In journalism since 1992, Basudev Mahapatra specialises in reporting and writing on societal, developmental and environmental issues encountering rural India. An amateur documentary maker, Basudev’s documentaries highlight issues like displacement, conflict, social change, and climate change adaptation by people. As a development communication practitioner, Basudev works in areas of communication strategy, research, documentation and sensitisation of youth on gender issues. He believes that issues like poverty and hunger can be overcome and sustainability can be achieved by dealing with the issues collectively, judiciously and responsibly.
