This document discusses using water footprint indicators and relative irrigation supply indexes to assess water consumption in agricultural production in Iran. It calculates the blue, green, and grey water footprints of major crops in each province over 40 years to investigate the impacts of various factors on water footprint trends. The results show that on average, water consumption consists of 78% blue water, 8.6% green water, and 13.4% grey water. Relative irrigation supply index values indicate over-irrigation in most crops. Using a multi-criteria optimization method, crops were ranked by utility in each station, identifying that some crops like tobacco, cotton, beans, rice, sugar beet and alfalfa are not recommended in water-scarce regions except
