This document summarizes a study on academic viewpoints regarding computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW) education and training in Latin America. The study found that current CSCW courses focus primarily on research conducted in North America and Western Europe and do not adequately consider the Latin American context. Participants proposed adapting existing course material to the local context and developing curriculum around awareness, participation, collaborative modeling, and contemporary topics like social networks and ethics. Challenges to implementing a Latin American-centric CSCW curriculum include dispersed universities and dependence on collaborations between institutions.
