Energy efficiency has long been promoted at European level. The European Commission has certainly made great efforts to support it and to ensure that energy savings can contribute to the EU’s energy priorities, namely reduction of carbon emissions, lowering of energy costs and increase of energy independence. The EU has introduced energy efficiency targets, created a regulatory framework to support energy efficiency and the uptake of energy efficient products and provided significant funding. However, so far energy efficiency has not lived up to its expectations, which is disappointing considering the huge amount of resources spent to promote it.

European external energy policy a liberal intergovernmentalist approach
This document is a thesis written by Jacopo Pendezza on the topic of the European External Energy Policy. It provides an overview of the theoretical framework used, outlines the hypothesis, and previews the structure of the thesis. The thesis will take a liberal intergovernmentalist approach to analyze EU member states' reluctance to delegate energy sovereignty to EU institutions. It hypothesizes that member states pursue autonomous energy relations and influence over international supplies due to opposing views with the more entrepreneurial EU Commission. A perspective on infrastructure and energy security in the transition
The report from consultants Artelys and Climact, backed by WWF and others, finds that the existing pan-European infrastructure can manage wide-ranging demand levels and potential supply disruptions. Adding much more gas infrastructure is not only unnecessary for security of supply, it also creates a risk of expensive stranded assets.

Energy Services Market: Conceptual Framework and Mechanism of Forming
The energy services market is the youngest, compared to other types of energy markets, but also the most actively expanding worldwide in two priority areas: energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. At the same time, the incompleteness of the theoretical foundations substantially slows down its development. This paper provides an overview of the legal and regulatory frameworks associated with energy services market formation, brings together conceptual ideas and innovation studies from developed countries, and offers a theoretical foundations (model) of the energy services market formation based on the synergetic combination of energy systems requirements analysis and set theory. A new organizational structure of the energy services market clients’ interaction with energy-and-fuel markets, markets of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and markets of consumers, as well as a new organizational mechanism for supporting the effective functioning of the energy services market based on a system of corresponding equations are proposed. In general, the proposed framework allows the researchers and engineers to define in more depth and more clearly the system-coordinated pathways to improve the energy services market functioning.

Energy consumption reduction and energy efficiency improvement are recognized as global priorities
in the context of the green economy and sustainable development. In this paper, determinants
of energy efficiency and energy consumption for the panel of 11 post-communist countries
in the Eastern Europe during 1996–2013 are investigated. The stochastic frontier function
approach and comparative analysis were used to examine long-run dynamic relations. The
research results show that GDP growth is a key factor increasing both energy efficiency and
energy consumption. The research results on energy efficiency relations show that CO2 emissions
per capita, a fixed capital and the share of industry in the economy are other important
drives. In the context of per capita energy consumption growth, the factors of structural changes
determined by industry share in the national economy and innovation concerned with development
and implementation of high technologies are significant. The European Union accession and
participation in the European energy policy promote to energy efficiency improvements in the
post-communist countries while progress in governance and enterprise restructuring as measured
by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is not important for energy
efficiency and per capita energy consumption in the post-communist countries. According to the
research results, energy efficiency policy in the sample countries should be aimed at providing
further economic growth enhancing a positive impact of other factors and implementing energy
efficiency projects.

The Energy Community – An instrument of EU external energy policy
The development of EU energy policy has been a complex undertaking which still faces resistance from many member states. At the same time, the EU is developing an external energy policy with a view to expand its regulatory reach to third states.
The EU’s main instrument of this process is the Energy Community (EnC), which establishes a legal and institutional framework for EU rule exportation. The organisation was founded by the Treaty establishing the Energy Community in October 2005. It brings together the European Union, on the one hand, and several countries from South East Europe and the Black Sea region on the other.
The course introduces the context, history, and functioning of the Energy Community. Moreover, it briefly introduces current political science perspectives aimed at explaining why third states may be willing to adopt EU energy legislation. The course closes with a consideration of the shortcomings and future directions of the Energy Community and EU external energy policy more generally.

The European Commission has certainly made great efforts to support it and to ensure that energy savings can contribute to the EU’s energy priorities, namely reduction of carbon emissions, lowering of energy costs and increase of energy independence. The EU has introduced energy efficiency targets, created a regulatory framework to support energy efficiency and the uptake of energy efficient products and provided significant funding. However, so far energy efficiency has not lived up to its expectations, which is disappointing considering the huge amount of resources spent to promote it.
In this Energy Flash we look why the EU’s policies have so far have not had the desired effect, what is being done to change this and which sectors are best placed to benefit from the renewed efforts.
European external energy policy a liberal intergovernmentalist approach
This document is a thesis written by Jacopo Pendezza on the topic of the European External Energy Policy. It provides an overview of the theoretical framework used, outlines the hypothesis, and previews the structure of the thesis. The thesis will take a liberal intergovernmentalist approach to analyze EU member states' reluctance to delegate energy sovereignty to EU institutions. It hypothesizes that member states pursue autonomous energy relations and influence over international supplies due to opposing views with the more entrepreneurial EU Commission. The thesis structure includes chapters on theoretical approaches, member state energy policies, EU external energy policy proposals and processes, and a conclusion evaluating the hypothesis.
A perspective on infrastructure and energy security in the transition
The report from consultants Artelys and Climact, backed by WWF and others, finds that the existing pan-European infrastructure can manage wide-ranging demand levels and potential supply disruptions. Adding much more gas infrastructure is not only unnecessary for security of supply, it also creates a risk of expensive stranded assets.
Subsidies and costs of EU energy (2014)
This interim report summarizes subsidies and costs of EU energy in 2012. It finds that total public interventions in EU energy markets were €122 billion in 2012, with renewable energy sources receiving the highest support of €41 billion. The estimated external costs of environmental impacts from energy production and use were €200 billion. Wholesale costs of energy across the EU were approximately €500 billion for context. The report provides breakdowns of subsidies by technology and EU country.

This document provides the UK government's response to the EU's Green Paper on energy policy. It welcomes the framework provided by the Green Paper to discuss European energy policy. The UK recognizes the need for a new, cooperative approach to energy at the EU level to address challenges like climate change and increasing energy imports. The UK supports further liberalization of the EU's energy markets and increased cooperation on issues like renewable energy and energy efficiency. The energy services market is the youngest, compared to other types of energy markets, but also the most actively expanding worldwide in two priority areas: energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. At the same time, the incompleteness of the theoretical foundations substantially slows down its development. This paper provides an overview of the legal and regulatory frameworks associated with energy services market formation, brings together conceptual ideas and innovation studies from developed countries, and offers a theoretical foundations (model) of the energy services market formation based on the synergetic combination of energy systems requirements analysis and set theory. A new organizational structure of the energy services market clients’ interaction with energy-and-fuel markets, markets of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and markets of consumers, as well as a new organizational mechanism for supporting the effective functioning of the energy services market based on a system of corresponding equations are proposed. In general, the proposed framework allows the researchers and engineers to define in more depth and more clearly the system-coordinated pathways to improve the energy services market functioning.

Energy consumption reduction and energy efficiency improvement are recognized as global priorities
in the context of the green economy and sustainable development. In this paper, determinants
of energy efficiency and energy consumption for the panel of 11 post-communist countries
in the Eastern Europe during 1996–2013 are investigated. The stochastic frontier function
approach and comparative analysis were used to examine long-run dynamic relations. The
research results show that GDP growth is a key factor increasing both energy efficiency and
energy consumption. The research results on energy efficiency relations show that CO2 emissions
per capita, a fixed capital and the share of industry in the economy are other important
drives. In the context of per capita energy consumption growth, the factors of structural changes
determined by industry share in the national economy and innovation concerned with development
and implementation of high technologies are significant. The European Union accession and
participation in the European energy policy promote to energy efficiency improvements in the
post-communist countries while progress in governance and enterprise restructuring as measured
by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is not important for energy
efficiency and per capita energy consumption in the post-communist countries. According to the
research results, energy efficiency policy in the sample countries should be aimed at providing
further economic growth enhancing a positive impact of other factors and implementing energy
efficiency projects.

The Energy Community – An instrument of EU external energy policy
The development of EU energy policy has been a complex undertaking which still faces resistance from many member states. At the same time, the EU is developing an external energy policy with a view to expand its regulatory reach to third states.
The EU’s main instrument of this process is the Energy Community (EnC), which establishes a legal and institutional framework for EU rule exportation. The organisation was founded by the Treaty establishing the Energy Community in October 2005. It brings together the European Union, on the one hand, and several countries from South East Europe and the Black Sea region on the other.
The course introduces the context, history, and functioning of the Energy Community. Moreover, it briefly introduces current political science perspectives aimed at explaining why third states may be willing to adopt EU energy legislation. The course closes with a consideration of the shortcomings and future directions of the Energy Community and EU external energy policy more generally.

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to discuss the
generational gaps that are found in the workplace
today. With multiple generations working together,
and the oldest generation having to work longer and
retire later, generational changes are occurring in the
workplace and for management. There is a lack of
communication and understanding between the
different generations caused through differing values
and goals. Younger generations are also entering
different fields than those that were popular for older
generations. There is a serious new problem in the
workplace, and it has nothing to do with downsizing,
global competition, pointy-haired bosses, stress or
greed. Instead, it is the problem of distinct
generations — the Veterans, the Baby Boomers, Gen
X and Gen Y — working together and often colliding
as their paths cross.
Individuals with different values, different ideas,
different ways of getting things done and different
ways of communicating in the workplace have always
existed. So, why is this becoming a problem now? At
work, generation differences can affect everything
including recruiting, building teams, dealing with
change, motivating, managing, and maintaining and
increasing productivity All of these ideas are
explored, discussed, and evaluated, through looking
at current research on the topic and case studies that
have been conducted not only in the United States but
around the world.

Throughout the years, as the population has continued to
both grow and age, it has caused generational changes to
take place in the various aspects of life. With the changes in
the demographics of the world’s population, there have also
been changes in how each group thinks and what they
value. This not only affects the way people behave in their

generational changes occur in the workplace, a lack of
communication has caused adisconnect to occur between
the values and goals present among the different age groups

The purpose of this project is for you to choose a plant, conduct online research into the biology of the plant, and communicate what you have learned. You will be preparing an annotated bibliography on the plant you choose. The entire project is worth 50 points
Annotated Bibliography (50 points)
You will prepare an annotated bibliography with a list of the top 10 most interesting facts about your plant.
· Each fact should be paraphrased (i.e. written in your own words, no quotations allowed).
· Then tell me why this is interesting to you – make connections to your life or to currents issues in our world.
· Finally, give a full citation and tell me why you think this is a reliable, trustworthy source. Use this libguide to help you come up with reasons why your source is trustworthy.
· At least one of your sources should be from a peer-reviewed, science journal article.

To complete the assignment, you should first choose a plant, gather articles discussing your plant, read the articles sufficiently enough to discuss the plant, and finally write the annotated bibliography. You are expected to produce original work, and any plagiarism will receive a zero. The paper should be double-spaced, and typed in 12 point font size, with normal margins. The instructions for how to properly cite your sources are at the end of this handout.
*** Reminder: The scientific name of a plant should always be typed in italics, with the first letter of the Genus capitalized. For ex.: Digitalis lanata. When you search for information on your plant online, make sure to use the scientific name, which will bring back a wider variety of results

however, very complex. Under good conditions, Tennessee Street is the fastest route. When Tennessee
is congested, one of the other routes is preferable. Over the past two months, Dorothy has tried each of

This summarizes an Adlerian-based positive group counseling program for emotionally troubled youth that integrated positive psychology interventions. The 12-week program used interventions from positive psychotherapy curriculum to increase positive emotion, engagement, and meaning by emphasizing strengths. Sessions focused on identifying signature strengths, cultivating strengths through goals, developing gratitude, processing good and bad memories, and expressing forgiveness as a way to increase social interest. The positive interventions aligned well with Adlerian principles of emphasizing strengths, social interest, and encouragement to help youth overcome problems.

After completing the assessment, my Signature Theme Report produced the following results: Communication, Relator, Individualization, Consistency, and Strategic. When I first saw the themes presented, I was a little skeptical at first but after reading the detailed descriptions I felt like it made a lot of sense and mirrored a lot of what I had already thought about myself.
A core value that I would like to continue to strengthen would be the value of acceptance. One of my top five themes was relator which explained that I have a comfortability with gravitating towards people I already know and building relationships from there. I don’t have issues with making new relationships, but I can see that sometimes I close myself off initially to embracing new ones. With acceptance, you have to understand that there are some situations you can control and some that you can’t but embracing the latter can lead to new experiences that could be beneficial (Riley, 2021). Another core value that I would like to improve upon would be calmness. This fits in well with my theme of consistency. While I am a firm believer of things being fair and consistent, I can get easily upset when things don’t balance out like they are expected to. I know that working on being calm in tense situations will help me adapt easier when things don’t always work out as they should.
One of the strengths that I would like to embrace fully and continue to improve upon is communication. It was no surprise to me that communication was at the top of my list for my themes. When I am in a position of leadership at work, I make it a priority to keep my staff updated on everything that is going on for that night and it is something I expect from my charge nurse when I am working the floor also. A communicator is only effective when they are aware of their style of communicating and how others perceive or respond to it (Marshall & Broome, 2021). As a communicator I know that I can always work on how I communicate non-verbally and with body language especially. The other strength that I would like to continue to work on is of being strategic. The report explained that the strategic theme fit me because I am able to sort through the clutter and find the best route when I am trying to accomplish something. I really believe this about myself because when I have a task I need to accomplish, whether I am in a leader position or not, I will break everything down and reorganize it to make sure I have come up with the best solution. I feel like the best way to do something is the way that makes it concise and without a lot of excess getting in the way.
A characteristic of mine that I would like to strengthen would be that of instinct. My theme of individualization points out that I have an instinct about others and how they work and function. I have always felt that I easily read people and can get a sense of who they truly are and for example in the workplace how they are as a staff member. S.

NARRATOR: Advocacy and change are closely intertwined. In this video
program, Dr. Judy Lewis defines advocacy and explains the roles of counselors
advocating for change. Dr. Lewis also describes barriers counselors may face as
they advocate for change, and how to overcome these barriers.
DR. JUDY LEWIS: At its most basic, advocacy is simply the act of speaking up
on behalf of someone else-- maybe speaking up for someone who is voiceless or
powerless.
When it comes to the counseling profession, advocacy is particularly important
for two reasons. One is that part of our process of working with clients is to help
them gain the strength and the skills so they can advocate on their own behalf.
The other part of it is that once we realize that the client might not have the
power to be able to speak up on his or her own behalf, sometimes we may have
to be the ones that speak up on behalf of the clients.
This happens especially when we see a lot of different clients all having similar
problems, and we realize that there is a systemic reason for it. There is
something in the community environment that is standing between these clients
and what they need.
So as counselors, when we're oriented toward advocacy, what we are doing is
changing the lens through which we see the client. Instead of looking through a
microscope at the individual client, we're looking through a wide-angle lens. So
that we're seeing the context of what's happening in the client's life.
When counselors carry out advocacy, they do this at several different levels. One
level is the level of working with the individual client or family. When you're
working with an individual client, you have two alternatives. One is to work in an
empowering way with the individual so that he or she learns to advocate for
himself or herself.
The other possibility-- when that doesn't provide all the answers-- the other
possibility is to do advocacy on behalf of that individual. When we're working with
the clients in an empowering way, what we're helping them see is the degree to
which some of the problems that they're having may not be totally their fault.
When people start feeling as though they're so much at fault, sometimes they just
get stuck and can't seem to move beyond their current situation. If they can begin
to see for themselves what some of the barriers are that are preventing them
from getting to where they want to go, and where sometimes they're not

completely at fault-- they're not completely guilty-- we can start to teach them
some of the skills that they need. So they can speak up on their own behalf and
have some success.

Ethical issues are at the core of what we do as cybersecurity professionals. Think of the example of a cyber defender working in a hospital. They are charged with securing the network, medical devices, and protecting sensitive personal health information from unauthorized disclosure. They are not only protecting patient privacy but their health and perhaps even their lives. Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability - the C-I-A triad - and many other cybersecurity practices are increasingly at play in protecting citizens in all walks of life and in all sectors. Thus, acting in an ethical manner is one of the hallmarks of cybersecurity professionals.

A: The academic senate adopted in 2009 the following broad definition of diversity:
Diversity - defining features of California past, present and future - refers to a variety of
personal experiences, values, and worldviews that arise from differences of culture and
circumstance. Such differences include race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language,
abilities/disabilities, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, geographic region and more.
2) Why does UC Irvine expect a diversity statement from applicants for faculty positions?
A: UC Irvine’s commitment to inclusive excellence is integral to our ascendancy among globally
