Public journalism aims to cover issues relevant to communities and society, but the prevailing model of media today favors dominant groups and ignores the perspectives of ordinary people. True public journalism would add the "why" and "how" elements to news coverage to provide more context and drive action on important issues. The author calls on media and the information minister to make journalism more civic-minded and reflective of society's real problems and concerns.

1. Absence of public journalism
Once upon a time, a communication scholar said,
“Doctors bury them but the journalists carry them on
front page’’. This saying is directly related to the public
journalism, it may also be called “civic or community
journalism”. It is all about people, society and community
based issues.
It dissipates the news by using all the basic components
(5W’s and 1H). These are the most important and the
indispensable terms which help to form any kind of news.
When these things “What, Where, When, Who, Why and
How” Are covered, the public journalism takes shape.
Public journalism covers all the aspects of an event.
But now a days, prevailing model of journalism is
dominant upon media. Prevailing model is only
connected with media owners and the dominant peoples.
It favors them regarding their wants, and serves the
peoples by ignoring the two basic “Why and How” of
above mentioned six points but the rest of others are used
to cover an event at best.
Being media a powerful it is so susceptible and feeble in
that media mughals and the owners have made it unseat.
It is now in the hands of affluent and dominant peoples
as well. Whatever material is published not acted upon.
Lot of elusive stories are published daily in various
newspapers but not acted upon. Every newspaper of now
a days contains huge numbers of bloodier stories not
acted upon, why?

2. These kinds of published stories are considered to be
futile and useless, why? Now days, media is only a locus
of dominant peoples. Making a public journalism is so
easy just add the lost two basic components into covering
an event. it will become civic / public journalism.
By doing this, valiant journalists will also do their job
without any kind of shyness and fear. They will pen down
every issue and problem for making the society developed.
Brining the power of public journalism is not only the
positive step but is to choke the ravage and extermination.
To act upon these stories published is to simple just
act upon this letter others will automatically be acted. I
know my letter is revocative and adversarial but it too
based upon dissolution to cruelties and brutalities. But
there is a deeper need of paying attention to my views and
opinions when our journalism may recur in its robust
importance and significance. It my naïve request to the
information minister to make the media public service,
make the media an explicit and shining mirror of society.
