This document summarizes a study on the adoption and intensity of use of agricultural water management technologies by smallholder farmers in the Meda Welabu Woreda region of Ethiopia. A total of 200 smallholders were surveyed to analyze what factors influence their adoption of river diversion technology or treadle pump technology. The study found that 55 farmers had adopted technologies, with 97% using river diversion and 7% using treadle pumps. Logistic regression models identified variables like membership in local institutions, labor availability, income, and credit access as positive influences on river diversion adoption.
