This study examined awareness of human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause sexually transmitted diseases. HPV is mainly spread through skin-to-skin contact during sex without protection. It infects the reproductive system but can also infect other areas like the mouth from oral sex. The study surveyed 140 people in Shah Alam, Malaysia to determine their awareness of HPV and how it can lead to sexually transmitted diseases. Most respondents were younger than 22 and female, with Malays reporting the highest levels of awareness. However, the majority of respondents were not aware that HPV can cause sexually transmitted diseases, so the study recommends increasing education, especially among teenagers, to prevent future infections.
