English vocabulary
Walk (verb) /wɑːk/
to move along by putting one foot in front of the other,
allowing each foot to touch the ground before lifting
the next
Example: We go for a walk in the park every day.
Run (verb) /rʌn/
to move along, faster than walking, by taking quick steps in
which each foot is lifted before the next foot touches the
ground
Example: He runs really fast that nobody can catch him.
Jog (verb) /dʒɑːɡ/
to run at a slow, regular speed, especially as a form of
exercise
Example: She was walking at a very quick pace and I had to
jog to keep up with her.
Climb (verb) /klaɪm/
to go up, or to go towards the top of something
Example: It's not easy to climb this mountain.
Ride (verb) /raid/
to sit on something such as a bicycle, motorbike, or horse
and travel along on it controlling its movements
Example: Jane often rides a motorbike to work.
Jump (verb) /dʒʌmp/
to push yourself suddenly off the ground and into the air using
your legs
Example: The children were jumping up and down with
excitement.

to move the body and feet to music
Example: They are dancing happily to the music.

to make musical sounds with the voice, usually a tune with words
Example: She sings so beautifully with her charming voice.

to move your body so that the lower part of it is resting on a
seat or on the ground

to be in an upright position on your feet; to get yourself into

open:
Example: He is closing the door.

If a shop or office opens at a particular time of day, it starts to
do business at that time
Example: The store opens from 8 am to 7 pm.

When a shop, restaurant, or public place closes, people cannot
