrester and Gartner as a disruptive force in IT. Over the years, open source has “climbed up the stack” from operating systems to databases and now to business applications where it has established a firm foothold in the content management space. What should enterprises know about open source content management? Is it really just for Web Content Management (WCM) or does it meet the needs of broader Enterprise Content Management (ECM) deployments? Arelarge enterprises doing big, meaningful content management projects with open source or is its appeal limited to subsets of the market? What about Enterprise 2.0 initiatives? Can you assemble an Enterprise 2.0 solution from open source components? How does it compare with something like Sharepoint?
In the past, developers have chosen to develop their own content-centric apps from scratch or by leveraging low level libraries. A content repository like Alfresco can save time and cost. Even if you don't choose Alfresco, you should still consider leveraging a standard API like CMIS as much as possible.
An approach for linking Alfresco to external (non-Alfresco) applications, where Alfresco is not the core platform, but other applications are interested in Alfresco application events.
Learn how Alfresco, Jive, and SolutionSet are collaborating to deliver an Alfresco-Jive connector that brings enterprise-class repository functionality to Jive content, and allows Alfresco content to behave as native Jive content.
