Dokumen ini merangkum eksperimen pembuatan asam klorida dari natrium klorida dan asam sulfat pekat. Eksperimen menunjukkan suhu optimal 600C dan menghasilkan asam klorida gas yang ditangkap dalam scrubber menjadi larutan 3,7N dan 0,002N serta menghasilkan natrium sulfat sebagai produk samping. Hasil percobaan menghasilkan 6,75615 gram asam klorida atau 43,34% dari teori.

Asam klorida merupakan asam kuat yang bersifat generic yang banyak digunakan dalam
indusri sebagai pelarut, pengatur asam basa dan bahan baku untuk proses lainnya. Untuk
penggunaan skala industri, asam klorida diproduksi dengan konsentrasi 38%. HCl adalah asam
kuat, dan merupakan komponen utama dalam asam lambung. Tujuan percobaan ini untuk
mengetahui proses yang optimal untuk pembuatan asam klorida dan menghitung perolehan
produk asam klorida berdasarkan teori maupun percobaan.
Metode yang digunakan untuk pembuatan larutan Asam klorida yaitu dengan
mencampurkan Natrium klorida (NaCl) dengan Asam sulfat (H2SO4) 98% dalam reaktor yang
dihubungkan dengan scrubber berisi aquadest untuk menangkap gas HCl yang terbentuk.
Percobaan dilakukan dengan menggunakan 25 gram Natrium klorida dan 30 ml Asam sulfat
pekat. Dalam percobaan menghasilkan produk samping berupa garam Natrium Sulfat
(Na2SO4). Dari percobaan didapat suhu optimal untuk mereaksikan natrium klorida dengan
asam sulfat pekat adalah 60⁰C. Pada saat mereaksikan dilakukan pengadukan agar semua
natrium klorida bereaksi dengan asam sulfat pekat berlebih. Asam klorida yang terbentuk
berupa gas yang masuk kedalam scrubber untuk ditangkap oleh aquadest dan dihasilkan larutan
asam klorida. Konsentrasi asam klorida pada scrubber 1 adalah 3,7 N dan pada scrubber 2
adalah 0,002N. Konsentrasi sisa asam sulfat pada reaktor adalah 10N. Hasil perolehan asam
klorida secara teoritis adalah 15,5855 gram, sedangkan dari percobaan 6,75615 gram denga
%Yield sebesar 43,34%.

Hydrochloric acid is a strong acid that is generic is widely used in the industry-as a
solvent, a regulator of acid-base and raw materials for other processes. To use in industrial
scale, hydrochloric acid is produced at a concentration of 38%. HCl is a strong acid, and is a
major component of gastric acid. The purpose of this experiment to determine the optimal
process for the manufacture of hydrochloric acid and calculate acquisition of hydrochloric acid
product by theory and experiment.
The method used for the manufacture of hydrochloric acid solution by mixing sodium
chloride (NaCl) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) 98% in the reactor connected to the scrubber
containing distilled water to capture the HCl gas that formed. Experiments were performed
using 25 grams of sodium chloride and 30 ml of concentrated sulfuric acid. In experiments
produce other products such as salt Sodium Sulfate (Na2SO4). From experiments obtained
optimal temperature for reacting sodium chloride with concentrated sulfuric acid is 60⁰C.
Stirring while reacting sodium chloride with concentrated sulfuric acid so that all reactants
react perfectly. Hydrochloric acid is formed in gas phase that enters the scrubber to be captured
by distilled water and resulting solution of hydrochloric acid. The concentration of
hydrochloric acid in the scrubber 1 was 3,7 N and the scrubber 2 is 0,002N. The concentration
of residual sulfuric acid in the reactor is 10N. Results of hydrochloric acid theoretically
acquisition is 15,5855 grams, while from experiment is 6,75615 gram with % Yield of 43.34%.
