Genital warts are benign viral tumors of the skin or mucous membranes, due to human papillomaviruses. Rare are the authors who
insist on studying the psycho-affective and sexual impact of this
condition.
This document is a thesis submitted by Brennan Wittry in partial fulfillment of a degree in sociology and anthropology. It examines how the human papillomavirus (HPV) creates gendered subjectivities through biomedical technologies and discourses that focus on female bodies. Through interviews with students and a review of discourse, the author finds that HPV is generally invisible to male students but female students see themselves as at risk or contagious. The gendered experiences with HPV illustrate how technologies like the Pap smear and HPV vaccine were implemented in a way that viewed HPV as a female problem.
Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are a major public health problem in the United States and globally. An estimated 12 million new cases of STDs occur each year in the U.S., with adolescents and minority groups having the highest rates. If left untreated, STDs can cause serious health consequences like pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancy, infertility, and can increase the risk of HIV transmission. The three most common causes of genital ulcers in the U.S. are herpes, syphilis, and chancroid, which can be difficult to distinguish based on clinical signs alone. Diagnostic testing is important for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a disease of the human immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). This condition progressively reduces the effectiveness of the immune system and leaves individuals susceptible to opportunistic infections and tumours. HIV is transmitted through direct contact of a mucous membrane or the bloodstream with a bodily fluid containing HIV, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluid, preseminal fluid, and breast milk. This transmission can involve anal, vaginal or oral sex, blood transfusion, contaminated hypodermic needles, exchange between mother and baby during pregnancy, childbirth, breast feeding or other exposure to one of the above bodily fluids.
Genetic research indicates that HIV originated in west-central Africa during the late nineteenth or early twentieth century. AIDS was first recognized by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in 1981 and its cause, HIV, identified in the early 1980s. Although treatments for AIDS and HIV can slow the course of the disease, there is no known cure or vaccine. Antiretroviral treatment reduces both the mortality and the morbidity of HIV infection, but these drugs are expensive and routine access to antiretroviral medication is not available in all countries. Due to the difficulty in treating HIV infection, preventing infection is a key aim in controlling the AIDS pandemic, with health organizations promoting safe sex and needle-exchange programmes in attempts to slow the spread of the virus.
In the beginning, the U.S. Centres for Disease Control (CDC) did not have an official name for the disease, often referring to it by way of the diseases that were associated with it, for example, lymphadenopathy, the disease after which the discoverers of HIV originally named the virus. The earliest known positive identification of the HIV-1 virus comes from the Congo in 1959 and 1960 though genetic studies indicate that it passed into the human population from chimpanzees around fifty years earlier.
The HIV virus descends from the related simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV), which infects apes and monkeys in Africa. There is evidence that humans who participate in bush meat activities, commonly acquire SIV. To explain why HIV became epidemic, there are several theories, each invoking specific driving factors that may have promoted SIV, rapid transmission of SIV through unsterile injections, colonial abuses and unsafe smallpox vaccinations or prostitution and the concomitant high frequency of genital ulcer diseases (such as syphilis) in nascent colonial cities.

The document summarizes four studies that identify risk factors for HPV. All four studies found that younger age and a higher number of sexual partners are strongly correlated with HPV infection. Additional risk factors identified across the studies include ever having sex, alcohol consumption, low income, smoking, and oral contraceptive use. Understanding risk factors can help target prevention efforts and may provide insight into HPV persistence and cervical cancer development.

There are approximately 20 million new STD infections in the United States each year. As of 2013, around 110 million Americans had one or more STDs, which is about 35% of the population. Common STDs include gonorrhea, chlamydia, HPV, syphilis, and herpes. While condoms can be 98% effective against transmission, there is still a small chance of failure if microtears occur from improper storage or application. The Bronx borough of New York City has particularly high STD rates, with certain ZIP codes reporting epidemic levels of HIV, hepatitis, gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, and tuberculosis.

The document summarizes a systematic review and meta-analysis of worldwide HIV prevalence among transgender women. It finds an overall pooled HIV prevalence of 19.1% among 11,066 transgender women across 15 countries. Prevalence was higher in high-income countries (21.6%) than in low- and middle-income countries (17.7%). The odds of HIV infection were 48.8 times higher for transgender women compared to all adults of reproductive age in the same countries. The analysis suggests transgender women represent a very high-risk population for HIV globally.
Sexually transmitted diseases are escalating nowadays when more people have started entering into multiple sexual relationships. They might not consider this ethically wrong but the fact remains that such people are more prone to sexual diseases. However, if unfortunately, one gets infected by any such disease, it is better to start treatment as soon as possible because these diseases have the potential to ruin your entire life. People often are embarrassed and scared to disclose their problem to others even to their friends but they fail to realize that delaying diagnose is compromising with their life. Thus, as soon as you fear a sexually transmitted infection (STI), approach a doctor.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted infection that can cause genital warts and cancers. There are over 40 types of HPV, with 4 high-risk types that do not clear on their own and can cause cancer. HPV affects millions annually, with 360,000 cases of genital warts and 11,000 cases of cervical cancer in women each year. While both sexes are affected, women face more severe health consequences from HPV. Vaccines can protect against the high-risk HPV types but are most effective before sexual activity begins.
This document summarizes two studies on heterosexual anal intercourse among urban female adolescents. The first study found that over 1/3 of participants reported engaging in anal intercourse, with little condom use. Those who engaged in anal intercourse were less likely to use condoms during vaginal sex. The second study found a quadratic relationship between relationship power and anal intercourse, with those having low or high power more likely to engage in it. Education is needed to increase awareness of risk associated with anal intercourse.

Fatal Condition of Aortic Dissection Produces Symptoms of Sudden and Tearing ...semualkaira
Aortic dissection is a very difficult condition in which the inner
sheath of the aortic wall is torn without tearing the outer sheath.
This causes blood to enter the aortic wall through the tear, which
further splits the mediastinum and creates a new channel in the
aortic wall. The serious and often fatal condition of aortic dissection produces symptoms of sudden and tearing chest pain. Although aortic dissection mostly occurs in people around the age of
60, the peak incidence in people with Marfan syndrome is between
20 and 40 years of age.

Rare Case Of Primary Pulmonary Dedifferentiated Liposarcomasemualkaira
Liposarcoma is a relatively common soft tissue sarcoma, but primary pulmonary liposarcomas are extremely rare, expecially for
dedifferentiated subtype. We report the case of a 44-year-old African woman, healed from SARS-Covid, who presented with a 8
cm right lung ilary mass and underwent to a right intrapericardial pneumonectomy with diaphragmatic and pleural resections.
Histological test confirmed diagnosis of dedifferentiated primary
pulmonary liposarcoma. The patient recovered well having an uncomplicated postoperative course and was discharged after 7 days.
On four months follow up the patient was still alive and without
evidence of disease. More studies have to be conducted because
very few cases are reported in literature.

and defined the diagnostic criteria; However, the association of
this syndrome with silicone breast implants is controversial

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune DiseaseHealth Advances
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.

function and relationship in women is limited. Research focus-
es more on general psychological outcomes, such as depression,
anxiety, guilt, anger, rage, or sexuality as a general issue rather
than focusing on specific dimensions of women’s sexuality [3].
The only disorder investigated to explore if it could be related to
HPV infection is dyspareunia via the link with vulvodynia/vulvar
vestibulitis. However, the relationship between HPV and vulvar
vestibulitisrelated dyspareunia appears to be eventually a sequelae
of the HPV-related diseases treatment rather than the HPV infec-
tion itself [4]. Conaglen et al., in their individual case control study
on 101 consecutive clients attending an STD clinic, evaluated with
four validated questionnaires, found that those diagnosed with a
first episode of HPV had considerable psychological difficulties
(25% of the HPV-positive group complained suffering social dys-
function vs. 7.9% of the HPV-negative group; 17.9% reported se-
vere depression vs. 10.5%); 29% of men and 10% of women with a
first episode of GWs could be classified as having sexual concerns
at their first visit. However, the diagnosis of HPV was not asso-
ciated with a greater psychological or psychosexual impact than
that reported for other sexually transmitted infections [3]. To eval-
uate the psychosocial impact of taking part in repeated testing for
HPV, Waller used in-depth interviews that were carried out with 30
women who were HPV positive with normal cytology at trial base-
line, and attended for a repeat HPV test 12 months later [4]. This
excellent qualitative study indicates that feelings of shock, confu-
sion, and distress about testing HPV positive were common. These
feelings are frequently related to the sexually transmitted nature
of HPV and concerns. They were articulated about: (i) where the
virus had come from; and (ii) anxiety about the health implications
of HPV. Anxiety was triggered by lack of knowledge about HPV
and followed by seeking further information about HPV from the
Internet. Once some of the confusion had been resolved, women
seemed able to put the result to the back of their mind until the next
test. Particularly reassuring was the knowledge that the virus could
lie dormant for a long time, so exposure was not necessarily recent
and its presence did not mean that a partner had been unfaithful
[5].
5. Conclusion
Genital and anal warts are a source of embarrassment, shame and
mistrust. Prevention is crucial and requires a sex education pro-
gram.
